Quote:Great advice thanks again. I clicked on the link from your first post "Click this DataLink to open the build!" and tried to read the file but couldn't figure out what program to use to read it. I'm guessing that I have to download Mid's to be able to read it? I haven't gotten around to doing anything with this guy yet so when I have the chance I'll run some scenarios with mid's first. I appreciate all the help and advice.Well, I would recommend picking up Mid's planner and playing with the builds that you can create. The link is at the top of the build I provided.
As to which powers to take away, let me state which powers from FF I consider keepers. Force Bolt( cause it's required ), Deflection Shield, Insulation Shield, and Dispersion Bubble.
Those are my keepers, other powers to consider:
Personal Force Field is great as an "Oh Crap!" power, and it can function fine with the slot it comes with. Force Bubble can be fun, especially if you're Tankerminding. Just be aware that running all the Leadership powers and the FF toggle can get expensive( endurance wise).
I understand your desire to have full IO sets on your powers, but consider that some sets don't allways have the bonuses you might want, or some sets have the bonuses that you might want without needing all six IOs. For example, I slot my damage resist powers with the first five IOs from the Aegis set. The sixth, Psi Resist/Status is hard to get and the fith set bonus from slotting it is meh( IMO ). So to save money, and a slot, I only put in five of the six IOs.
There are other examples where half sets and 'Frankenslotting' can more benificial then a full set can be. It depends on the goals that you might have in mind for your build. In a high Endurance use powerset ( like Poison ), you might favour sets that provide a Recovery bonus over defense bonus.
Like I said, it depends on how you want to develope your character. Pick up Mid's planner and play with the possibilities.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind if I have room but I may delete some FF powers so I can take leadership I'm also thinking of scrapping medicine instead. I haven't made up my mind yet. -
The only characters I have that are in the right level range on freedom are Megallo a Lvl 50 nec/ff mm which I need to respec before I would attempt to do the LRSF on master level with and Dark Flea my level 44 dark/kin corr which I would need to get to at least level 45. Also, the only night that I regularly have off from work is Monday. Any other night it would have to be during a rain out and I wouldn't know until the last minute but I would love to come along. Look me up in-game my global is @Ghoul Slayer.

Going to continue the Lorenz Ansaldo arc on Monday. Sea Witch is the next mission in the arc so if you're auto completing try to have that be your next mish. Also if you're auto completing don't go past level 24 or you will outlevel the contact.
Welcome to all our new recruits. It's good to have you aboard. I had fun teaming with you guys today. -
Awesome!! Thank you. I'll respec tomorrow and try this. I'm thinking of either getting rid of TP and Medicine or TP and some of my FF powers to take leadership and I'm going to want the entire set any recommendations on what I should get rid of?
-
Ok, I just remembered what brought up this question. It wasn't a badge mission it was a temp power. We were doing the Loa Bone mission and I was the only one that got it but the other guys weren't auto completing that time. So the real question is if we auto complete a mission with a temp power will everyone get the temp?

This is one toon that I wish I had made differently. I really hate FF (but I love the zombies) but through determination I made it to 50 and I'm not ready to retire him yet. He was actually my first level 50 villain. Could someone either help me make FF more fun or give me some suggestions on some pool powers that I can use instead. My zombies rock so there's not much I would change about them except maybe some of the slotting.
Necromancy
Zombie Horde - 3 acc. 2 dam. 1 ToHit debuff
Enchant Undead - 1 att. rate
Grave Knight - 6 slotted Blood Mandate
Soul Extraction - 1 acc. 2 dam.
Lich - 6 slotted Sovereign Right
Dark Empowerment - 1 att. rate
FF
Force Bolt - 1 Ruin acc/end/rech. (I'll probably slot this for more after respec)
Deflection Shield - 3 endredux 3 def buff
Insulation Shield 3 endredux 3 def buff
Dispersion Bubble - 3 endredux 2 def buff
Personal FF - 3 endredux 2 def buff
Detention Field - 3 acc 2 endredux
Force Bubble - 3 endredux 2 att rate
Fitness
Swift - 1 run
Health - 3 heal
Stamina - 3 end mod
Medicine
Aid Other - 3 Doctored Wounds
Aid Self - 3 Numina's Conv.
Resuscitate - 1 Att rate
TP
Recall Friend - 1 att rate
Soul Mastery
Dark Embrace - 6 Aegis
Soul Tent. - 6 slotted (suggest an IO set pls)
Soul Storm - 4 slotted (ditto)
Nightfall - 4 slotted Siphon Insight
Someone already told me on another build that I should be slotting endredux in click powers instead of toggles so I know that I have to change that. The powers that are 3-6 slotted with set IOs (especially the pets) I plan to keep them there unless they will be more effective in a different power. I'm definitely going to change alot of the slotting. I'm also thinking of getting rid of tp and some FF powers for the leadership pool. I want to 6 slot all of my pets with set IOs any suggestions? -
My VG and I are planning on running a story arc that includes a badge mission. We are planning on all queuing up the contact so that we can just run one person's arc and auto complete the rest of them. My question is this: if we auto complete the badge mission will we still get the badge or do we each have to do that mission so that all of us get the badge?

