  1. Ugh... boo for out of date wiki information.

WTB more than 18 storage racks for a base!
  2. So I decided to start a second SG and coalition it for the express reason of throwing up some more storage containers.

    SG1 invited SG2 to a coalition.

SG2 member enters SG1 base and tries to grab something out of the storage bins. "You don't have permission to use this object"

I can't seem to find any sort of coalition settings in the SG settings panel or the permissions tab for the individual storage bins. Where do I go about changing those settings?
  3. Pretty sure you still take the hit, I know you do with the Rage crash from super strength.

One more question, though. What's a good way to get influence? I hear about people "farming" missions, but I never know exactly what they're talking about. Do they just re-run missions that have large, easy mobs in them? I have a level 36 ar/dev blaster, so I'm just trying to find a good income.
Yeah, the idea of "farming" a specific mission is to get one that suits your powerset well and then not complete it. Clear most of the mobs on the highest difficulty that you can, then leave and select task to a different mission to reset the "farm" mission then do it again.

Another functional way to farm if you don't have a character well suited to it is to farm up some AE tickets and roll off a bunch of 30-34 bronze class rolls. There are some recipes there that are 10+ mil easy. Just roll off your tickets, hit the market and see which are valuable. Craft them and sell em.

Don't... it's fantastic. I rarely feel like I *must* grab travel powers now. Sometimes I do late build, or for concept... but I don't feel like I have to. I like that.
  6. I frequently team with my kids who are playing just next to me at the next desk. Sometimes one or the other of us cannot see the marker on the map for the other person. It happens on both PCs, and is intermittent. It may work one map and not the next.

Also, mouseover information for enhancement from quartermasters is intermittent as well. The mouseover info for all other things works just fine, but a lot of the time when going to purchase things from various quartermasters it simply is not there which is a huge pain in the butt if you don't have the enhancement names memorized.

Anyone have any thoughts on what game settings I may need to tinker with to get these fixed?

I am a big fan of using level 30-33 IOs, because I can exemp down to 27-30 and keep my set bonuses, the enhancement difference between 30 and 50 is not really that great, I get set bonuses to use from 30 to 50, and IOs at 30-33 are, as a rule, MUCH cheaper than the level 50 versions. They are, mind you, not nearly as plentiful, so you'll have to learn to place bids and wait in some cases... but that's how I like to do it.
This. I generally solo, and have only run one tf/sf ever... but I exemp a lot to play with my kids, also, oro arcs to check out things I may have missed. At sub30 your build hasn't completely matured and content is generally fairly easy. 30+ however, I really like having those set bonuses and a fully functional build. Whats the point in raking in massive recharge speed bonuses if you lose them every time you drop below 47?

That's actually been my biggest aggravation since returning to the game recently. The incarnate system means people are so focused on 50 content that the 30ish recipe market is almost completely dry! Tempts me to bring my demon summoner to 30 and lock off his xp to farm stuff up.
  8. Actually, I'll second that. I built a little 3 mission arc and it was a lot of fun to get in and learn the system then tell the story. Thumbs up

I don't want to be boxed into that. My Bots are retired, as are all my MMs, until this is fixed.

I'm not saying it's not a buggy AI. I'm not saying it doesn't need fixed.

I'm saying it's a minor nuisance that's easily remedied, and not nearly crippling to the point that I have to shelve the character.
I agree with both sides of this. It *is* buggy and should be fixed, it is one of my primary aggravations with my MM and one of the main reasons I'm looking around for another character to try and focus on. However, it's not crippling and pretty easy to work around if you use a good pet control bind system and pay attention to what you're doing.

I would REALLY like it if "goto" made them stay in place. Yeah, they go there and stand for 5 seconds or so but when I point out a place I want them to sit, I would like if they sit there until I tell them otherwise. Or even better the "goto" command lasts until they are no longer in combat, then it reverts to the follow command. (I assume the game has some sort of in/out of combat marker since the costume aura functions have different listings for an all the time aura and a "combat" aura)

    Team Dynamics

    Justice Eh?

Blueside or Red? If you're red, that's my home and I could help you get on your feet if you need a hand with anything. I tend to keep my servers exclusively one side.

Red on Justive Blue on Freedom and alts EVERYWHERE from when my kids play :P
  11. So I'm aware that you cannot directly slot recharge into this power, it does take defense sets however. Can you frankenslot this sucker with defense/recharge IOs to stack up some recharge in there or does the recharge portion just not have any effect since it doesn't take recharge enhancements?
  12. OP, try out something completely new to you. If you have even the slightest bent toward RP then come up with a concept that you like rather than picking a powerset. That way you have an idea that is interesting to you and fun, and then you can fit the mechanics to your idea.

If you haven't tried one before, check out masterminds. They are a completely different animal from the other ATs and can be a lot of fun. Between pet management, secondary powerset and maybe even a couple attacks in your primary, you can end up with a lot going on. I recommend sandolphins keypad binds from the sticky in the MM forum if you do end up checking one out. Maybe a demons summoner/thermal hellfire themed character or something.

