hey,
I don't know ever spawn point for GMs and I'm sure many other people don't. If we get markers telling us where fires and superadine raids are can we get markers saying where the GM is?
It makes RP sense too. People will report a building on fire and make sure the heroes know where to go but when a giant robot is stomping around no one tells the heroes so they can take care of it? -

I'm gonna throw in the end of Serenity, when River seals herself in the room with the invading Reavers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. Also the bar fight towards the beginning of the movie.
It's a bit newer but I'm gonna throw out Optimus Prime in Transformers two. When he says "I'll take you all on!" and then pulls out the second sword and freaking destroys every deceptacon on screen. I was in my seat cheering. -
Here's something I've been thinking about for a while though I don't see it getting implemented.
Instead of having AOE attacks (since for pistols AOE doesn't make too much since as said) what about having a couple if not all the attacks randomly attack another guy in the spawn. So you Shoot thug one with your attack but thug three gets shot with your other hand. Then there could be a couple where you should the same guy with both guns.
I think this would still give you AOE potential while keeping it more realistic to what someone who actually used two guns would do.
Also:
"Have you ever jumped into the air whilst firing two guns?"
"No."
"Have you ever jumped into the air whilst firing one gun?"
"No."
I wanna jump into the air whilst firing my guns!!! Don't ask me how it'd work, I dunno, I just want to do it. -
I had a spines/EA stalker that I played to the mid 40s. This was before stalkers got buffed but I liked him.
I think there are two disadvantages to spines that makes people not like them: first, no really high damaged single target attack to use after placate, and second the toxic damage can interfer with placate.
But after the buffs that I've heard about for stalkers I think spines seems pretty good. It's more of an AOE type set which is why I think a lot of stalkers don't take it but if you know that going in and are ok with it then I think it would be a very good choice. -
I've also found that it's a great power to use mid combat, but for some reason everyone talks like you have to use it at the end of the battle.
I know sometimes if I've killed off two minions and there's still a LT left at full health, I know that the bodies will be gone by the time I finish him off. Plus I'm already about halfway down healthwise. So I fire off Stygian Circle and then I'm at full health. Often times between my immob and hold I'll take little to no damage the rest of the fight anyways.
Also, for a short time I was soloing on diff 2 before I decided I just didn't have enough AOE to handle it. But for that short time I used it in the middle of the fight a lot. For instance if a Q got a shot off that really drained my health and I killed him and another guy but still have two left and I'm sucking wind, I fire off Stygian circle and then give a small evil laugh and kill the last two.
I'm sure Everyone here already does similar stuff if they need to, I just think it's funny that I always had the impression before I got the power that you were just weird if you didn't always use it at the end of the fight. I was starting to believe it had a 4s activation time actually haha. -
Hey how do you guys slot this nifty little joygasm of a power on your triforms?
I just hit 22 and picked it up and slapped an end mod in it off the bat. I'm considering putting in another slot for either an end mod or a heal, but really I dunno if I need it or not.
Soloing, I finish pretty much every mob with full health and end. If not full then maybe I'm 5% under. True, there's the times when the whole mob seems to run or I knockback more than I woulda liked and I can only manage to get one guy in the radius, but I don't really feel like planning around something that only happens 1/10th of the time.
And can I just take this opportunity to say that this power ROCKS!! My one complaint about my WS was that I was always low on end and health at the end of every battle so I had to fill up on blues and greens in order to be able to go straight from mob to mob, but not anymorePlus I love the animation. The Awesome green balls of life, man that's what rad should look like in my opinion. And the recharg outta the box is great which doesn't happen to often.
Well, thx for the help. -
when I was creating my binds lately I had a problem where I had to replace the quote marks. Not sure if that's your problem or not but it's worth a try. Just manually delete and retype them. Other than that it looks fine to me, but I'm not expert.
-
I could go for this. It sounds like a nice little thing that'll help out. As you said, one of the things I'm really looking forward to is being able to make my powers look alike.
I hadn't even thought about being able to make Hasten, that glowy oddball that you almost always take on almost every character, match colors. That'll be great!! -
The no Self heal is probably the part that you'll feel the most. I know that if my scrapper wasn't DM/shield I would probably go outta my way to get aidself.
With just generic slotting (which is what I use) I kind of classify shield as the same as fire defense. The set offers you more offense ability while sacrificing a small amount of defense that other sets may have.
If you like to play really aggressive then I'd say you'll like the set, but if you're someone who lets the battle draw out, you'll prob find it a lot harder. -
...but now I'm getting kinda addicted to triform. I didn't calculate how awesome black dwarf is compared to White dwarf.
I haven't done the double mire too much yet but I've grown fond of being able to mire and then either gravity well + blast a guy or switch to nova and use my AOES before it wears off.
My original plan was to be mostly human using dwarf for just mez resistance and the mire but I'm starting to love the triform. I think I'll still make that as my other build though.
As a side note, what were the devs thinking when they made nova form? I mean, perma flight, two great AOEs, more damage...I'm surprised I didn't get all my debt badges by level 20. I find myself making excuses to my teams, claiming that I'm just good friends with the floor and I wanna have a chat every now and then, but I think they know the truth...I'm addicted to putting up those awesome orange numbers...whether my teammates are next to me or clear across the map.
Well that's all I got. Oh, and yes, this post doesn't really have much point. -
yea I just went in and when making the bind I just replaced the quote marks and that worked fine.
Boy this is so much nicer. I shoulda went ahead and made the binds earlier. Being lazy sucks! -
ah I see. Yea I was being lazy and didn't feel like reading about what binds are, just didn't feel like remembering how to type one haha. Thx man
-
Hey I'm using one of the guides for making binds for my Warshade but it's not working.
I used this bind:
/bind t goto_tray 2$$powexec_toggle_on dark nova
but I got an error message saying that the command go to was not recognized. Have the bind commands changed and there's something else that we have to use now or is this a bug? -
Ok, I just wanted to see if there was some odd loophole that I hadn't thought of. What I have in mind should work out well then
-
Hmm I see. Yea I was planning on doing the grav emenation + inky aspect thing. I guess I'll fit in the shields where needed.
So what do you do about mezzers though? This is the thing that really has me hung up. I did an all Human PB and it was really fun until I started running into mezzes and knockback around every corner.
I know that there's IOs for knockback but how do you handle the mez? -
Hey,
So I'm wondering if I should bother that much with my human form shields. Normally there'd be no question till I read a guide for a human/dwarf build and the guy said he never took the shields. That got me thinking.
This is all for while I'm playing solo. Once I take inky aspect, I'm thinking port in to have all the minions mezzed, kill something off real quick and then unchain essence. From what I've heard this should kill stuff off very quickly (Along with the rest of my attacks that is).
So, if you're effectively taking minions outta the running every single mob. will Lts still be enough to take you down?
Right now my plan is to be basically a human form only WS with Dwarf from for the occaisional mez resistance and mire.
As a side note: Aren't there mez resist IOs? I seem to remember though that they just lessen the time the mez lasts. Any way I can get around using dwarf form for protection? -

