L53 Hamis

I'm curious what people are using these for. I logged onto my ill/kin controller the other day, who hasn't been respeced since before IOs were put in, and isn't played much.

I noticed he has a bunch of L53 HOs slotted. I got curious and peeked at L53 Nucleolus HOs, saw 1 sale at 2B. I guess I'm wondering two things:

(1) What's the real market right now for L53 HOs? Which ones are sought and what are they running?

(2) What do people use them for? I had a lot of L53 HOs because I used to multibox old-school Hami quite a bit and so it was convenient just to sidekick myself (which was what caused him to bug out and drop the 52/53s instead of 50s). I was thinking about updating his build, getting inherent fitness, and getting IOs w/ bonuses instead of HOs. In his build they add almost no utility. But maybe I should save them for some other character/build in the future? I'm curious where other people are slotting them. Or are people paying top dollar for them because they're just like collector's items now?

(As a related note, are people buying 50s and combining to make 52s much? Or buying 52s when they're around and combining to make 53s? And will level shift impact the efficacy of Hami-Os? If you have a L53 slotted and you're at +3 level shift, are you back to 33.3% instead of 38.3%?)

They're worth a lot. I saw some selling for 1 billion on a trade channel recently.

Mostly see them used in PvP builds (level 53 Micros or Nucs...) or crazy high end builds. Makes me wish I had kept all of mine around back in the day instead of slotting 52s over my ++ Hamis, sigh.

Both. A level 53 HO is fairly close in enhancement value to a level 50 single-aspect IO, meaning they're pretty attractive to slot if you have the right powers to call for one. Personally, I use them in a few different places.
  • Somewhere I'm tight for slots due to having heavily slotted other powers. Ribos in a DR epic shield or Membranes in Mind Link, for example. You can get most of the same effects with IOs, but it takes more slots, even if you frankenslot.
  • Somewhere they allow enhancement levels you can't get with IOs. Examples would be Golgis in Siphon Life, or Membranes in Soul Drain. This is similar to the first bullet, but is less about saving overall slots and more about getting good enhancement in multiple, unrelated aspects of a single power.
  • Somewhere they do things that nothing else does, period. Slotting Enzymes in defense powers for 33% defense per slot, or Centrioles in targeted ally buff shields for 33% DR per slot. This can also be an extreme subset of both the first and second bullets, above.

I don't think ++ enhancers can be sold. The interface won't let them go on the market.

Given the implications this would have on SO-equipped incarnates, I will be shocked if this is how this works. I know the end-game stuff is supposed to be more challenging, but I don't think that's going to translate so directly into "slot IOs, because L50 SOs will turn red if you get four level shifts".

you can sell ++ HOs, but not on the market, you have to do a manual trade
