    DM/Shield and Body Mastery don't mix so well, because usually people look to the APP for some added AOE **cough, fire ball, cough** and Energy Torrent takes a shield out of the benefit of AAO, but to each there own I guess. I suppose this wouldn't matter so much if you mostly solo or don't really care about AOE, but then you also miss out on Fire Blast which is almost as good as Smite for Damage/Anim.

    No I use Fire Blast and Ring of Fire a lot more, because they do more damage per animation second than the DM attacks.

    My chain is more like this:
    Fire Blast > Ring of Fire > Midnight Grasp > Fire Blast > Siphon Life


    But I also throw in Fire Ball when it's up

    A WP in those situations will not die and die often - that's just hyperbole. That kind of talk is why I run WP and Shield to prove that Granite is not required. It also avoids having to building a team around getting a kin, which are always really nice, but only required with Granite.

    Yes we all know that Granite is OP but is hardly neccessary


    But if you luv it, then go ahead and play it

    Well I have a 50 Spine/WP, an Elec/Ninja 50 and a KM/Elec 50 Stalker

    Out of those the Elec/Ninja is probably the funnest with more "moments of glory" than my other stalkers.

    If you team a lot I would go Elec Melee for sure.


    If you team more - Elec/Ninja
    If you solo more - KM/Ninja

    You know I have noticed this as well. He uses his end drain attack a lot now.

    meh, I have a WP/EM tank with 3300+ hp and I have no probs tanking Recluse. At least for me Granite and Rooted are unbearable. the 1st Brute I ran was a granite Brute and needless to say it has been years since I played him.

    A side note, I also don't like playing with Granite tanks, because they always trail me in moving to the next mob. Even with a Kin I'm always waiting on them.

    But the funnest (except for when tanking Recluse) Tank I have is a SD/SS!

    whoa this is crazy, your thinderstrike has no slotted damage, I guess you don't plan on using it. And why even take powers like Energy Torrent and then slot it with something that costs a few hundred million influence?

    I know this is the scrapper form but here is my extreme Electric/SS Tank build with perma Energize and Foot Stomp in under 5 secs and perma Hasten only 2 slotted.

    Wow it's always interesting to see how people slot their IOs!

    I think you can have your cake and eat it too with mind Doms and have the recharge, control, defense and ST/AOE damage.

    Really what comes into question is the balance of ST and AOE Damage vs defense. Personally I side on ST a little more because on a big team after a couple AOEs from the team the minions and LTs are gone, and the only things left are bigger single targets like boses and EBs. Plus if you solo you'll want a little more ST damage as well. On top of that I don't like the long animation short and narrow cone of Fire Breath so I skip it.

    here's my Mind/Fire/Ice perma hasten/dom w/ S/L soft capped (and BTW I went for more damage with the Alpha slot)

    No it does not crit. I have it on one of my builds for the -res and just to have a Mace for the hell of it.

    Three Mind doms smoke everything

    1 kin and two brutes makes for great pinballing fun!

    2 Forts, and 1 Therm would be a great combo

    3 Scrappers I think would be a lot of fun and challenging too.

    I would go Earth/Psi, it plays just like the potent Fire/Psi combo.

    the real Synergy is Fire Control's stun power and Psi's Stun power with PSW.

    Earth with Fissure has great synergy with Fire Control for this reason too.

    I think the best two choices for melee fun is Elec/Earth and Fire/Earth.

    Elec and Fire Control both have great pbAOEs that beg to be played up close, which makes them perfect for the best melee secondary, Earth.

    The second best melee set IMO is Psi because of Drain Psyche and once you finally reach lvl 38 you get PSW.

    So pick one of these:

    Elec/Earth
    Fire/Earth
    Fire/Psi

    1st respec into a fort, lol

    Then you can have a Claw chain and a non claw chain depending on the situation with more Range, AOE and Control.

    Well don't feel so bad, your Elec can laugh off all the Thermals in the zone, and laugh at Regen when everyone takes TP FOE when Fitness goes inherent.


    Fiery Aura can also be viable in PVP, but for now Regen is still on top.

    I don't see it having any real change at all, except if everyone has phase, then the main decision will be should I phase to get the kill, or save it to avoid being killed.

    Hoarfrost has a 540 sec timer with a 120 sec duration.

    Go ahead and try to make that perma.

    Plus it will heal you once every 2 1/2 minutes, whereas Aid Self can Heal 40% of your health every 7 seconds. Hmmmmm.......

    The one good thing about scorp shield though is that you don't have to select any of the other powers from the pool to get it. Plus it means I can soft cap to S/L and Elec.

    So then I guess the real question is Aid Self vs Hoarfrost since both require that I take another power to get them.

    I think I just talked myself into Scorps Shield.
