These are cheap enough that it's worth it just for entertainment value. My stone tank has a bit over 60% run speed bonus so far. When I see a friend on a stone tank, I ask them to turn on Granite and Rooted and then literally run circles around them.
They stop dead in their tracks and just sit there for a few seconds, apparently mulling it over. Then they ask, "How are you doing that?"

Mean, I know, but I picture them staring at their monitor with about the same expression they would have if monkeys started flying out of it. -

How about thematic considerations? I paired electric melee with electric armor. Loads of fun. Took him to 50.

Quote:And, to be perfectly clear, Impish isn't saying that the stealth IO's are unique like most other uniques. They are unique ACROSS SETS. If you have a Teleport Stealth IO, you can not slot any other stealth IO (running, leaping, flying) at all on that character.Stealth IOs are Unique. You can only have ONE in your entire build.
(Note: Unless it's in a different build.)
This makes them unique among uniques.

Quote:Oh, I'd say it's the game, and here's why:I would hand it to them...
...and then my PC would freeze for a good minute.
Later I did some more handoffs after a mission, and the first handoff would freeze my PC for about 10 seconds. Later handoffs were okay.
I had a problem virtually identical to that. When putting enhancements in the consignment house, the first one I dragged/dropped would freeze my system exactly as you describe. If I dragged additional ones, there would not be any problem. Also, if I right-clicked and moved it to the auction slot that way, there would not be any freeze.
This would happen EVERY SINGLE TIME I used the consignment house. Then we had a patch to the game and it stopped and never happened again.
And it wasn't a case of my system having marginal performance where issues might crop up. This was on a quad core system, 8GB of RAM, 5850 video card and my graphics settings are low enough I can run 2 accounts with no performance hit. Something in the game was wonky and a patch fixed it.
Now, I have no idea if dragging/dropping on players would have had the same issue. I honestly can't remember the last time I did that. -
It's random. I was standing outside a mission in Independence Port on a level 41 scrapper. For entertainment, I decided to use Dragon's Tail (AoE knockdown attack) on a group of Family almost 20 levels below me. I got a tip. We went inside the mission. I got a tip in the 2nd spawn.

I ran my ice/SS tank through Ramiel's arc and didn't notice anything different. I don't recall anyone speed boosting me.
-
Well, taking Granite doesn't cost any influence. Can you estimate what your build cost?

Quote:I have a question: Since reaching Paragon City, have you actually visited a Freedom Corps contact to check your settings? It's entirely possible that the move to Paragon City reset you to default settings.I took advantage of the new -1 setting in Praetoria to get my Dark/Dark Corruptor from 13 to 20 as quickly as possible. Now she's at level 20 and in Paragon City. Unfortunately, I'm running into a problem with her setting. I just attempted mission from Ray Cooling that had her facing all Yellow and Orange SWAT Team members.

Quote:I'm well aware of that. I improved my settings much less than the increase in power of the graphics card. Previously, I would have performance issues when running two accounts (in normal non-raid conditions). Now I can run two accounts perfectly.did you change your graphic settings with the newer computer? if you increased the settings to take advantage of a lot more power, it may end up being a wash with something like a mother ship raid
I normally don't have problems during mothership raids but, on Sunday night, I had lag on par with 'lag hill' in the ITF. Conclusion: it wasn't me. -
-
You don't need to start from scratch as long as you still have your account ID and password. They don't delete accounts.
-
Quote:I wouldn't count on it. It may well be like the lag in the ITF - it's not your computer that's the problem.Hopefully by March I'll have a new shiny and faster computer so I can take part in more raids without all the lag!!!
I was on a raid tonight with some really bad lag and I'm on a new computer that's much more powerful than the last time I raided. Yet, I had less lag in the past. -
A while back, this was a well-known way to get to Pocket D but OUTSIDE the structure.
Well, maybe not 'well-known'.... but it worked consistently until it was fixed. -
Quote:No. It *IS* new. Everyone is pointing to a patch note that specifically refers to "NPC critters". It should be clear from my mention of PvP that I am talking about players.OK, so, to recap:
- It's NOT new
- It was NOT a stealth change, it was announced -- and discussed on the forums
- Since it's been in place for a few issues, it's NOT affecting the PVP IO supply in any noticeable way
And it was a stealth change, unless someone can point to a mention regarding targeting PLAYERS.
And it has not been in place for a few issues - more like a week. -
-
You're wrong because Stamina all by itself adds significant recovery before you slot it at all *AND* it's not taking a few extra powers that kills your END - it's when you start slotting recharge. And at low levels, you simply can't slot very much recharge. Of course, if you go crazy with recharge then that's your fault and no one else's.
-
No one outside of CoH marketing is going to know that.
My 'guess' would be: not soon, since it was on sale so recently. -
There appears to have been a slight change in how targeting works when an enemy dies.
Previously:
Have enemy targeted.
Enemy dies.
Enemy rezzes.
Enemy is still targeted.
Now:
Have enemy targeted.
Enemy dies.
Enemy rezzes.
Targeting is lost.
Does anyone know the reason for the change? My first thought is that it's to address AFK PvP IO farming where you have someone using a self-rez power. I was wondering if they would do something like this and was waiting to see and hoping that death would not cause loss of targeting as this would break some warshade powers. Having the actual rez break targeting seems like a reasonable change that will have very little impact on 'legitimate' play.
Unfortunately, for reasons I won't go into, I don't think this is going to have much impact on AFK PvP farming. In fact, this is such a feeble attempt to address it, that I wonder if there is some other reason for this change. Any ideas?
As for AFK PvP farming, it seems to me there is one easy way to take care of it....
(Not sure if all details here are correct, as it's before my time.)
Once upon a time, there was no auto-logout due to inactivity. People would leave their toons near the transit hubs and it caused lag so auto-logout was implemented. However, if you logged out while on a task force, you were dropped from the task force. So auto-logout did not apply when you were in task force mode.
Fast forward to today - logging out while on a TF does NOT drop you from the task force. So why do we still need auto-logout to be suppressed while on a task force? Is there any reason why auto-logout should not be applicable to all characters at all times? -
I'm in. I'll probably bring Ironblade, unless some specific AT is more useful.

Quote:ehh.....Seriously, he's not hard to kill. And besides, if the Devs changed it, I'm sure it wasn't WAI.
This seems to be more and more of a trend lately. If the players are tackling a situation in a manner inconsistent with the devs' 'vision', then the encounter gets changed to force us to conform.
Personally, I don't see Trapdoor as a challenge and always just beat him down where he stands. But I don't like this change, since it reeks of the devs telling us how to play. We used to get a lot of that and I'm not happy to see it returning. -
Most of my characters are male. Generally, when I make a female toon it's because something about the background or name suggests/requires it. As an example, I had planned to make a WP/Ice tank named Taiga Tiger. That name was taken, but Taiga Tigress was free.

Do we have confirmation that it's a bug? Some people are saying that drops were turned off on purpose until the devs can address farming.
Of course, this puzzles me. They didn't have issues with farming of PvP drops but turn it off now so that people can't farm shards, which are bound to the recipient?
