In AE, EBs will scale down to Bosses on easier settings... at least before i16. No idea if they still do though. :3

Quote:But Mako runs around naked, which I'm sure the devs don't intend for us to do!Then that just leaves Captain Mako, a horrible fish monster.
Regarding Morlocks from an earlier post, I think I remember ragged clothes being in the game already. But even so, who wanted ragged suit options? :3 -
Quote:I use Self Destruction to spite PvPers, haha. Dunno if it doesn't count or not, but still.Self Destruct has a couple of uses that I find worthwhile:
If you're in a situation where you're about to be defeated anyways, activating the power pretty much gives you debt protection. (Not that debt is a big deal anyways... but still)
Base/Hospital porter. As it does not give you debt, this is a handy way to travel across a zone or access your SG base (should you not have the vet reward or day job power)
The only pack that I consider "useless" is the Wedding Pack. I suppose that it was worthwhile in the sense that the extra revenue brought us the VEATs early but other than that, I don't see much of a use for it. But to each their own.
Still, options are always a good thing. The more options we have, the better this game becomes. -
Quote:Face tentacles.
Face tentacles.

FACE TENTACLES.
FACE TENTACLES.
FREAKIN' FACE. TENTACLES.
That's all!
Let's not have a "Old One" archetype please. :3
If it is mutant-themed... it's hard to imagine the costume pieces being anything other than 'mutant' arms and legs and heads. Even the mutants in comics wear normal or tights or tech-based outfits.
As for the power included... something mutant-y... it better not be a transparent giant head or brain that appears above you and suddenly all targets within 30 ft radius are either mag3 held, confused, and feared. -
Quote:Crabs do have some melee powers if you feel you aren't getting enough single target damage. And there's nothing wrong with using Venom and Frag Grenades as part of your attack chain on a single enemy. You have to remember that Crab powers work with other Crab powers, such as the multiple pets they get (three spiderlings, two disruptors). Also remember a Crab is more geared towards multiple enemies rather than a single tough EB or AV.For me Crabs are the worst VEAT, simply because you have two single target attacks, you inevitably get stuck chaining them to kill a boss... and they're the exact same animation; then you get 3 AoEs... with only 2 animations. Banes aren't quite as bad, but the mace attacks feel clunky, always feel like you needed one more coffee before going out to fight stuff that morning; and the mace attack in the patron pool again matches the animation of something you've already got.

£5.99, the cost of a foot long meatball marinara, drink, and snack (roughly).
While a moment of pleasure is good, the benefit of all characters on one account having access to Ninja Run means all my travel-less characters who either didn't take a travel power due to lack of powers or for concept all benefit. Even my normal characters benefit. Most of the costume parts are nice too, though I wish we could have the belt used on characters wearing tight costumes rather than only have it on robes-wearing characters. Speaking of that belt, could a scabbard or two be stuck onto the back of it in various ways and released as options be done? Since the belt already sticks out of the character, I wouldn't think it would cause any clipping...
As for Valkyrie Wings - no go on female characters since the tips of them stick into the back of their legs. :3 -
Remember if you use a credit card to play, the credit card's listed address for the user must match the country you're in when you buy a new subscription. This happened to me when I went on holiday to Hong Kong only to have my sub run out and I couldn't buy a new sub until I got back to England, haha.
Of course, when you go there, you can always update locations or apply for new credit cards. :3 -
Quote:Well, do remember she has three different heals:You know that is what I believed to be true too, however to my disbelief she did, and she was also doing freaking ranged heals for over 880+ pts.
Life Drain - Ranged, Negative, Foe -Accuracy, Self + HP
Ghost Widow taps the powers of the netherworld to steal some life from a target foe and reduce his chance to hit. Some of that life is then transferred to her.
Dark Regeneration - Point Blank Area of Effect, Minor Damage(Negative), Self +Health
Ghost Widow can tap the dark essence of the Netherworld to drain a life from all nearby enemies thus healing herself. The more foes affected, the more she will be healed.
Twilight Grasp - Ranged, Foe -Accuracy -Damage, Team Heal
Ghost Widow can channel Negative Energy from the Netherworld through herself to a targeted foe. Twilight Grasp drains the power from that target and slowly transfers it to her and all nearby allies.
I do find it odd that either one or all affects Phantom Army since they shouldn't be able to let anything drain their HP other than falls or Hamidon. Perhaps it might be a bug? -

Need to complete the first story arc of a patron to unlock all patron powersets for that character. They give you a free patron respec too in case you overlevelled and picked some other powers to fill in.

