I soloed her on Ironblade, who is broadsword/regen.
Pretty tough fight. The debuffs caught me by surprise and I had to back off and start over. On the second try I led off with Parry and that made a big difference. With the recharge and defense slotted in Parry, I can alternate between having it double-stacked and triple-stacked, which put my defense against her jumbo sword at either ~51% or 73%. It drags out the fight, since I have to use Parry every other attack, but it works wonder against select opponents.
Didn't need inspirations or temp powers. However, this character is purpled and has the recharge/heal incarnate boost. I think I need to go back and solo Nosferatu. He killed me 3 times the first time I encountered him. -
Reliability doesn't matter. It's like the purple drop rate - in the long run it all evens out.

Keep in mind that the contact names do NOT appear in the listing. Per ParagonWiki, I believe the red arc is 'Old Friends, New Enemies etc' and the blue one is 'Bad People, Good Intentions'.

Quote:I did. But only on new characters who weren't around for the last Winter Event.I thought the earmuffs manifests as a power. In that you get a power, you activate it and you get the new costume part but either way I didn't get a message saying I got a new costume part.
To be perfectly clear: I don't recall whether or not I got the big onscreen notification text for the earmuffs. But it did appear in my chat window. -
Well, it's really not so much a question of logic as simply recognizing that it's a basic design decision of the game. The whiners might as well ask for archetype distinctions to be removed so we can all be tank-mages. It's a very basic design decision and it's not going to change.

Quote:Not exactly. What WAS changed was the 'environment' surrounding the Winter Event. Specifically, there are now Rogue and Vigilante alignments. This seems to be what caused the problem.Originally Posted by je_saist;3386712As evidenced by today's patch, the problems with winter-lord's zone were not discovered until after the event went live; that was supposed to be something in the code that wasn't changed or modified at all from last year... Quote:Or they DID test it and it works just fine.same problem here, i can log in fine (no patch applied or downloaded) but the servers all say unavailable when i try to connect....... some genius didn't fully test this patch to the servers.
It does seem there was some problem with the patch server. The patch itself was fine. -
Quote:So, you can solo the Statesman, Apex and Tin Mage task forces?True. I think us soloers might be more in number than the Devs know. Some data mining might be called for before continuing on this course..the day I can't solo anything is the day I quit.
Or do you accept that some things are not intended to be soloed?
Of course, none of this applies to Trapdoor. He's not even as tough as Nosferatu. -
Quote:I added one optional step that can make it easier for low damage AT's.And FYI, shivans are easy. Heres what you do:
1) Find a base without missile turrets
2) Beat all turrets down to a sliver of health (DO NO BLOW THEM UP DURING THIS STEP)
2a) Destroy ONE turret and wait for it to respawn.
3) Starting at the furthest turret from the glowie you click on, start destroying the turrents
4) ???
5) Profit with your new shivan!
You see, all the turrets are on the same fixed respawn timer, which is 5 minutes. If you beat up each turret a bit, destroy one and wait for it to respawn, that guarantees you'll have the full 5 minutes from that point.
That 5 minute respawn timer is FIXED. It's not based on anything you do. If you just systematically beat down the turrets, you might take out the last one 3 seconds before they all respawn. -

Quote:I have tanked Lord Recluse with my invuln and he's not built for defense. He doesn't even have Weave. I capped his S/L resist, took Aid Self and slotted him for regen, which is cheap. It cost me around 30 million to get 300% regen.Ok so I've bookmarked the defense softcap link, my next problem is that I only have about 80mil... maybe 100mil
For Recluse, he needs to use inspirations. For anything else, he doesn't even use Unstoppable (although he has it, just in case). -
"Doc, it hurts when I do this."
"Stop doing that."

