I just want it as alternative summon choice, like how you can pick alternative animations for various moves. Either summon random three sizes decoy, or summon a ghostly current costume version of yourself. In fact, have it apply to Phantasm too. That way, everyone can have their cake.

  3. I'd rather have something like the auras in specific pet IOs, but automatically applied to the leader. Say, 5% res, 5% def to all, 5% damage, 5% tohit focused on the leader with about 40ft radius. The incentive would be the leader gets the 'leadership bonuses' for being the leader, and if teammates say near him, they benefit from his 'leadership skills' or something, haha.

Of course, if solo, then leadership auras don't apply.
  4. Click powers are generally the best bet for procs which inflict debuff or damage on enemies.

    Kindle.

Can you also read txt files like fanfics and the like too on a Kindle? Just curious, or is it just ebooks only?
  6. Before the recharge change to pets, what Force Feedback proc used to do to Phantasm was if it proc'd, it would recharge its attacks faster (allowing it to sometimes summon two decoys). The major tradeoff was that its attack pattern would force it into close combat for an unknown reason (also, one of the main reasons why people would put it into Bruiser from Thugs).

Nowadays, recharge buff or debuff does nothing for Phantasm, and surprise - all pets (controllable and non-controllable) now have close combat enforced mentality *sigh*

  8. To anyone who uses vidiotmap map pack, has anyone noticed a problem with safeguard and mayhem maps?

Basically, it feels like the map isn't aligned with the map display or something. I play in windowed mode, so dunno if that affects it or not, haha.
  9. I'd like Ninja Run and Beast Run alternative animations for super speed and super jump, I guess. Ninja Run and Beast Run alt animations are unlocked by purchasing the relevant booster pack. :3

    Her bio is:

Lady Aufeis hails from the desolate lands
of Antarctica. Undergoing training in the lores
of magic, Aufeis has remained in the coldlands
    for several human lifetimes.

When the youth who would one day be known
as Antarctic Arrow wandered upon her lair, she
aided him, curious as to how he had survived in
the snowy plains for over a year without aid.
With their time spent together, after the boy

marvelling at the progress of humanity in the
    process.

Of course, if Dr. Quaterfield TF comes up as the WST, then I might kick up a fuss - or it will be my incentive to do it then for the ridiculous amount of Reward Merits, haha.

Forget about what might be better or worse, go with whatever you want to pick as your concept, you will probably enjoy it more that way. Shield Defense works with positional values, which can be softcapped with Weave and some set bonuses.

I heard and have been reading about Brutes and they seem to be the best AT for melees to get.
Think of Scrappers and Tankers at different ends of a road (damage and survivability), with the Brute being a car in the middle. The Brute can adjust to being near or at Scrapper damage levels or near the Survivability of a Tanker depending on the team they are in.

I was thinking of SS/SD but I need what you guys think especially for those who has the same powersets.
Two Shield Defense characters will be buffing each other with Phalanx Fighting and Grant Cover, which will be nice.

Also, I wanted to have a hero character but was disappointed to find out that I could only get it through Tanker as SD/SS on the hero side and that means I would have to wait a lot more levels to get the best powers on the SS set. And I wasn't sure if that was just as good or better. But Brute is always fine by me.

Only reason I want a hero is so that I could finally have a hero character (most of my characters were Praetorians and one is villain) so that I could unlock the other epic archtypes but this is the least of my priority. I just want a melee character that can solo really well from 1-50 possibly at least 0/+3 (the more the better) difficulty.

Also, I'd rather not take Electric / SD. A friend already has that and I want to be different when we play together.

    Thank you in advance.
If you have Going Rogue, at level 20, you can switch your Brute into a hero by doing five Rogue tips a day, five more the next day followed by a Morality tip mission, and then you can cross over into Paragon City. Repeat the process with hero tip missions, and you'll become a hero.

Or, start in Praetoria as a Brute and get to Paragon City that way, it's up to you.

    Against all odds
    Shield charge

    Who wins?
Would depend on the primary and level 41+ powers as well, but for pure damage, I'd have to say Fiery Aura would win. Fiery Embrace isn't a normal damage buff, it adds fire damage to every attack you do for 20 seconds, and with Burn no longer fearing mobs away and outputting most of its damage upfront, and with proper slotting can be made to recharge in 10 seconds or less...

    Tier 4 Alpha

Remember that the Tier 4 enhances more stuff (if you go with the Radial), which can also be a factor in choosing what to pick.
  17. My Inv/SS build covers Lethal/Smash/Fire/Cold/Energy/Negative with about 45.1% with one enemy in range, and the usual 90% capped (90.2%) resistance to Smash and Lethal. While originally I didn't plan to go with Fire and Cold, I was pretty close to it anyway and just went to cover it, haha.