1. Tough target defeat specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM) -solo
Can defeat a single tough target most quickly, alone (admittedly requires a high level of survivability as well.)
Ill/rad controller
2. Team tough target defeat specialist (vs boss, AV/even GM) -assisting/enabling
This teammate would help the team defeat a tough target most quickly (defensive capability not necessarily important, offense may be)
Ill/rad controller
3. Large group defeat specialist -solo
Can defeat a large group most consistently and quickly, alone
Elec/Shield scrapper or brute
4. Team large group defeat specialist -assisting/enabling
This teammate can make defeating large groups fastest most consistently (defensive abilities not important, offense may be)
Ill/rad controller
5. Tough target survivability specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM)- solo
Can stand against a tough target the longest, without help (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Stone/Dark tanker
6. Team tough target survivability specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM) -assisting/enabling
This teammate would make surviving tough targets for a long period easier (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Ill/rad controller
7. Large group survivability specialist -solo
This combo can withstand a large group attacking them the longest (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Stone/Dark tanker
8. Team large group survivability specialist -assisting/enabling
This teammate can help the team stand against a large group the longest (offense capability not considered, assuming never ending enemy attack)
Ill/rad controller
9. Tough target control specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM)
Power combo that can most consistently stop a single tough target from dealing damage (offense not considered)
Ill/rad controller
10. Large group control specialist
This combo can stop a large group of enemies from dealing damage most consistently (offense not considered)
earth/rad controller
11. Tough target stacking specialist (vs. boss, EB,AV,even GM)
While often diversity on a team often preferred, the more of this specific archetype primary and secondary, the better when fighting a single strong foe
all/all controller
12. Large group stacking specialist
While often diversity on a team often preferred, the more of this specific archetype primary and secondary, the better when fighting a large group
all/all controller
I'm not biased, honest. :3 -
Since they use swords, it somehow also classifies them as scrappers, and thus, they can also do critical attacks.
Have fun! -
Any of the controllers able to immobilise her? If you can do that, tanker can stay at range more easily without kiting.
The healing off pets doesn't apply to Phantom Army, if I remember. -
Quote:If you really don't want to delete them, yet you want to remake them as they are and with the same name, buy Rename tokens, change the names of your level 50s to something else, and then go remake your characters.I want to start from scratch and go through the leveling process (another aspect that makes this game fun for me) again with these same characters...but in doing this I would have to delete the characters at level 50 because I have to use the correct names.
So I'm torn...I really do not want to delete the 50s...but I might be done with this game if I don't.
Has anyone done this?
If not...what would you do to keep interest in this game?
Personally, I would skip the above, and suggest making either a rogue Paragon Protector clone of your level 50 character, and outfitting them with either a different colour scheme or similiarly based uniform, and same for the name. Or, make a Praetorian clone of your character who had a change of heart. -
Quote:You have to remember that EU players weren't able to go on Test Server for Halloween Event Test 2009 until much later on in comparison to US players, and it was also mentioned that it may only be temporary (which it wasn't, but still, there was a warning), so many people may not have bothered, and chose to just wait until it went live.Unfortunately, the timing of running the November 18th Winter Event from 4PM-8PM Pacific / 7PM-11PM Eastern doesn't sync up with an optimal EU window. (Note: We want all tests to be performed simultaneously so as not to affect feedback.)
Additionally, we also looked at the number of EU players that logged in for the 2009 Halloween Event Test on the EU Training Room, and based upon the level of participation then, it was decided to focus this on the North American Training Room.
Both of the items above were the determining factors. -
Ninja:
Martial Arts/Ninja Blade/Katana/Claws/Dual Blades/Broad Sword
And Ninjitsu. Or potentially Super Reflexes. Oh come on, you knew it was coming.
For Samurai, the second can just as easily be invincibility (they wear armour, and there's a dodge component, and the unstoppable is what the name on the tin says), along with willpower. :3
Now if you're going for licensed characters, due to how some of them are, they might only exist as Architect characters where you can freely mix powersets. :3 -
I duoed a Crab Spider with a friend who had a Crab Spider too. Really fun.
I'd imagine any combo of VEAT might be fun. Remember you have dual builds so whoever is Night Widow can give Fortunata a try (mix of controller, blaster with defence-based toggles and powers), and remember that Crab Spiders who switch over to Bane build will still have Crab legs. One alternative to Crab is the Wolfspider build (technically Bane Spider, but more focus on gun). -
There is a belt, but it can only be worn when wearing a Robe or Sleeveless Robe item, which is a bit of a ripoff. Hoping the devs will make it available on other Upper Body tops such as Tight or Tops With Skin.

