Whats your least favorite TF/Trial to do?
Respec Trial
Synapse
Space reserved for a super awesome Signature, someday...
Citadel (stupid caves)
I'm tempted to say Quarterfield but I won't.
perma jump is ---> /up 1
Yeah, Synapse Task Force is definitely my least favorite at the moment. Respec trials are also pretty bad, unless I'm on my bubbler. Then it's fun to plant myself right next to the reactor, turn on Force Bubble, and watch as the baddies try in vain to get to the reactor.
@Celestial Lord and @Celestial Lord Too
Synapse- Since they redid Posi TF
Barracuda-Just because running a Khan TF is a walking in a park compared to this TF
I've not run any of the nasty nasty ones cause nobody is every doing them ^^
Of the remainder, though, I despise Synapse. Two hours of slogging through nothing but Clockwork sucks. At least last time I was on an ElecArmor Brute, so it wasn't so bad.
I'll go old school. The Unique Dragon TF was the worst by far. All the rarez dupin left that thing gone to the Americans.
More recently, though, I get confused when someone says "putting together LGTF group, PST!" I'm like, "Man, I'd like to find a team but I'm straight. Maybe I could roleplay it."
I would tell you but then I'd have to dispatch of you.
Any Task Force on a Rogue, or any Strike Force on a Vigilante. Not bein' able to use Ouroboros to get from zone-to-zone is a pain.
"Champion (the Community Server... or GTFO) is like a small town where everyone knows each other's names, for better or worse." -kojirodensetsu.
"If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." - Maslow's Hammer
Cuda, because so rarely does anyone "volunteer" for a stalker to kill the relentless 5th Zerglings.
Numina, because of zone events wrecking my hunts.
Mender Silos, if that counts, because the phrase "Mendacious Man" referring to Manticore is quite flatly the dumbest thing I've ever seen in this game.
Justin Augustine because of the completely boring Circle "AVs" which are just regular mages with AV hit points. Yawn.
The Story of a Petless MM with a dream
I have a 50 in every AT, but Scrappers and Dominators are my favorites.
Well since Hindenberg won't say it I will.. Doc Q. I have done it once and the experience was so bad I didn't do any of the other Shard TFs until recently when I was looking for anything different to do with my Main/Badger. To bring this into total focus Operative Tessa is a Rogue that has completed every SF and at this point has only two things left to do Hero side.. 3 (three) Hero Side Respec Trials and.. Doc Q.
Others I am not fond of include...
Justine Augustine .. I did this recently on Tessa and better than half of the missions are mindless hunts (Defeat 50 Soldiers of Rularuu) designed to do nothing more than force you to travel from one end of the zone to the other. On a 50 level team this also means you are attacking 44-47 level villains getting no INF or next to none and certainly not getting any Shard drops (since you are not attacking 50 levels). It was the shortest of the three 44+ Task Forces in the Shard but by far the least enjoyable.
Synapse.. I don't hate fighting Clockwork and actually enjoy the final missions in Skyway where you end up battling Babbage and then head off to take down the Clockwork King. But they really need to revise the beginning of that TF. It starts with a defeat all, followed by a street hunt, then THREE straight defeat all that look almost indentical, a patrol, another defeat all and then a second patrol. By the time you get to the missions you can actually stealth all anyone wants to do is finish the thing and get their badges and merits so they can move on.
For historic purposes .. the OLD Positron TF. Thank goodness someone took the time to redo this nightmare. I had SG mates that have played COH since it began and only recently did the new version of Posi to gain Task Force Commander. If you ever ran one, and YES I did it on numerous occasions, it was designed for 10-15 level players which meant most had no permanent travel power and the thing ran you all over the city including into Skyway where your lowly little 11 level had to get past 17-19 level villains to get to the mission door. Keep in mind prior to radio missions and safeguards there was no such thing as a Raptor pack so all this travel was being done by running through zones and using the trains. It was not unusual for the TF to take 4-5 hours and like Doc Q some teams even split the horrid experience over two days. Oh and it also pitted you against the worst possible sets of villains... Circle of Thorns at those levels were, and still are, grossly overpowered and the Vahzilok had a ton of toxic damage which almost no one had any resistance to or defense against. The one saving thing about the TF was it had no AV at the end and back in the beginning if only one team mate was on line the mobs adjusted so a single player could run the missions.
It did get more tolerable when the started allowing players to keep up to 5 levels of powers and enhancements when they exemplared down and allowed us to start earning XP while doing so.... For those that never experienced this at one point if you didn't do a Task Force while in it's level range you got no XP, no INF, and no Prestige. All you were earning was the badge and back then there wasn't even a reward merit bonus to grab so most players simply refused to even do it UNLESS they wanted the Task Force Commander Accolade.
Now if we could just get them to revamp some of the other TFs like they did with Posi the game would be even more enjoyable.

Those women are prostitutes? You said they were raising money for stem cell research! Sheldon
Doc Q, Synapse, Justin.
Doc Q - Hey guys let's copy and paste the exact same missions over and over and over again and make them all kill alls! BRILLIANT!
Synapse-Tons of kill alls at lowbie levels.
Justin-Numina-esque but in a much larger zone and requires a ton more kills and feels boring overall.
I'll always be a "Champion" at heart. My server away from home.

Sheep Answer: Synapse, Doc Q.
But so true
Numina - I just dont like hunts even tho I know where they hide.

Nothing saids its your spot like an ourob. Portal dropped on the ground.
Any Task Force on a Rogue, or any Strike Force on a Vigilante. Not bein' able to use Ouroboros to get from zone-to-zone is a pain.

also, the better question might be what tf/sf do you enjoy. i quite enjoy the itf; the stf is decent; lrsf is not bad; the new posi is good and the 2 new incarnate ones are decent. the older tfs are just lame.
Justin Augustine because of the completely boring Circle "AVs" which are just regular mages with AV hit points. Yawn.

if you want to fight an annoying CoT AV, go to AE and put akarist in a mish and fight him as an AV, hes basically an AV with the arch mage 75% resist to all dmg
For me, it's any TF/SF that is the product of "lazy design." Having to slog through the same mission, fighting the same mobs, accomplishing the same goals over and over again is a waste of my playtime. Some of these TFs include: Synapse, Citadel, and Doc Q.
Another gripe I have is the "harder is gooder" TF design mentality that mandates certain classes or powersets be necessary or failure is assured. The Lord Recluse SF is the worst offender by far.

I've been on failed LRSFs, I'm not saying that I'm perfect, but I've also been on a 40-minute or so all-corruptor LRSF ... no mind dom sleeping the AVs, no brute or tank taunting, just eight "squishies".
I'm going to channel Silas here for a minute: maybe everyone needs to start making and playing more corruptors and then you can see how much less difficult the LRSF is.

Harder isn't gooder?
That aside, I know people who've done All-Defender STFs, much like Llewthor mentioned. Or tanked LR with a scrapper. And people used to have to "have" a Stone tank to do it.
The sky's the limit, basically.

Of course, you all are right. There are definately creative and couragous players pulling off TFs like the Recluse Strike Force with unconventional teams. I really admire players who do so. I need to get involved with those folks, and challenge my own perceptions.

*Cavern of Transcendance Trial
*Sewers Trial
(both require everyone do a coordinated "click" on something, which seems to be the hardest thing on earth to do lol - and you got limited time)
*LGTF
(because of Hamidon - gotta get key players, preferably strong)
*Respec Trials
(cuz you have to wait for an hour in the reactor room)
