Fury of the Gladiator 20% Chance Proc?
Burn, procs are useless in Auras, better in FS though if you have the room because of the higher target cap. That is what i have it in, but honestly i think a dmg proc just might be better because its very hard to tell when FotG even works.
Edit: i guess a proc isnt "useless" in an Aura power its just that they are better in attacks, at least ones that fire more than every 10 seconds.

Click powers are generally the best bet for procs which inflict debuff or damage on enemies.

So will Foot Stomp be better because of it range and maxed targets versus Burn? Well I've just checked and FS base-recharge recharges 5 secs faster, however, Burn last a bit longer and it ticks within it's 10 second duration. But does it matter how many targets the power effects becuase Burn has a maxed target of 5 and I think Foot Stomp maxes at 15 targets if not 10. So Burn or Foot Stomp?
As I am writing this, it is more than likely that Burn will recieve this IO Proc because it cannot simply slot the +100% Recharge - 5% chance to proc like Foot Stomp can.

Well, i wonder. In a power like rain and whatnot a proc tix every 10 seconds. Would that mean that it tix's right in the fronted loaded dmg and then again 10 seconds later? And another thing i just thought of is that in order to fit all those procs into FS you end up having to sacrifice dmg slotting, which isnt bad if you use a ton of reds, but since burn caps before its own slotting half the time you could just add some rech to it and then proc the hell out of it. Hmm...

I'd say Aura. Where you'll need the -res the most would be in AV/GM fights, when you won't be using your AoE's that often. If you have Burn in your ST attack chain that changes things, however.

It is indeed in my regular attack chain so ....
AV's? I don't know because I haven't thought that far on how I would play this toon but only to farm so, Burn may be the best candidate to test this.
Thanks Auroxis and Ultrwatt!!!
excellent question. maybe go 4 fotg including the proc and 2 ff, including the proc. get you some knockback protection anyway. i know you wont get any recharge out of it, but, meh.

BA really is not the place to put this, BA ticks way to slow, as for FS yes it hits more targets in a single hit but burn ticks faster than BA and is constantly hitting those 5 targets for way longer resulting in it eventually having more opportunites than either power to proc.

In Burn it will go off whenever you drop burn (and technically at the 10 second mark too just as it expires, maybe). Base recharge of Burn is 25 seconds and again range is 8ft. So slotted up you're talking it having a proc chance every 14 seconds or so, allowing for the animation time of Burn.
Footstomp it'll be every time you fire it off. So base 20 seconds but a 15 ft range. So 12.1 seconds but over a much wider area.
So really it depends on what you want to do with it, if you're intending to fight AVs the answer is probably the aura, since it'll just do it's thing. If you're talking about normal PvE play you could say any of the 3 but I'd personally stick it in Footstomp so more enemies could be hit by it when you trigger it off.
Well not sure on the numbers side of game, but in testing myself and at least 2 other friends have found it works best in burn, must be a case of on initial hit and at the 10second mark, which means it would have the chance twice every 10secs its active to hit, also taking into account io sets, brun rec time is reduced significantly. Mine rec every 5.9 secs and is perma if need be.

Yeah I am not sure either... so I did a test run on a few lvl 50 mobs last night and I was quite amazed on just how Burn burnt them. Not only does it tick much much faster but it also tripple hits each villain, ... I saw three sets of damage points (side-by-side) rise up above each villain's head. Now with BA, I stood there watching and counting ...and it hits every 2 seconds and sometimes it misses as well. Even though Burn is an AoE attackI will still use it against an AV (any dmage available counts), I think it will probablystack 2 hits if its possible. A loooong story short, Burn has my vote.
I have a very interesting (noobish) question to ask. The Fury of the Gladiator 20% chance to cause -20% resistance (to all damage) proc, will this be better slotted into a click power like Burn or will it be more effecient to slot this baby IO into a toggle power like Blazing Aura?
Please, I am very anxious to know this. What do you think is best?
