It doesn't seem to matter if you log on in off hours when the server load has gone back to normal either. Since the last patch I can barely play. Doing team missions is next to impossible without getting disconnected.
I haven't been seeing any lag and I've done 13 task forces since Thursday evening. It may be restricted to a particular server.

It's not limited to a specific server. I've tried various servers on both coasts, minimal server load, maximum server load, red side, blue side, yellow side, all with the same results.
I'm thinking that if you have a robust internet connection then the slowdown probably isn't particularly noticeable. But if your connection was already mediocre then the issue is compounded mightily. Just a guess, as I know next to nothing about the technical issues involved.
All I know for sure is that my send ping stays typical for my connection, but my receive ping has been tripled. Insane packet loss also sets in and I enter a downward spiral of ever increasing ping.

I have been having the same problem ever since iusse 10, I solo mostly but when I do feel like teaming anything above 4 people and Im screwed, I happens as well when on the newer missions with scripted events like the building catching on fire thing or those bosses that talk smack while fighting them at certain points of the fight.
It didn't start happening to me until after this last patch, and it has steadily gotten worse. For example, right now, with all the servers showing well below max load (and most of them showing one green circle), when I log in my ping immediately starts to climb up past 5000. Tried on several different characters on different servers and the result is the same. The game is completely unplayable for me at this point.
I'm not having any issues with other games or general internet usage, so I'm at a loss as to what is going on.
Once again, lag issues and it is the worst that I have seen. I'm sure it has something to do with good-old double exp weekend, however, it looks as though no one is doing a thing about it. I'm sure there will be a response of "we are working on it". CoH has been out for awhile and this is still an on going issue.
