Do you need 2 different Tier 3's in order to create a Tier 4?

yes, any 2 rares plus a few components and a favor of the well

Yes. Doesn't matter which two, but you need two different Tier 3s in the same tree to make a Tier 4. So, for instance, any two Cardiac Tier 3s can be used, along with the other salvage needed, to make one Cardiac Tier 4.

Ugh, I see where the talk of grinding is coming from. I don't mind working up a tree if I'm getting incremental increases. But to do a whole different branch with zero return isn't all that fun.

I know, then just don't do it.

honestly thats prolly the best for a large amount of poeple, because going from the rare to very rare offers very little difference in terms of how much enhancement you get, if you were already ED capped on a power going from the rare to very rare would at MOST give you an increase of approx 7% (thats for the ones that give 45% enhance)

most of the 33% ones would be a bit less than that, so it would hardly be noticeable in the end, or just provide a long term goal to get to

Good point. As long as Tier 4 doesn't do anything else (like a level boost), I'll treat it like any other purple. Situationally useful, usually not worth it.

I'll probably get it on my BS/DA scrapper eventually. But I'm in no hurry at all to get it. I'll get it in my own time, the game and the Incarnate system aren't going anywhere for quite a while.

My opinion is that unless you are a minmaxer, then just ignore Tier 4. Most of the benefit will come from the Tier 3 and you only get limited benefit from the Tier 4. Although since there is the chance that current Incarnate Components work for only the Alpha slot, then either the option of crafting the Tier 4 to get rid of the Components or break them down.

I have been saving up to build my next rare and very rare, but I won't craft it until I know for sure that I can't use them on the next slot.

from what it sounds like it only shifts you up one level, but idk honestly

i think if it shifted you 2 lvls then it would state it in the description

If the very rare Alpha was going to give us a +2 Level Shift I think there would be a lot more talk about that on the forums.
Talk as in people bouncing off the virtual walls in anticipation for that...

exactly why i doubt it would lol, i usually read things in game as being fairly straightforward and it just says lvl shift i applied, so i assume only +1 shift

::shrug:: seemed like people were bouncing off the walls to me as it was (including me - alpha slot has been my favorite change to this game bar none). I'm going to get it either way (two more notices of the well to go), so I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Just curious. Thanks for the responses!

There are ten Incarnate "slots," "categories," whatever, so I'm guessing each one will come with the opportunity for one level shift, thus eventually getting us to the "equivalent of lvl 60" that was talked about before.

The big thing with a tier 4 is that it ignores the enhancement cap by two thirds. So while a tier 3 gives you a around a spare dual origin's worth enhancement if the value is capped, a tier 4 +45% gives you a spare SO worth.

The tier 4 'only' gives you a +1 combat rank, as it cannot stack with any other alpha. Only one can be active at once after all.

Minor correction. There may be more in the future if the first ten go well.

Not necessarily. 10 slots seems to be the maximum for Incarnate, but they could add another 10 slots with the Deity system. Incarnate seems like making a human into a demigod while the Deity system would be turning a demigod (Full Incarnate) into a god. The Deity system is just something I thought of just to prove that even with an established Incarnate system, it is possible for more improvement by adding more systems.

No, the tier 3 AND the tier 4 give you a level shift. You can only have one active, but you don't have to wait for the 4th tier to get the level shift.