Quote:Aside from the advice already given, you could try finding someone with the same morality mission that you need and run it with them. They had 10 alignment points before I updated to GR and now I cannot get a morality mission with them.
Anybody know how to solve this problem?
No. At some point AFTER getting the full progress bar, you'll get it as a drop from an enemy defeat, just like the alignment missions.Quote:The morality mission tip is awarded when you complete your 10th alignment mission,
FYI, you can still be inside the 10th alignment mission. I had that happen once. I completed the objective, got the mission complete alert, and decided to clear the room. The next enemy I defeated dropped the morality mission. -

Quote:Dude, I'll point out AGAIN that I'm aware of the PvP changes.Dude, I am sorry to inform you: when the PvP changes went into effect, diminishing returns made it more difficult to beat the firebase without turrets respawning on you. I used to never have anyone without shivans, who was of appropriate level; no one. I was in there several times a week getting shivans for this one, that one and the other.
But they were NOT done to make Shivans harder to get for solo players, which you claimed. You are wrong.
As for how much harder it became - not much. I still do it solo on defenders. -

Quote:hmm..... followed the link. Why can't I help thinking about Tae Kwan Leep and boot to the head?
um... "DJ Demento"??? Close, but no cigar.Quote:A few years later, a popular U.S. radio personality DJ Demento reintroduced the skit on air as well as on his 20th anniversary collection album in 1991.

Quote:The first part is your opinion, with which I disagree strongly.A) Mez protection for all melee classes is too high. Disregarding your 1 in a million chance (effectively) in your examples, melee protection doesn't fail.
The second part is factually incorrect.
Because there is absolutely no way you can 'un-mez' yourself.Quote:B) Mez for anything without protection has two potential results: death in 5 seconds without chance of response or doing nothing for 10-15-20+ seconds.
Oh, wait, there is. -

I'm not disputing your observations. I'm disputing that it must be a bug, since we have other mobs that exhibit the same behavior. Certainly they MIGHT be bugged, or they MIGHT be working as intended.
NPCs getting stuck on terrain or lost in an elevator is OBVIOUSLY a bug. This is not obviously a bug. -
Quote:I point you to the fact that you're making things up.I point you to the upping of difficulty of getting Shivans, to limit their use by solo players. [And this worked, because I never bother going to get Shivans nowadays, due to increased speed of respawn times on firebase turrets].
"the upping of difficulty of getting Shivans, to limit their use by solo players"
Kindly explain this part. Acquiring Shivans did get a bit harder, as a side effect of PvP changes. They did not directly change the mechanics of getting Shivans and they did not do any of it to limit their use by solo players. You're making that part up.
I point you to the fact you're making things up again. Even after admitting you might be wrong about Apex and Tin Man (you ARE wrong about them). you still claim nukes have been disallowed in several instances.Quote:I point you to the several places that Warburg nukes have been disallowed, the Cathedral of Pain springs to mind as well as.... gosh, didn't they *just* make it to where nukes could not be used in Apex and Tin Mage? Perhaps I am remembering that wrong.... but yes, nukes have been disallowed in several instances.
1) Cathedral of Pain
2) Please list any others you can come up with.
"One" is not the same as "several".
<snicker> Yeah, really, you might.Quote:Y'might want to rethink this stance of yours.
So can a grey-conning minion. Everyone always has some chance to hit. We all know this.Quote:Unfortunately TRAPPY CAN INDEED HIT THROUGH A *TRAYFUL* OF PURPLES. My Defender can testify to the veracity of this statement. -
Quote:Thanks for the input, but I'll play my character however I feel like.If you can't be arsed to use one of the greatest buffs in the game, then you shouldn't be playing the powerset.

I do play a fire/kin and I can't be bothered to speed boost EVERYONE ALL THE TIME.
1) I SB anyone with endurance issues.
2) I SB anyone with a key power that benefits the team (like Accelerate Metabolism, Fortitude, etc).
3) I SB EVERYONE while we're in a serious fight.
Don't like that? I don't care. Have a nice day!
Oh, and to answer the OP's question: Speed Boost is way underage - only about 7 years old.
-
I don't see how that's a bug. Snipers don't move, either. You can control who they target, but some enemies can not be compelled to move by taunting them.
