So, I guess this is really more of a comment than a question...
I wrapped up the Shadow Spider arc tonight, big finale to hunt down Agent Crimson. So, he's an elite boss (SS/WP brute, mostly IO sets. Nothing huge, but respectable).
Np at all right... except he starts to flee at 75% life.
While I have a slow effect on me. (Immob actually, but resisted down to slow if I was reading the icon right while I was cussing at the screen)
My knockdowns don't do a thing. My Patron immob also not powerful enough to even put a falter in his step as I stand there rooted with every attack animation while he blissfully runs away. Out the door he goes and I'm left there slack jawed with zero reward for the arc and as near as I could tell, not a damned thing I could do about.
Kinda irate right now... -
Support regen for villains!
NEED level 6 stam regen. Low level stam issues are bar none the most aggravating part of the game. I cant count the number of toons that have been deleted because I just wanted to slam my head in the door being out of stam every other fight. -
Thanks for the feedback. The arc is very playable at the moment, full text for all the intros and exits from each mish, proper nav text, speech from NPCs etc. The 'story' as it were, is fully functional as a 3 piece arc and really wouldn't require any more missions to be complete, they were just additional ideas I wanted to develop.
So while I want to add a couple more missions, the arc is essentially in a finished state. That said, as it is the first arc I have worked with, I am really interested in any feedback people might have to offer. If I have any bad habits for the text, or in game objectives (something that stands out alright to me, may not to someone else) I would love to get to break those habits before I start in on more arcs down the line.
I do appreciate at least getting a response of some sort however. -
So I'm interested in making a custom boss with specific powers etc... but I would like to use an existing model. For example I want to make a model that uses the Rikti Priest model, but has powers and a level range of my choosing.
It's entirely possible I just missed this type of option as I was rifling through the MA interface... can anyone direct me to it? Or is this something that is just not possible at this time? -
Mission 3 has been added, any feedback would be much appreciated.

Well, I restarted my account recently for CoH and decided to tinker around with the AE mission arc creator. If anyone is interested in checking out what I have done so far and offering critique/feedback I would be appreciative. Heck... if you wanted to toss a rating my way at the end that would be super too.
That said, it is a work in progress. I had 2 mish's done and plan 4 to 5, so I am more looking for people to check technical things instead of the story itself. Does everything flow ok, objectives easy to understand etc. In mish 2 I used Rikti crates in a warehouse that has a lot of other crates... I think they're easy enough to see the difference, but want to see if anyone else considers them too difficult to find amidst the others etc. Also in mish 2 I have some polish to add, currently all 3 crates are generic and the groups around them say the same things... same goes for the hostages you have to rescue. I would like to make each a specific objective with their own text and such, but that's just polish I can come back and change later after I have the meat of the arc done.

Title Freakshow Betrayal
If anyone has interest and time I would love if you could play through it then pop back here and leave me some feedback. In game feedback options seem a bit limiting and such, I much prefer a message board format. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to check it out!
Edit: The enemies are freakshow, so if you don't like fighting them, skip it! Also any comments on story text that seems awkward or unclear would be great if you notice any. -
Quote:This.
i usually dont play heroside much because the low lvl zones i feel are way too big, most of the time i just play redside and kill stuff on the way to mishs because it helps lvl faster
I started the game with some friends who had heroes and were trying out CoV a bit after it was released. So I started red side. After starting on red side... moving to blue was about as much fun as slamming my junk in a car door. I don't think I have a hero over level 10 to date. I am currently working on a couple of them though, thank the gods for AE. I can level a lowbie hero without spending 15 minutes running around between every mish.
That said... at low levels, suicide can be a great option for travel. Always called it "Taking the tunnel" or "The Tunnel Express". Strictly habitual. When you died in Shadowbane you got a loading tunnel while you loaded back to town. So killing someone was "sending them down the tunnel" or something similar. Just an old habit that carried over for me. -
Just take a look at the enemy groups before you accept the arc. If it is custom, you may have something to worry about. If no, you're good to go XP wise.