These were never told to us as anything but temp powers.

Well, except for Positron's post right here where he specifically says that they are working on adding jetpacks into the game.
I used to have a link that was even older where JLove said he was exhausted from the 30+ jetpacks that he just got done creating for the game. That post has long since been deleted in the many forum purges.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea that's the post I was remembering. Long, long time ago when Jay said he'd just made a whole slew of jetpacks. Well it'd certainly be nice if we got quivers, jetpacks and sheaths with I16. Those are three things that I've really wanted for a while.
It's too bad the EATs seem to have been scrapped. Although I understand wanting to get more powersets out that everyone can use, and I enjoy all new powersets that get released, I do greatly enjoy having a big huge long story arc on one of my characters from 1-50. -
Let me just start off by saying that this isn't a rant. I'm not complaining, not yelling at the devs, not really begging or anything of the sort. I'm just curious.
I was thinking earlier during work (because I have nothing better to do) about a couple things that devs talked about coming out with that we never really saw. I'm talking about things that we've heard about a long time ago, like years. I'll list a couple. It's possible that they've just been backburnered for whatever reason and I don't really have a problem with that because I've been a big fan of the content coming out anyways.
Jetpacks - This is the one that I'm most curious about. I coulda sworn that I remember Jay saying a long time ago around the first time we got the jingle jet or maybe when villains got mayhem missions that he had something like seven different jetpacks worked up for us. Only thing is we never saw any of them. I'm not talking about the temp powers. I'm talking about stuff like rocket boots or wings, a part of your costume that animates when you fly.
Archnemesis system - I remember Posi talking about this a long while back. Now, it's possible that this simply morphed into the AE system that we have now but I'm not sure. You were supposed to be able to find clues to your archnemesis, customize his powers and outfit and such, and then take him down. It sounded like a really fun system even with AE already out so I was wondering.
Street Fighting Powerset - Now I dunno if the Devs ever actually said they were gonna do this or not but I sure know that it's something that a lotta people want. Some kinda scrapper powerset that was a mixture of kicks and punches and dirty tricks. I really thought that when willpower came out that this was not far off since the two seemed to mesh easily in my head or maybe that was just me. Again, dunno if this was something we were ever actually gonna get or not.
Avillians and Coralax EATs - I thought I remembered these being mentioned a lot as upcoming EATs. Now Avillians may have been shelved since I think their main purpose was to give us wings and we already got them but what about Coralax? Also, these EATs were supposed to be unlocked through means other than getting a 50 so more people could experiance them. I'd dearly like more EATs although all the new powersets that come out regularly are good enough for me too I guess.
Well those are the things that I had off the top of my head. Anyone know what happened? Also, as a side note, are we gonna get more costume pieces to craft? When inventions came out I was under the impression that we would but I guess that coulda been later judged to be a bad idea.
Well thanks for reading. -

