  1. Anything which involves leading anyone out of a mission gets dropped, no matter what I'm playing.

I used to love the Malta Gunman Action Figure tip when it was bugged and the Malta all showed up in quick succession. Now I'll generally drop it, but if I'm running tips on my claws/elec scrapper, I do sometime leave her near the ambush point with Spin on auto and go make a cup of tea and a snack while she finishes the mission by herself.
  2. Awesome!

(You have ATOs marked as Account Bound, which I don't think is right?)

The only difference between this and letting me buy Inf a billion at a time is one of scale.
    No.

Inf is, as you say, put into the economy by enemy defeats, mission bonuses and selling drops to stores. Trading in Wentworth's, on the other hand, actually reduces the total amount of inf out there.

Letting you buy a billion inf on the Paragon Market would add a billion brand new inf to the economy.

Selling an ATO on Wentworths for a billion inf moves 900 million pre-existing inf from one player to another, and removes a hundred million inf from the economy in Wents fees.
  4. Archie just resubbed after about eighteen months away from the game. He fired up his big marketeer's spreadsheet o' doom, and he was rather surprised to find that most of his old niches were selling at either about the same or lower than when he left.

While there are a few specific areas where prices have jumped, overall I don't see too much of a problem.

Selling ATOs on the market does not drive inflation. Pouring extra inf into the game by letting people buy it outright does.
  6. What does the TP setting say in the options.txt file?
  7. I'm also pretty uncoordinated, so I feel your wife's pain :-) It took me a long time before I felt comfortable teaming with anyone other than Archie.

My first character was a Rad Defender, and Rad is a nice starter set if she likes the idea of a support character. The debuffs are toggles or AoE, so they don't require a lot of fast clicking because you can take your time to select the right mob before starting the fight. Plus it has a Heal, which feels nice and useful because you can see the green numbers going up, and Accelerate Metabolism is an AoE buff on a long timer, so again not complicated to use.

If pairs up well with pretty much anything, but if you're playing on a Brute or a Tank to gather the aggro, then Fire is great because spamming flashy AoEs on bunched up enemies is very satisfying, especially when you're just starting out.

So, maybe Rad/Fire Defender or Fire/Rad Corr?

    Pocket D Pack

The metallic dress top is also not available as an option for any of the three Robotic Arms upper bodies. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but it is a pity because it would work fine with all of them.

Seriously. 'Being able to see what I'm buying before I buy it' is a pretty basic piece of functionality for an on-line store. The store interface is an piece of crap that should never have gone live, never mind still be in the state it's in months later.

Yay! I feel like this thread has been an epic triumph of CoX community awesomness! :-)
  11. I'll put myself down as a tentative yes, please, although it depends on some family stuff as to whether I can make it in the end. I can bring my own laptop to play on.

Right-click the slot to bring up the enhancement pop-up, then select the left-hand circle in the top row, which gives you an empty slot.
  13. There are some fun arcs in Faultline that start at 15 -- go to Faultline and talk to Jim Temblor, who should have popped up in your contacts list already.

The Positron's Task Force, which is split into two parts, is also enjoyable, and each part can be run in under an hour. You can find Posi in Steel Canyon.

I'm happy that one survived. I use it on my fire blaster, especially when I'm showing up for Mo badge runs.

Unfortunately, the yearly rewards are FUBARed, and have been since Freedom went live. It's an acknowledged issue, with no estimate of when they'll be able to fix it, if they'll be able to fix it.

If you have /auctionhouse, then you probably also have (or can get with the next token) /vault, too? If so, then you can stand in a university by a crafting bench, and buy, craft and slot right where you are.
  17. How did you level up the character from 1 to 50? I was wondering if you've run into the same issue as this person.

You definitely aren't the only exception. I'm a pretty introverted person in general. I basically play CoH in one of three ways: I solo, I duo with Archie, or I play TFs and Trials. If I team, I vastly prefer to play in large groups doing content with a specific endpoint, so that I don't feel obliged to chat if I don't feel like it, and I know that there's a point where I can leave easily.

Why would I be excited about getting this new way, when I already get the ones I want, and the prices on the ones I use most is likely coming down?
This is pretty much why I passed on the purple-buying frenzy.

I've been playing for three and a half years. I have maybe 35 characters in total, only 25 of which are on the server I regularly play on. Eight of them are fifties. Only two of those fifties I actually still play. I already have a storage bin with about fifty purples in it that I haven't found a use for, yet, or needed to sell to fund my builds. I just don't really need any more.

That's probably a bug. Some people find they have the EATs unlocked when they're Premium, and some people don't. So don't be surprised if the bug is fixed at some point and you lose access to the characters again.

How about IOing out completely with level 40s instead, then? Everything will match, and there's really nothing to choose between 40s and 50s in terms of performance. I start slotting all my characters with IOs in the low/mid 30s, because then I can actually use the IO build as I'm levelling up, I can buy the IOs in a nice, leisurely way as I go along, and I never need to replace the IOs once they're in there.

Just let me know what you want when you have the final build fixed, and I'll send you the IOs. It might take me a little more time to get everything together if you want to go the level 40s route, as supply is lower (and I'm kind of stingy, so I hate paying more than I have to :-) But it'll be fun getting everything together.

Well, common, but what about Set Recipes? How do those break down?
IOs have the same breakdown as salvage, and the recipe names are colour coded the same way: Common (White), Uncommon (Yellow) and Rare (Orange), plus Very Rare (Purple) and PVP.

The Paragonwiki has the merit costss for Reward Merits and Alignment Merits.

The Incarnate Merit vendors in Ouro also sell recipes, although I'm sure that you'll have much better things to do with your Emp and Astral Merits than buy recipes.

I don't know how long that's going to last, but I won't be touching City of Heroes for at least a few days just because it gives me fits whenever I try to.
Sam, why do you start these threads when they just make you sad, and in the end you don't use any of the advice that people give you because it's all fundamentally not how you are willing to play the game? It's nice that the info is put out there for other people to use, but it seems like you're just putting yourself through the wringer again and again for nothing.

When I22 hits, why not just fill up your e-mail with insps, set your difficulty to -1x1, and see how far you can get in the new DA content on an SO build? If your SO characters really can't cope, then worry about what comes next.

(And if it turns out that you still want to try out an IO build then, find one you like, send it to me, and I'll mail you the IOs you need at whatever level you prefer. Just go easy on the purples and PVP IOs, please ;-)

I think the rest of your post pretty much invalidates your opening sentence.

If people could buy IOs on the Paragon Market and put them into the Auction House, it might do a lot of things, but it wouldn't increase prices or contribute to inflation.
