  1. I'm not trying to invalidate the experiences of others, but I just haven't had this problem with Acid Mortar. Usually the first thing that happens is mobs, even Bosses and AVs, run over and try to smash the mortar. Since I usually have it in the middle of caltrops they then try to get out of the caltrops. But they don't start doing acrobatics or flee indefinitely. They never seem more agitated then they do with any other debuff on them.
  2. I've run the event 31 times. I have 4 full sets, most of another set (4), and 3 repeat IOs (Dam/End/Rech I believe).

So I've had a very even drop experience so far.
  3. Interesting. Two of the characters I've run the event on are Trappers, and I've run it on both of them several times. I've only seen the behavior you describe happening one time, and commented on how odd it was because I hadn't seen it happen before.

I don't know for sure, but at the time we thought it might have been a reaction to an excessive amount of -speed effects.
  4. After the first dozen runs of the Blockbuster event I decided to only do it on a few of my debuffing characters. It just goes so much more smoothly, and tends to even out any issues from lower level characters with few powers/attacks and lower damage output.

So now I only run it on my Fire/Dark Controller and my two Traps characters, a Beam/Traps Corruptor and a Traps/Sonic Defender.
  5. Can this set be colored with power customization? The raging heat has me wanting to make a generic Kool-Aid Man.
  6. 1. Probably? Have done it with less than a full team of 4 when people have dropped or been disconnected. Since you're exemped to level 29 I think you'll probably need to at least duo with someone with a solid build and bonuses and who knows what they're doing. One of you should probably be a debuffer, IMO.

    2. The order you do them in is chosen randomly. Sometimes you must do the Gladiator portion first, sometimes the Heist.

    3. You have to run both events to get the enhancement, which is chosen randomly. So you can trade with others and/or run it over and over. I've run it 19 times now and have two full sets, 4 parts of a third set, and three of the same enhancement left over.

    4. The time varies quite a bit IME based upon who you are teamed with, meaning what ATs, build and level, and player capability. I did one that took most of an hour and I've done some that probably took no more than like 15 minutes.
  7. The only weirdness I've experienced so far is having five people on the team in one run through. I think it might have been caused by someone losing their connection, another person joining the event in progress, and then the disconnected person coming back?
  8. Considering that the parts of the event that aren't fighting are all on short timers there's not much of anything to read. The way the event is structured pushes you through, not your teammates in this case. And some info is delivered in cutscenes, so yeah, give it a shot. It might not be as horrible as you think.

    Dual Pistols?

This. Which would mean I could finally roll up a gun-based Dominator and pistol whip some fools. Right?

    (pretty please?)
  10. If somebody could confirm the panther stealth radius I would appreciate it.

EDIT: Found it somewhere else. Looks like 40' is the stealth radius.
  11. This power actually fits my current character perfectly. But considering the cost and the weak stealth that can't be enhanced it's a non-purchase for me. With Ninja Run + Sprint I can move faster AND have stealth with an IO in Sprint. When all it takes to be effectively invisible is Super Speed + Stealth IO I really don't understand why we're getting such limited powers on the market. I don't think anybody is looking for a "WIN" button with these offerings, just some utility that actually makes them worth purchasing.
  12. I use a Verizon 3G USB dongle as well, with a 5GB cap. In the area I live it's very rare to be able to get a cellphone signal, but with a decent antenna and a small signal booster I usually maintain a usable 3G signal for my computer. Playing City, even for several hours at a time, uses less bandwidth than my usual Google image search. It's not the play time you'll have to watch out for, it's the updates.

There are some typical internet-y things that I usually don't do, like watch Youtube videos or stream other video or music content. I don't normally download a lot of stuff either. So the 5GB cap is something I've been able to work within. One thing to note is that if you play any browser-based games, like RuneScape or Drakensang, they will use much more bandwidth than City.
  13. Is Dark Detonation so bad as to be completely unmentionable?