Basically, the general answer boils down to: Check out something you don't already have in your list. or, reroll something you have now and enjoy a lot, but with a slight variation. Switch from Katana to broadsword or twin blades, that kinda deal. Or... let your sub expire and take a week or two off, that can really help my enjoyment of the game every now and again.
  13. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's not the toxic or standing in something. Everything will be fine, then all of a sudden (likely when an LT dies) they just start getting HAMMERED. No worries, I know what to watch out for now so it's all good. Wasn't a really big deal, just wanted to figure out what was going on so I could adjust my play to accommodate it.
  14. Perfect, thanks! That'll teach me for skimming and thinking I remember how things actually work.
  15. Both wiki pages I could find for this memorization badge listed that I need to make 12 and 12 of the end redux and the end mod enhancements.

It is stuck at 75% (18 of 24) which would support the 12 and 12 numbers... however, I just crafted 15 level 50 end redux, 1 45 end redux, 15 50 end mod and 5 45 end mod. Is there something I'm missing here?

I'm not actually farming any specific missions. I leveled this character with a lot of tip missions, a few arcs and a little bit of AE for rare salvage ticket purchases. So I've not done a lot of the later arcs. I'm clearing through a lot of those both for kill farming to get some incarnate shards and to score some reward merits for doing them. Haven't set anything aside as a "farm" yet. I was originally thinking of the nem TV mission since I had done it a bit on my brute, but seeing how they treat my defense based bots that's just not gonna happen.

Beat me to it, this certainly qualifies as epic to me, and is part of the reason that I chose a widow for my next project.
  18. Thanks all for the quick responses, good to know.

  19. So I've been working on my bots/traps MM lately, just got to 50 and have been running some stuff to farm for shard drops. Now, my bots are straight up softcapped (45.4% to all but psi), but something in these nem spawns is just shredding them like they're mercy island fresh meat. I actually failed a mish because my bots just kept dropping so fast I couldn't defend the person I was supposed to be rescuing (set at a nice easy +0/3).

I didn't see anything that looked like it might be tagged as Psi damage. Anyone have any ideas which mobs are the ones ripping me apart? I'd like to know so I can make them a priority target, because this is just not an experience I've had against most factions.
  20. Thank you sir, that is a fantastic response. The suggestions on sets and such are very much appreciated.

As I've tinkered with a couple ideas and thrown a few things around one did pop up that I had not thought about before. How do Arachnos Widow's do in this department? At first glance it looks like they can get respectable defense numbers, stealth, team buffs and the build trees offer the choice of either ranged or melee and I could even maintain a build for each if I decided I wanted to do so, with an eventual 3rd build specifically for teaming or something.

The more I look at the idea the more I like it, but I haven't taken a real hard look at mids to see exactly where their defense numbers come in line compared to some of the other ATs. Anyone got one they've tried out and willing to offer up their experiences?
  21. Just a quick question regarding bindfiles. I've not used files before, do I need to load it each time I play the character, or once I load the files is it saved to the character as the standard binds are?
  22. That, sir, is fantastic.

I'm only on for a few minutes (expecting my tabletop RPG group at the door any minute) so I've not tested the bindfiles yet, but the quick bind command worked like a charm.

Will check out the bind files later on, as that functionality would be nice for the few of my characters that do use combat jump, and easy to modify should I end up running a hoverblaster type too. Though, to be honest I don't much like hover and would likely end up using CJ anyways if I want to squeak out that last little bit of defense.

    A million thanks.
  23. Very much appreciated. I cannot get it to work with a key down to activate one power, and key up to activate another. I know that when you do it that way you have to hold the key down to allow for the short delay required between activating powers, I just can't figure out the syntax required to make it work.

I was browsing the forums a week or two back and saw a thread about doing that with forcefield bubbles which is what got me thinking about doing it this way. I can understand why they did it this way to prevent abuses of the bind system, but it makes it a pita for non-abusive quality of life things like this. I am pretty sure there is a way to do it, I'm just not able to gather the proper train of thought to get it done right now. oh well, maybe someone will stumble in here that knows it, or I'll track down that thread or something.

I got a pretty functional setup right now that I press T T to turn on ninja run and sprint, then G to toggle them both off and switch to Combat Jumping. It's pretty functional. Not quite perfect as I wanted, but much better than managing multiple clickies on an alt bar.
  24. Excellent response, thanks a ton.

I realized I didn't really clarify one point much. When I say "on a budget" I just mean something reasonable that doesn't have 3 purple slots and everything under the sun tricked out. I'll be using mostly set IOs as I get moving and trick things out a bit. I think I've got somewhere around 800 mil inf in liquid assets and close to that much in IOs/salvage tucked away in my base. I made most of my money over a year ago, so it has suffered a bit from inflation, it was a bigger nest egg then than it is now, but I'm not poor and perfectly capable of making more should I find the toon very much to my liking and really want to trick it out.
  25. Well, I do have a bots MM so I'm used to seeing a lot of small numbers and not worrying too much about that. I was more thinking in terms of that "Ugh, it took 3 full attack cycles to kill a minion" feeling I'm getting when I level. Maybe as I get a more robust attack chain and such that will drop away a bit. Worth giving it a shot I suppose though. Thanks for the feedback.
