Shadow Spider redside arc

So, I guess this is really more of a comment than a question...

I wrapped up the Shadow Spider arc tonight, big finale to hunt down Agent Crimson. So, he's an elite boss (SS/WP brute, mostly IO sets. Nothing huge, but respectable).

Np at all right... except he starts to flee at 75% life.
While I have a slow effect on me. (Immob actually, but resisted down to slow if I was reading the icon right while I was cussing at the screen)

My knockdowns don't do a thing. My Patron immob also not powerful enough to even put a falter in his step as I stand there rooted with every attack animation while he blissfully runs away. Out the door he goes and I'm left there slack jawed with zero reward for the arc and as near as I could tell, not a damned thing I could do about.

Kinda irate right now...

Yep. It's a horribly designed mission. It's really jarring because I find most of the Villain arcs to be excellent, and then you hit this one.

He's resistant to slows, holds, and immobs and unless you're a Dominator with Domination up you're not going to fair too well. I believe he also has some form of Quickness and Elude also. Because giving him speed buffs just make it so much better.

Biff from Terrence Dobbs is the other EB who will take off early in the fight and has many of the same resists causing you to fail that mission too. Not sure what the design philosophy behind those two missions is besides a really heavy handed encouragement to get Doms to team with you.

Sorry you had to find out the hard way, but next time be sure to drop those missions and it'll keep you much happier. And your blood pressure a lot lower.

Almost like that one EB that dimension shifts you every so often... If I didn't have spiderlings and such, my crab would have never been able to counter his regen, due to being locked down half the time.

"My inner mind has become a reality-cracking overgod. He torments me! Help!"

If you have a -Jump power and a narrow doorway you can block his path, but it's far from fool proof. Best to bring a Dom or a couple of people with Immob powers.

Crimson doesn't have higher than standard boss immobilize protection. A well-slotted patron immobilize should do the trick

Well... my brute doesn't exactly slot to maximize the immob effect, but rather for set bonuses.

I usually drop the Crimson Gonzalez mission.

That said, this guy:

...is probably a Ballista. I just failed Viridian's Rescue Tub Ci mission last night. He kept me chain-dimension-shifted the entire time. All I could do was /em dance and keep my Dull Pain clone up in case it ever dropped. Four ambushes later, Tub Ci was dead and I was still dancing.