I find myself undecided on whether or not I should try and cram it in a build. The damage looks lackluster and the kb is going to make it not particularly friendly to keeping things in the zone o' death but it is more aoe.
  14. This happened to me as well a couple days ago. I was in Founder's Falls I believe. With all the other trouble I've been having with the game lately this bug seemed pretty inconsequential at the time.
  15. This has been happening to me as well. I believe it started for me at the patch just before the double xp weekend.

Have also had a few sudden game lock-ups. No BSOD, no crash to desktop. The game just freezes and I can't even get back out to my desktop. Nothing has changed on my end. Game performance in general seems to be getting worse in various ways.
  16. I haven't tried playing over Wildblue specifically but I have tried to play over satellite and it just didn't work. Unless you consider only having your screen update the action every two or three seconds to be working. Using a land line at 48k was a much more pleasant option.

I'm using a mobile broadband connection now and other than a couple distinct oddities (like the market window causing me to disconnect) it works pretty well most of the time.

    Lag Issues

It didn't start happening to me until after this last patch, and it has steadily gotten worse. For example, right now, with all the servers showing well below max load (and most of them showing one green circle), when I log in my ping immediately starts to climb up past 5000. Tried on several different characters on different servers and the result is the same. The game is completely unplayable for me at this point.

I'm not having any issues with other games or general internet usage, so I'm at a loss as to what is going on.

    Lag Issues

It's not limited to a specific server. I've tried various servers on both coasts, minimal server load, maximum server load, red side, blue side, yellow side, all with the same results.

I'm thinking that if you have a robust internet connection then the slowdown probably isn't particularly noticeable. But if your connection was already mediocre then the issue is compounded mightily. Just a guess, as I know next to nothing about the technical issues involved.

All I know for sure is that my send ping stays typical for my connection, but my receive ping has been tripled. Insane packet loss also sets in and I enter a downward spiral of ever increasing ping.

    Lag Issues

It doesn't seem to matter if you log on in off hours when the server load has gone back to normal either. Since the last patch I can barely play. Doing team missions is next to impossible without getting disconnected.
  20. I was having similar troubles. Every time I was on a team and went into a mission my ping would go through the roof and eventually I'd lose connection to the mapserver. At first I just figured it was related to the server load due to xp mania. But I tried again once the server load dropped and the same thing was still happening. Even getting some crazy ping spikes while solo in missions now.
  21. The teleport issue was almost a deal breaker for me as well. Making you take teleport without at least letting you take hover is a sign of sadism. But then I discovered that I could just buy a raptor pack whenever I want at Fire Base Zulu. Problem solved. I just turn Shadow Cloak on (which I do for any kind of traveling anyway), because the pack doesn't fit my current costuming, and become a flying streak of purple energy.
  22. Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried going to the market immediately after logging in and it doesn't make any difference for me.

This is a real bummer. I'm no big market player or anything but I enjoy using the market and the invention system. Not even being able to buy salvage puts a big crimp in my fun.
  23. Nobody has any idea why interacting with the trade interface nukes my ping and disconnects me from the mapserver?
  24. I've been using a mobile broadband connection (with a very weak signal) to play the last couple weeks and while it works pretty well most of the time I have discovered a couple issues. I doubt there are any fixes or workarounds but I thought I'd ask anyway.

While my ping isn't great, it usually stays between 500-800 which is plenty playable for CoH. I've found though that if I'm in a mission with a Mastermind's pets that my ping will start to climb very quickly into the thousands if they're nearby. While annoying, I can work around this by either not grouping with Masterminds or trying to keep some distance during missions.

The issue I discovered last night and that I consider much more frustrating is that when I open the trading interface (have tried in the Trading House in Imperial City and the Resistance Hub so far) my ping immediately skyrockets (like upwards of 10,000) and I start dropping packets like crazy. Maybe this has something to do with the way power suppression works? More likely it's something inherent to the way the trading interface functions. Has anybody else experienced this?

If anybody has any suggestions for working around this I would appreciate it.