Favorite- Clockwork. Because they amuse me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Haha. The other day I was sitting around thinking " Wow, you know what would be really fun, a clockwork invasion event like the zombie attacks."
I dunno why exactly. I guess partially because of the comic when they're fighting a giant clockwork invasion and I wanna do that. Specially if it ended with having Clockwork king spawn as a monster and Babbage or Paladin spawn as an EB at the same time, that might be too intense though.
EDIT: of course it could also just be that I wanna run around durring the event screaming "ROBOTS!!!!!!!" haha -
Hey guys, just a little thread for fun here. I was wondering what people's most and least favorite annoying mobs are. I'm thinking primarily of the late game mobs like malta, carnies, and the such but feel free to throw out any that you think qualify. And please give your reasons otherwise it's no fun! I'll go first:
Most favorite - Psi Clockwork - It kinda surprised me. I felt like my shield scrapper had just enough defense against them that I could survive but not enough that it was really easy. They go down fast but they hurt you on their way down.
Least Favorite - Carnies - I like their costumes, I like the weird and kinda fun story behind them, I like most of their powers, but I hate end drain from every single minion I take down. If I wasn't playing a melee class right now maybe I'd feel differently.
Somewhere in the middle - 7th Generation Paragon Protectors - They'd be my favorite if it wasn't for the fact that after a finish a mission full of these guys I never wanna see them again for at least 2 days. I like having to make my attack chain different so they don't use their tier 9 powers but it's inevitable that you'll mess up a couple times so I hate sitting there and just wiffing on two guys for a minute till it comes down.
Ok now it's your turn! -
I would try to make my PB stuff like the WS stuff and my WS stuff like the PB stuff...See if I can really confuse anyone.
-

In a tell: Dude, wtf r you?
And I'll add in myself that when I first rolled a WS after hitting 50, I went several levels(10-12ish..I remember going through Atta in Human because of it) after picking up Nova, thinking I had to train for the Nova form attacks. I don't remember exactly how I found them but needless to say, I felt pretty stupid
[/ QUOTE ]
Haha, pretty sure I did the same thing. It only lasted a level or two for me though. I think I noticed them one time when I was adding slots and said to myself "Where the hell did those come from?" -
but SD does have resistances. You get about 21% resistance to smashing, leathal, energy, neg energy, fire, cold and maybe toxic? This is all after you slot with SOs of course.
Even with just generic slotting and not softcapped defenses my DM/SD is extremely survivable. Of course my DM attacks do stack with the defense so that helps and I do have a self heal. I do think other power combos would need aidself, but it would work out very well.
I think that the thing you're missing is that you also get against all odds and shield charge. These two powers help out your dps a lot and so you kill stuff quicker. Dead things can't hurt you. -
Hey guys,
I recently decided to start putting some procs into my one character. I do have a few questions though.
1. (I know this has been asked before but I can't remember the answer) Is there any icon that appears in your buffs when the proc triggers. One of mine is a +To Hit proc so I figured there might be an icon when it goes off.
2. For an aoe proc, does it do a roll for each individual enemie that's hit with the attack? I have a chance for build up slotted in my soul drain and was wondering if it might go off twice or so if I get 10 guys in the attack. If it's just a roll for each time the power is used then I might rather put it in FA later when I respec.
3. What's the rule with toggles again? I seem to remember something like it triggers every minute or two or something like that.
4. What are some good procs for Dark Melee/Shield Scrappers. I'm only really interested in cheap ones that are nice to have, not the ones that'll cost 400 mil influence.
Thanks for the help -
I'm a level 47 DM/SD scrapper. I never took it and don't really have any problems without it. I'm not built around taking down AVs, but I do regularly solo on Unyielding and faceplants are pretty rare.
