Quote:I can explain why there's no Vanguard hammer. The Vanguard weapons and shield use a force field effect. They are basically very thin and pretty much weightless. Makes sense for blades and shields, but not for a heavy, bludgeoning weapon.-- More unlockables for WM; at least a Vanguard hammer or something.

(That was the response a redname gave once upon a time.) -
Quote:It does not 'reset'. However, what some people mean by resetting is the following:Unless they have said it resets I think it's a total count badge: for example
Week 1 is stf you do 10 of them
Week 2 is Itf you do 15 of them
Week 3 is Khan you do 10 of them
Week 4 is Apex you do 15 of them
this would total 50 and you would get the badge...
We know they change the tf per week but I don't think your count resets...
Week 1 is the STF. You run it 10 times. NINE of those count for the badge.
Week 2 is the ITF. You run it 4 times. Only THREE of those count for the badge.
Each week, the first run of the Weekly Strike Target grants you the Notice of the Well but does NOT count for the count badges. -
Go to the first post in this thread and it gives all sorts of information about The Mentor Project. Stalemate has a direct link to the post in his signature and so do I.

My main character has a handful of level 53 or 52+ Nucleolus Exposures. Offhand, I know he has one in Brawl.

Positron: It's the Well of Furies, we don't gotta explain $hi#.
Positron begins to shake wildly, staggering backwards. After a few moments, he becomes still, breathing lightly.
"Positron?"
"No, not Positron. You may know me as the Well of the Furies." -
I've never deleted a 50 and I have 21 of them. I actually play most of them once in a blue moon. I took the time to respec all but a few for Inherent Fitness. I've run all but one through Ramiel's arc to unlock the Alpha Slot. At least one of them doesn't even have IOs - just SOs and HOs.
The highest character I ever deleted was level 16. He was a claws/SR scrapper named Unarmed Wombat. It was pointed out to me that having claws meant he wasn't unarmed, so I deleted and re-rolled as MA/SR.

It affects only your powers, whether they target yourself or other people.

Well, I'm done. Fifteen task forces since Thursday evening.

Quote:Well, then we can just disagree on that. Inspirations just shower down upon us and they are meant to be used. I considering using them as still 'soloing'.I severely DISLIKE when people say "I can solo LR on my tank....with inspirations".
I know what people mean when they say that but in this game, soloing with inspirations isn't really soloing.
Now, when someone says they soloed an AV with just a shivan and an HVAS, THEN I don't call it soloing any more.

Quote:Some people have gotten the download, others have not. I have two accounts and haven't gotten the download on either of them. The speculation is that, in order to spread the load over time, the auto-download is either being activated randomly or based on some account information that we're not privy to.However, when I was done for the day and decided to call it a night the downloader never got on. I restarted the game several times and quit, still no downloader. I restarted my computer and then the game, still no download. And this has been like this since then. I can't get the download to happen..
Expect it to happen some time within the next two weeks. -
The first 'glitch' is intentional. The 'captives' are Nemesis Automatons. That's why they had a question mark after 'Crey Captive'.
As for the second glitch, that's probably a momentary issue with communication between your client and the game server. I've seen that, or similar glitches, every so often. -
I'll be there. Not sure who I'll bring, but Vandal's pretty much of a scrub. Eight tanks could beat him down.

Making progress. I got my PB into Posi range (level 11) before double XP. Currently sitting at level 37 with a total of 29 hours played on that character. It would have been higher, but I also took a controller from 37 to 40.

Quote:And after it updates, when you have the chance, you should defrag your drive. It's going to have to update probably all of the CoH files and that will affect game loading with all the files being fragmented.Hello, first time here. I bought the Collector's Edition of City of Heroes a few years back,

I haven't been seeing any lag and I've done 13 task forces since Thursday evening. It may be restricted to a particular server.

So, you went in, ate 400 hot dogs and got so fat you couldn't get out? Is that what really happened?

Quote:It's either perception or it's only affecting you (or a very small number of people, at most). There was no widespread change.I thought maybe it was just my perception. After 140+ mobs without a tip, I no longer believe it is just percepction.
I've gotten 3 tips in ONE FIGHT. It's hardly inconceivable that you might go a dozen missions or more with zero tips. -
Quote:Anyway, sub-quantum portal technology.
You target designate, set up the trans-space uplink, the weapons platform in geo-sync orbit on the dark side of the moon fires through it's main portal hub, the shot comes out the uplink down planetside and fries whatever god damned goo-bag you were aiming at.
Simples!I think that's the wrong question. If you can do all that, who cares where the weapon is. Why are *YOU* out there, instead of in a recliner at home doing the targeting remotely?Quote:If you can do all that why do you have this sub-quantum portal technology in orbit and not sitting in your garage where you can show it off to all your friends.

Quote:Didn't someone do a quantitative analysis of tank armors and conclude that ice armor was 'middle of the pack'?Ice Armor is probably the worst set in the game for PvE right now.
Anyway, I think it's a fine set. I've taken ice armor to level 50 and it's one of the few tanks where I didn't bother with the Fighting pool because he didn't seem to need it. -
Quote:So, Another Fan, is it you contention that many or most market prices are being driven by a cabal of people intent on driving up prices?
Or are you just arguing that it's possible to drive up prices in some cases? As an aside, you completely ignored the question. The question was, do you contend that most market prices are the result of manipulation or simply that it is possible to manipulate the prices? I don't think most people would disagree with the second part.Quote:Where do you come up with this cabal of people stuff ?
If there is a cabal and I frequently drive prices higher why wasn't I invited ?
Does this cabal argue about who gets to wear the fez as well ?
Kidding aside, we have a market that is pitifully easy to manipulate. People come along, look, say hey I can do that and then they do it. -
Isn't it the same as for the zones? It's 5 minutes in the zones.
-
You can't conclude that. You can conclude the following:
1) In this example, the seller was not setting the prices.
2) Many, perhaps most, buyers throw money away.
Sellers *CAN* affect prices. They can affect them dramatically.
Clearly, though, when someone comes in here screaming about price fixing and conspiracies they are often completely wrong. Maybe it's most of the time; maybe it's just occasionally. I don't see any way we can ever be sure. But it is certain - SOME of the time it's just stupid buyers and there is no manipulation.