Quote:Well, the screenie for my main powersets is the one in which my thumbnail didn't work. I'm going to assume that you figured that out but for some reason it isn't clear enough on your computer to be able to read it.Sorry, I meant your powersets.
One Endredux in your attacks usually settles most of your end drain issues. Attacks take far more endurance than your toggles ever do. I like to frankenslot blasters about your level (or just a bit higher).
As to Saturday, I should. Saturdays and Mondays just haven't been good to me lately.
Psychic Blast - Mental Blast, Telekinetic Blast, Psionic Dart, Psychic Focus, Psionic Lance.
Devices - Web Grenade, Smoke Grenade.
Fitness - Swift, Health, Stamina.
Fighting - Boxing, Tough, Weave.
Leaping - Combat Jumping, Super Jump.
Leadership - Maneuvers.
Cool I'm looking forward to seeing you Sat. Btw we're going to be doing the Lorenz Ansaldo arc. So you might want to get set up with him so you can auto finish his missions. -
Quote:The only set I have so far is under Mental Blast so far I have:I can't tell what sets you are using, but if you're going for a defense build the only epics that have a defense based shield is Ice (Smashing/Lethal).
But without knowing what sets you have, its hard to say much more than that. Personally, I like Electric Mastery a lot because it gives me a cone attack, a res shield, a ranged hold, and Surge of Power.
Tempest
Level 27 Damage/Recharge
Level 29 Damage/Endurance
Level 29 Chance for endurance drain
My biggest problem is end drain. I steamrolled through the Synapse TF earlier today but that was thanks to the rest of the team especially the 2 kin trollers. I was actually doing alot of tanking. We had myself and 2 other blasters, 2 kin trollers, another troller, a tank and a scrapper (I forget their specific ATs). One of the guys dubbed us team squishy before we started but he changed his toon about 5 minutes into the first mission. As I was saying my biggest problem is end drain as long as I have a kin to buff me with sb it's not a problem but I can't always have that. The screenies that I posted represent my attempt to improve on the end drain problem. On the TF I didn't have any end. red. in any of my attacks and I added more to toggles as well.
P.S. Brophog, are you going to be able to make it for the MM superteam this Sat.? -
This is Captain Mediocre, he's my level 28 blaster on Virtue. I'm pretty proud of this build. I'm really just showing him off but if anyone has any suggestions on how to tweak him a bit I'm open to it. I plan to take the rest of the leadership pool which should fill out most of my 30s. I'm not sure what epic pool I'm going to take yet (I play mostly redside so idk what to call the epic pool on blueside). I am planning on getting more IO sets as well. You can click the images to enlarge them. For some reason not all of my thumbnails are working (this may clear itself up) but you can still click them to see the larger image.

Quote:I always thought that calling beating a villain until his HP hits 0 "arresting" them was a bit far-fetched anyway. I guess the devs couldn't figure out a way to justify why heroes were going around killing people so they decided to call it arresting them. Maybe that's why most of my toons are on red side. (Besides the fact that I hate having to travel for 10 minutes to get to a mission). How plausible is it that Paragon City's unique Law Enforcement and the FBSA government agency who license metahumans to save helpless civilians, might train a select few heroes and empower onto them, like Police Officers, the authority to kill in order to save? This question came to me in light of the coming wave of pistol-wielding shooters. As writers and roleplayers, do you think it is believable, and would it be largely acceptable, that the FBSA and Law Enforcement, or whoever it need be, would entrust onto a few truely heroic superhuman citizens, who are already licensed to save, the authority to kill? And why? Or why not, as the case may be? The Zig too unreliable, too full to hold the criminals and thus certain heroes may now shoot to kill? Or is the judge, jury and executioner problem too much power for one hero? Help please, lets talk.

