Citadel (stupid caves)
I'm tempted to say Quarterfield but I won't. -
If I was building a pvp pb, I would shoot for 47.5% global range boost.
(thats 7.5% x 5 and 10% x 1)
2 glad javs and/or 2 jav volleys give the 7.5's
and 3 Glad Net's for the 10% (in Incandescent Strike)
and 1~3 Centrioles in your primary attacks.
As fas as office map. I would do nothing but play Taunt bot so a 4~6 slotted Antagonize would be nice.. -
Quote:so excited.9 pm est on Sundays is what Im shooting for.
Glad to hear it Lib. Im hoping that when Ocho gets backs from vacation we can talk to him about getting free server transfers to save pvp.
can't freaking wait.
let's do this stuff.

ooh, look. i censored myself.
Without the free server trans, i forsee 2 leagues forming (champ and freedom).
Obviously one strong league is better.. -
Quote:I've always like dark blast for dueling when combined with a primary without a heal.I want to make a kin defender for pvp
but i cant decide on whether to make it kin psi or kin dark. what would be better, or actually, whats the best secondary for fender pvp to go with kin?
thanks for you critisism, comments, advice, and name calling
Like a Cold/dark..
The -tohit is somewhat effective if you're only gonna duel.
Psi or sonic seem like way better choice's.
Psi's got the base range of 100 unlike the other blasts, which is pretty important..
Psi's got a nice attack chain and animation times etc etc.
pfft, Wormhole. -
heya Sant. Your really not gonna be able to use all those melee attacks in PvP..
If it were me, I'd only slot 1 or 2 melee attacks.
If yer taking Soul Mastery you might as well pickup Soul Storm. The hold can set up your melee attack then can be followed up with a Dark Blast.
I added some thoughts to your build and some kb protection (only 32)

Quote:Anyone have a great fire/pain build? Money isn't too much of an issue.
Ive never had a Pain or a Corrupter.
ill post a build since no one else has..maybe give you some ideas.
also depends what kind of pvp you prefer (zone/arena/offensive/healz only etc..)
I put slots in Rest for Stamina and Health (in i19)
I would use something simular to this build for larger arena teams with focus towards healing over attacking..

if you wanted to go more offensive you might want Aim, Blaze, Tactics.
you could drop Fireball, Soothing Aura, Rain of Fire, Anguish Cry..
up to you, alot more option's once Fitness is inherent -
I could help with the scouting if you want, I could prolly scrounge up a kronos too.
I dont have any toons with a stormy like name so I wouldn't be teaming.
-@Hinden -
Watch your step!
old picture's of a IoP (Item of Power).
they rotated and had light randomly shooting thru the sphere..
-
Looks good. Tons of recharge. I would prolly franken slot Acid Arrow and Oil Slick, but you'd have to give up the Positron bonuses..
The LotG: Defense in CJ is only giving 0.7% def. (me being cheap, doesn't seem worth it)
I recently got my TA/cold to 50. I plan to make use of all the proc options that come with these sets -