/signed. This needs to be added.
Heck, I just reactivated and the AE creator was part of the reason why. The very first arc I tried to write... I wanted this option to set up the conspiracy. So very first idea I had... shot down. -
That's truly unfortunate...
I guess a good workaround is to have the Freakshow boss that I have already placed, and then place the Rikti boss separately. I can dictate one at back and one at mid, then have the Rikti boss complaining that Killswitch is late or something to that effect. That would place both bosses who are working together, and give a sense of the conspiracy even though I cannot place them together and have linked dialogue for them. -
Ok, so I am just starting to tinker with creating my own arc.
I understand how to use the text options to make the boss give story teaser info when the players approach... but what I do not understand is how to place a second boss and force it to spawn at the same location as the first.
I am trying to have two bosses from separate factions interacting to set up the conspiracy that the arc delves into.
Is this an option in the "boss group" section that I missed? Or is there some option in adding a second boss tab that I also missed that allows me to force them to spawn together?
Any help is much appreciated. I am starting to sift through the stickies here, but there is a LOT of material there and honestly, I don't really need most of it as the system is relatively self explanatory on the surface. -
Thanks all for the clarification!
EDIT: Here's a bit of useless information. Proc was originally dev talk shorthand for Process back in the early days of MMO development. So if a weapon had a chance for extra damage on attack, that damage was a Process which would trigger when certain conditions were met (In most cases, and attack was made and the random number generator cam up over/under a specific target).
So technically, this is not a global effect but rather a Process which is triggered by specific conditions (in this case, the use of the relevant power, or a 10 second interval for always on/toggle powers).
Useless info/technicality over, thanks for the info -
I was just curious how exactly this was figured. I managed to score myself a Regenerative tissue, +regen tonight and I was thinking about throwing that sucker into my Fast Healing on my willpower brute.
Now, fast healing is always on, but Regen tissue is a proc. I seem to remember reading a long time ago that procs in "always on" powers have a chance to fire every 10 seconds or something? Or maybe that was toggle powers.. trying to decide if I want to make a pretty penny on the market, or pimp out my regen a little more! -
Well, as someone newly returned to the game this thread was of interest to me since they market left me far far behind with inflation while I was gone.
I would have to throw my vote behind the random rolls vote. Not only do you have a shot at potentially getting something you might want to use (LoTG maybe?) you can get some decent payoff recipes. I think I scored 4 KB protections in like 60 rolls just playing around a bit this afternoon and evening. Considering they go for around 10 mil crafted... that's respectable. Also got a few other recipes that went for a few 100K for the recipe, and one that went for 7mil crafted, though I did use tickets to buy a couple pieces of expensive rare salvage to craft it.
I suppose either way works really. Buying rare salvage is less work, though potentially less return as well. -
So I've recently returned to the game and have my homey little one man SG (well, 2 man I guess... me and my son). I like the convenience of having my private storage tables and such, but am interested in hooking up with a SG for some teaming and such.
Is it considered bad form to ask an existing SG to add a one man show to a coalition instead of outright joining them? I don't want to step on anyones toes or put forth something that is considered rude or offensive... so I figured I would check before I started poking around. -
Just a nitpick... a fire mage, a frost mage, an arcane mage and a frostfire bolt mage will all play in vastly different ways. They are just as different as the different power sets within an AT here.
-
I realize I'm a bit late to the discussion here... but just wanted to toss in my 2 inf.
I have several characters with names that I found, liked etc and were still available. However, after a string of attempted names that were taken I decided to go with a naming theme. Specifically a prefix.
Zen Chain Reaction (Brute with a chain themed costume)
Zen Critical Mass (Corr with rad/rad)
Etc etc. By adding the Zen as a prefix I have pretty much opened up any names I want to use, as well as made it easy to recognize my alts for any friends I should make in game. -
Quote:Well, I was unaware that the forums here trimmed quote tunnels automatically. It was really more a response to the person who was being quoted by the poster I quoted, and I just included both for completeness sake. What Rajani meant was that once you have reactivated your account, use the tool "Invite-Back" sending an invite to your son's account. That gets your account some free time for sending the invite and another account that will be 100% safe to use for the SG invites.
This was really more what I was talking about in clarifying that my son's account was inactive. -
Quote:Well, my son's account is inactive as well... so just knowing the login and password wouldn't really do me much good. Might go ahead and reactive for him though. We shall see. Unfortunately, it looks like trial accounts can no longer join SG's... bleh. Kinda crappy that they give you no tools to do your own transfers and then eliminate the workarounds. And if it's been offline more than 90 days, he can do the "Invite-back" as part of that reactivation and get the "free"/extra time as well...
EDIT: Thanks for the thoughts Fury. Was just hoping to not have to tinker with other people, base permissions and all that and just be able to do ti at my leisure and convenience. Ah well. -
Thanks all for the answers. I was hoping in the time I had been gone something had been done to work out these problems... but I guess not.
Quote:Same issue I have, except I have 5 kids between 10 and 4 months, heh. I already have a SG with full salvage racks and storage tables and such... I just need to get the new toons tagged to be able to make use of them.I'd like to know too, glad you posted that. I solo on Freedom a lot (having a baby to get up every 5min. for = soloing a lot). Having my own VG for all my brutes, stalkers, and MM's would be win.
The quick answers are much appreciated! -
So I used to play with my son, so we had two active accounts. I just restarted my account, but as it's the schoolyear, he's not playing at the moment.
So now, with only one account... is there any way to get an invite sent to my own alt villain that I would like to create? Also, is there any way to just straight transfer int to my alt without a second person? I know there are market shenanigans that can be done... but bleh.
Thanks for any info that anyone has to offer! -
Quote:Great responses in this thread, very much appreciated. I have already submitted a ticket and am just waiting on a friendly neighborhood GM to get my power turned back on.Incorrect, Necro.
This is a known issue when a base has been let go for an extended period of time. You can enter it (because rent has been paid up) but there is still no power.
Sometimes the issue has been reported to be fixed by moving stuff around, but that's only hearsay. However, I know for a fact that a GM can quickly fix the issue for you.
Humility - send in a quick /petition to get a GM to turn it back on for you.
In related news, one of the reasons I ended up coming back to CoX was a discussion on with some friends in a different game that turned to community, and how the best MMO community I have ever encountered was for CoX. Great peeps here. -
Ok, so I visited the SG registrar in port oakes and was told that I was all paid up on rent. I returned to my base and still have the same problem.
I have an Energy Terminal room with a basic generator (1000 energy) and two circuit breakers (150 each) so I should have 1300 energy available. My base lists 535 consumed, 0 produced.
I do have several storage containers (3 enhancement, 1 base salvage and a vault) so there should be at least some rent to be paid I would think... but the registrar says I'm all paid up. I guess it's time to put in a ticket.
If anyone else has any thoughts to try while I'm waiting, any help would be most appreciated.
EDIT: I also tried selling and re-placing the generator just to see if that would reset it, and it had absolutely no effect.