Mine takes advantage of the 60 month traveler badge to use Fly on its own, so if you don't want it, feel free to swap it in with Super Jump, as I took Combat Jumping to help boost up global defence as well as a place to put in LotG 7.5%. You may have to shuffle around some powers, of course.

Ty for your time and sorry to bug ya
Basically, if you're starting out of the box:

    Day 1: Five tips
Day 2: Five tips, followed by morality mission -> your character affirms their alignment as either a hero or villain, and earns 50 reward merits
    Day 3: Five tips
Day 4: Five tips, followed by morality mission -> your character affirms their alignment as either a hero or villain, and earns 1 alignment merit (also known as hero merit or villain merit)

Repeat Day 3 and Day 4 repeatedly.

Ideally, your tip mission people should be characters which can do missions quickly. To get tips, you have to defeat enemies which are at least level 20. They can be inside or outside missions, and have a better chance of dropping if it's from a boss-class enemy. If you take part in Task Forces, they will also drop tips frequently for you as well. But just three at a time, and up to five in total a day can be done.

Heroes use their alignment merits in Atlas Park - on the map, look for Fort Trident and go there (should be inside a cave door). Find B.O.T.L.E.R., and next to him is a box of parts. The box is where you click on to exchange your alignment merits for stuff. You can set the level of it too, so move it to level 35, if you're looking for Kinetic Combats.

Villains use their alignment merits in Cap au Diable - on the map, look for The Crucible and go there (should be inside a cave door). Find Trashcan, and next to him is a bin. That's where you click to change stuff.

You can only make one exchange every 20 hours with a character, by the way. If you want, you can also exchange 50 reward merits and 20 million inf for one alignment merit, but that's your decision if you want to go that route.

Hopefully with some kinetic combats and other stuff you get from merits, you can achieve your goal of softcapping.

Bugs fixed so far in my copy:
    • It was not possible to remove slots by double-clicking
    • Some users may experience serious slowdown and flickering when click-and-dragging (I *think* it'll be fixed, but I can't test it)
    • Damage value/graph was beyond the visible range of the window under certain common circumstances
    • It was not possible to mouse-wheel to scroll several windows (recipe viewer, accolades/temps windows, incarnate window, in-game helper). The fix for this improved compatibility with weird mouse wheeling systems like laptop touch pads.
I wasn't aware you could shift-click to remove slots. Learn something new every day! Will make a good workabout for now, hehe.

Other odd consequences of the change are hostile boss targets engaging their escorts. Notably bosses of a different faction than their escort - in Mako's patron arc, you face off against a longbow agent trying to get off the isles with the help of KoA mercenaries. The agent now attacks his escort.
Happens with same factions every now and then - in LRSF, when Ms. Liberty was giving her cutscene speech, one spines Longbow Warden was killing off her Longbow escort with his spines aura, haha.
  21. Has the moving slots bug been hotfixed yet? That's probably the main concern I have at the moment - without the ability to move slots which have already been placed without removing all of them at once, I can't build any new builds, haha.
  22. So we know from the comics when War Witch brought Apex and Horus into her covenspace for final farewells, she mentioned that a new War Witch may look to Apex for guidance in the future.

Apex has since levelled up a lot from his "Level 15 Scrapper" status to doing solo content in Praetoria and returned as a Vanguard Commander. Did he ever find the Praetorian version of War Witch, and if so, did she follow him back?

In Issue 20, I'd like to see Apex's latest sidekick, the Praetorian version of War Witch standing next to him just like how the Phalanx members generally have their sidekicks near them.
  23. All of my characters will go for Very Rare Alpha, it's pretty weird to pass it up just because you don't want to, if the option is there. It's almost like IOs - I put them off for ages because I didn't understand them, nor did I want to - but when I decided to try, I felt stupid for not using them earlier, haha. In fact, my namesake inv/ss Tanker only recently IO'd out properly at the start of i19 with Inherent Fitness, and now he's softcapped to s/l/f/c/e/n with one enemy in range with no endurance problems in a fight (unless he's fighting Recluse in STF for more than 5 minutes without help, haha).

However - it's not a race. Each character will get there in their own time.

Of course, some are more keen to get there faster than others, like my main trio of level 50s, hehe.

One teeny, tiny note though. The Spiritual boosts don't seem to affect the recharge time on Dominator Domination(the inherent not the Mind Hold). I don't know if this is WAI or not.
Spiritual boost only boosts powers which are normally capable of having a recharge enhancement slotted. Domination (and Mind Link for VEAT Widows and Forts, for the curious) do not accept recharge enhancements and thus, are unaffected by Spiritual alphas.

Question on new Mids - once you've placed a slot, how do you go by moving it somewhere else? The old Mids, you just double click it and you can pick it up, but the new Mids doesn't seem to do that anymore? o_O

If by "drop a bomb", if you're thinking of something similar to the Rikti bombs, that's not it. It's more like a floating arachnos symbol-labelled bomb. I've seen the Flyer throw that out a lot of times.