Quote:lots of good info here.I'm looking at and liking a build I have for a kinetics/archery defender (or corruptor). I played the defender version up to level 12 and learned very quickly that I really do not enjoy maintaining speed boost on my teamates. Frankly, I mainly play scrappers and damage dealers, and the idea of rebuffing 7 players every 2 minutes all night long is not fun for me. I'm aware that this may just mean kinetics isn't the set for me, but I'm wondering if any of you expirienced kineticists find that not having speed boost, or not keeping it up 100% of the time is heavily frowned upon.
Also, as an alternative, if there's a bind/macro I can use to quickly cycle through my teamates by tapping a button 7 times in a row, that'd probably help me enjoy the toon a lot more.
Any suggestion or advice?
personally I put SB in slot 1,
a) click the first person on team and hit "F" for follow.
b) hit "1" with my left hand.
c) repeat for second person on team.
In short, SB in the first slot of your tray works great. (for me and maybe you?)
You might try a Range enhancement in SB also. (less chasing)
It used to be tedious for me, but now i enjoy it.
for advanced users, hit the space bar between steps a) and b) hitting the "1" at the apex of your jump. -
Quote:-Think you meant to say it "fire's" roughly every 200seconds. The "chance" is every 10 sec.6) %Build up in tactics is wasted, it will only have a chance to go off every 200 seconds, and may not be when you want it.
-and there's lots of discussion whether its a "waste".
opinions, preference's, etc etc -
Quote:heheWhat do you mean by "Reported"?
Anyway I dont know of any, personally.
Lewis
he was just making a funny regarding how it's highly frowned upon to "farm" by the dev's.
watch out for the farm police! p
Just find a outdoor mish preferably, like Battle Maiden or Bobcat.
Or find a mish that has lots of Family or Council (the non-hairy kind).
set difficulty to 7-8man.
or so i've heard >.> -
Probably a horrible idea, but you could slap 4 damage proc's in Flash.
Flash -- UbrkCons-Acc/Rchg, UbrkCons-Acc/Hold/Rchg, UbrkCons-Dam%, NrncSD-Dam%, G'Wdw-Dam%, GladNet-Dam%
Quote:think Fire Mastery might be your best bet for damage..Thanks but one quick question on the build. Since im lacking AoE i was thinking of changing the epic to soul mastery (when i switch sides) and using dark consumption dark obliteration and soul drain for my AoE attacks would that be a good choice or should i switch to fire mastery
and on a side note, i've got a breakdown for the cost of this build
Doctored Wounds and other stuff------50,000,000inf
2 LuckOfTheGambler 7.5%'s----------200,000,000inf
1 Gladiator Armor TPpro/+3%------2,000,000,000inf
whoa, sell that damn Glad Armor!
actually, i have no idea what it cost's..too much for my blood -
Quote:hmm, you said there was another ill/emp. wonder if they hit you with Group Invis and that somehow surpressed your SI?I was running Posi part 2 last night with my Illusion/Empathy controller, and at least 3 times enemies saw thru Superior Invisibilty and started attacking me. I was under the impression that about the only thing that could see thru SI were Rikti drones. When I said something to the team, the other Ill/ troller said that she had been encountering the same thing, and thought it was a nerf released in I18. Did I miss something, and was the stealth from SI reduced? Really curious...

Quote:you still have 2.5% ranged def six times (only the first 5 will count towards global bonuses). You could swap the Thunderstrikes in Chilblain for Trap of the Hunter, but i would suggest dropping all slots from Chilblain.I did what you said and dropped shiver and Frozen Fists for Combat Jumping and Freeze Ray while maintaining capped range defense. It's pretty easy to get your sm/lethal defense up to 30~45%.
but if you just want Fire Armor, then i added my thoughts to your build below.

-I added my thoughts to your build, and i put the FF: proc's in a few attacks like B_P was saying.
-You've got way too many attacks! But i guess if you want them all then, you want them all.
because you have all these attacks, dont worry about recharge on each attack (except Full Auto)
-I wouldn't 6 slot Positron's, Devastation's, or Sting of the Manticore. Those last slot's help with exotic damage you won't see alot.
-I wouldn't 3 slot Health, Cloaking Device, or SS with 3 generic IO's cause there's not much difference (ED)... Now, 3 rech in Hasten would make more of a difference but i wouldn't in this build, cause your gonna have more powers than you can fire.
-try to fit one kb pro IO in yer build (3mil)

looks pretty good!
A few things to consider.
-You only get the first 5 of each global buff of a certain percentage and type, for instance you have six "9% global accuracy buff" so you dont get the sixth 9%. With that in mind you might drop some Pacing of the Turtles from Caltrops.
-Look like you got six or seven "2.5% recoveries" so save some cash and drop a SO in Stamina :P
-Targeting Drone and Clocking Device really need some End Reduction.
-Smoke Gernade and Surveillance have procs which will draw agro (if they proc) just a fyi.
Also Smoke Gernade and Surveillance require to hit checks and you have no accuracy slotted
(not a big deal, if you mainly just wanted the bonuses).
-you'll want some knock back protection somewhere (karma and steadfast can be bought for 3mil)
see if these changes look ok..

actually, you might also consider this..
Smoke Gernade and Sleep Gernade have simular uses in that you can keep a "side mob" or patrol from attacking.
If you dropped Smoke Gernade (and slotted SG instead), you could pick up combat Jumping, which is a nice companion to SS and gives Immob protection.
or you could drop Smoke Gernade and Targeting Drone for Assault + Tactics to give the party a lil boost.