I don't know if this will help or not because it is a generality and not necessarily specific to your problem. When I build any toon I always try to keep in mind that I will only be using 8 attack buttons so I only take 8 attack powers (my technique is to spam the buttons 1-8 on my keyboard in fights) I try to fill the rest with things like toggles and travel powers. As soon as they wear out their usefulness I get rid of brawl and the first "temp" power (it used to actually be a temp power once you got to level 10 it disappeared) so I don't count them. For any melee toon I always take CJ (3 slotted for defense) and the fighting pool for its toggles. For any ranged toon I always take the leadership pool. It may not be the best strategy but it works for me.

Quote:Hmm, I wonder what those ToHit buff enhancements are at the end of every list at all of the enhancement stores then?
There are no enhancements that increase your tohit directly. There are enhancements that make *powers* that increase your tohit stronger.
Ok, I realized the stupidity of what I just said shortly after I wrote it. I guess I wasn't reading your post clearly. Please disregard. -
When will we get more memory storage for our story arcs?
-
I have a feeling that there won't be any restrictions on which characters can switch sides. After all, there is an evil Statesman and more likely than not there will be a good Recluse as well (we just haven't seen him yet). I also think that they will offer more power customization with GR. This is all just guessing because I really have no idea but I thought I'd throw it out there.

How about this, you give them the animations (flip and ninja stance) but not the speed itself?

Quote:The bar down the street from me has one of those now but it's Ms. Pac-ManI remember going to the local Shakey's Pizza that had a tabletop version of PacMan. You know those little tables where two people could sit opposite one another and play, and the screen would switch sides for each player?
I still want one of those for my house.
We had a local arcade and I could easily drop $20 in a long Summer afternoon. Video game playing has gotten considerably cheaper over the years.
Quote:I remember being in a bowling alley in the early 80's and my uncle playing Pong (yes people used to pay to play Pong on an arcade machine) and saying "Wouldn't it be great if you could play this at home?"
And a year or so later, we could.
Remember Shark Hunt? They actually had one of those in the movie Jaws. Man I thought it was sooooo cool back then. -
Quote:Another great Blues Brothers line but not as good as 106 miles. Two from Tombstone:
Wyatt Earp: You die first, get it? Your friends might get me in a rush, but not before I make your head into a canoe, you understand me?
Wyatt Earp: You tell 'em I'm coming... and hell's coming with me, you hear?
And from Blue's Brothers:
Jake: [fakes accent] How much for the little girl? How much for the women?
Father: What?
Jake: Your women. I want to buy your women. The little girl, your daughters... sell them to me. Sell me your children. -
Quote:If I wasn't such a huge Blues Brothers fan I would have to agree with you."I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or five? Well, to tell the truth, in all the excitement, I kind of lost track myself. Now, seeing as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you gotta ask yourself one question. 'Do I feel lucky?'
Well do ya? PUNK?"

I didn't read the whole thread yet so I don't know if anyone beat me to it but the all time best movie lines EVER!!...
Elwood Blues: It's a hundred and six miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake Blues: Hit it!! -
I don't have the time right now to grab a snapshot but I'll edit this post later to add one. My most disturbing toon should have been a villain but I created him before CoV. His name is "The Velvet Fruitfly". Obviously he is a gay hero (no I'm not gay and I'm not a homophobe either). I created him mainly for comic relief. His utterly disturbing battlecry is "Lookout $target here comes the hemorrhoid express!!"

Hey if you're that well off I've been eyeballing the Martial Arts pack but I'm a little short...
All kidding aside I think it's fine the way it is because some people have more than one account and they buy more than one to apply to each of their accounts. -
I want to play GR sooooooo badly. *Drool*
-
This isn't the majority of MMOs and none of us wants that. I regularly play about 15 different toons on 2 servers and occasionally jump off to play on other servers too. Half of the fun of CoX is the ability to create new and interesting characters and watch them grow.