Quote:Coming up in year 20XX, Pimp Walk, Moon Walk and Silly Walk!Well, I like it. Or I will, once we get it back. I kinda wish the male walk was a little more...dramatic? I guess this is meant for heroes and villains in their civvies.
(I wish!) -
Wondering if the Walk Toggle automatically makes MM pets and other pets capable of walking too.
If not, it's a good addition to it in the future!

Quote:Cavern, Eden, and Sewers are all trials though? And even so, you probably don't want to fail those on purpose, since the reason for doing those nowadays is getting badges at the end, haha. It's not a rumor, it's in the patch notes. Of course, as it's passed from one person who doesn't know what they're talking about to the next, it gets more and more distorted.
The way it works is as follows: Failing the last mission of a Story Arc or Task Force will cause the Merit reward to be reduced. The exact reduction depends on the total number of missions in the Arc/TF. Failing missions prior to the final mission does not affect the reward.
Off the top of my head, the following TFs are failable:
Cavern of Transcendance (let the timer run out)
Eden (let the timer run out)
Abandoned Sewers (let the timer run out)
Katie Hannon (let Katie's Soul die)
Though they seem failable, neither Hess nor Hero Respec trials are failable. With Hess, you have already won when the self-destruct is initiated, getting blown up just gets you a little debt. With the respecs, failing the last mission does NOT end the TF. Calling the contact results in them telling you to try again and resetting the last mission.
Every other TF ends with a goal that can't be failed. As such, any TF except the ones I listed will give full merits, unless the team disbands before completing.
Katie's Soul... isn't she a Hero-class entity? How do you get her killed on purpose? All the times we've accidently strayed off course and she aggroed something, she usually mops up mobs with no difficulty, but just takes a bit of time due to preferring single target attacks.
Oh, for LGTF... one shortcut I do regularly is on the last mission: Stealth to the corridor before the final room, clear that out for a breather, and then pull the AVs (and their minions) into the corridor. Once both are down, simply destroy the four generators as fast as possible (pop four purples, or a tier9, or something similiar) without worrying about the mobs surrounding them to end the TF. -
One advantage of Rage with Super Reflexes is that when using Touch of Death sets to increase melee defence bonus, Rage does increase your accuracy (especially if double stacked), balancing the low accuracy in Touch of Death (equal to about one level 50 Accuracy IO bonus, compared to other melee sets with almost two equal level Accuracy SOs).
For feeling 'brutish'... just think of your character as an angry Spider-Man or something, haha. Hitting opponents and getting stronger the more he's worked up, and dodging attacks with a lightning fury. -
Frozen Aura is a sleep, isn't it? It's possible some of your other powers might be accidently waking up mobs. Let's see...
10ft radius <-- range is pretty tiny for a level 38 power
mag 2 <-- does it affect lieutenants?
Or... it could be you're just not close enough?
Either way, I think it's one of the purposely poo powers which you won't feel bad about skipping to get something else. Almost every powerset has a poo power or two to balance it out and allow some power pool choices. -
Just a quick ingame question:
Ms. Liberty's powers come from her belt, the Girdle of Hera / Liberty Belt. Additionally, she has also genetically inherited superhuman strength and durability from her mother, Miss Liberty, who herself genetically inherited her fair share of superhuman strength and durability from her father, Statesman, who as we all know, got his powers by drinking water from the Well of the Furies.
Does this make Ms. Liberty an Incarnate, even if watered down a bit?
