Loved: Jingle Jet. I love the variant art, the colors, the shimmer, the snowflake's dropping and the happy tinkle noise it makes.
Loved: Giving Presents to people.
Loved: Present Inspirations.
Loved: The new Winter Horde Event with the giant present and the timed mission against the Winter Lord. Hard, but really cool. Those lights are beastly in big groups.
Loved: Costume pieces bought for candy canes.
Hated: The lights and winter lord camping the in-mission hospital and killing people over and over and over.
Hated: The repetitive nature of the baby new year mission
Suggestions:
Instead of the jetpacks, jump teleport or run "packs".
Jetpacks with alternate graphics. The Jinglejet is absolutely fantastic. The raptor pack is totaly boring.
More variety in enemies. The snowmen are ok, but add one new enemy to the Winter Horde. And not just a recolored Redcap or something, a new enemy.
That temp power you can give as a give (christmas cheer I believe). Make it purchasable with candy canes (20 or less) and add a few more options to the table of gifts.
Add a mission (tip mission from presents or winter horde maybe) with the zowie tech from Praetoria in Paragon/Rogue Isles
Make the ski run badges just a touch easier (silver 1 second, gold .5 seconds) to get, so you don't need a custom build and/or speed boost to accomplish them.
Add a second map/version to the rescue baby new year mission.
Snow over the real version of Croatoa, not just the instanced versions. Maybe a few other zones as well.
Purchasable Temp Powers costing candy canes with magic and mutation themes. Instead of grenades, bioplasma ball. Instead of a revolver, rune of blasting, etc. -

Quote:I have over 30 characters none of them "done". A few are getting close on one build, but they each have two and will all eventually have either an exemping/50only split, or solo/team split depending on the nature of the characters (defenders and controllers go solo/team, most others go exemp/50only).All I have to go by is my own situation, which matches Eva Destruction's. My current level 50 characters are 'done;' either I no longer like the characters and will never play them again, or I have fully kitted them out so that they don't need any further enhancement upgrades. The latter are the ones I intend to take through the new content.
So, going by that, I would expect a drop in prices. Is that what will happen? Dunno. I have no idea if my situation is typical. Maybe a poll of players could give more insight there.
If I ever finish one, I'll just take the opportunity to start a new character. Therefore, I represent an infinite demand for purples. Unless they become obsolete or I stop playing for good, I will never have enough for my pool of characters and therefore will continue to buy them. -
Quote:Depends on your definition of "acceptable". My BS/Regen scrapper has serious issues with some enemies despite having two achilees heel procs available. at two extremes, a +1 Freak Tank boss only takes 130-ish damage from my Headsplitter, and a +0 Carnie Master Illusionist takes 504 exactly. I really don't enjoy the degree to which lethal is resisted.Thx for the input guys. Gonna stick with the Corr. I suspected as much that a DP/Rad Corr would turn out to be better solo and grouped than a DP/Nrg Blaster. The Debuffs are pretty handy, quick question though. Will EF's -Res stacked with PS's -Res be enough -Res to make doing lethal damage end game acceptable?

Quote:Friday October 22 at around 9pm PST in Atlas Park, inside WW on virtue server. I sent a petition so I have an email track.I can't even remember the last time I saw a spammer in-game.
Quote:Nothing special happens just a forced disconnect and they can't log back on because the accounts banned.
Now Guild Wars has their Avatar of Death that busts forth from the ground and kills the botters and RMT spammers which also bans their account. Funny as heck to see it happen.
Here.
Just one of the very many reasons that we need a Mod8 fanclub. =) -
Quote:Also there are PVP farms, heal farms, damage farms etc.The results of a survey might be a little misleading because currently players can remain in an instance indefinitely, logging hours until the server goes down. And back in the olden days, there was no time-out period, so people would sometimes just go to sleep with our characters staying logged in.

Quote:Dull Pain is mostly wasted on a stalker. I f you have the +HP accolades the +HP component from DP goes over the cap. And that's before any +HP sets. That is a good point. I was boldly rounding the difference in base hitpoints at 50, which was silly. Of course it's 10%.
Also a very good point about max HP. Doesn't this mean that dull pain is not as good on a Stalker as it is a Scrapper? Not just because of the lower base HP, but because it would max out their HP unenhanced...
So, /Regen is even more solidly in the Scrapper's favor. -
Do you exemplar much or just play at 50? I'm thinking you might want a couple 3-sets of Gladiator's strike. Those give a decent +HP bonus all the way down, and aren't too horridly expensive if you're patient and don't go for the quad.
You've got some easy improvements you can make.
For example you have 5-slotted Mako, but that 5th slot only gives hold resistance. If you exemplar a lot and/or fight high-level enemies, drop in a level 43 Crushing Impact triple (acc/dam/rech) instead of the Mako Dam/Rech, it will be immune to the effects of exemplaring all the way down to level 21 and is virtually identical to the level 50.
If you really want to max HP, you can swap the multi-strikes with 4 eradication and 2 scirrocco's dervish (acc/dam/end and dam/end is my recommendation) for significant +hp and some +regen. But if you were looking for the defense from the multis then ignore this bit. Would also be a bit less expensive than the obliteration but oblits have so many nice bonuses I think I'd keep that one.
On physical perfection, go with the performance shifter proc and end mod if you need endurance, but really I'd think you're better off with Miracle + recovery and any two other cheapies, or numina +regen/recovery and any two if you want more HP less end. Whichever you go with, put the other unique or the Regenerative tissue unique into health instead of the generic any of them will be more hp/sec (except for miracle since it gives endurance instead).
On Quick Recovery, go with the Performance Shifter proc, end mod, plus one. You can have five of them they are not unique and they are vastly superior to efficency adapter.
Because of the extra 1.88 from this performance shifter, take two gaussian's out of blinding feint and give it more melee bonuses instead. =)
those last two luck of the gambler in Indominable Will are not helping you. two-slot serendipity or gift of the ancients, or move them to where they will help.
Your 6-piece Mako is not helping either. I'd drop the last few slots for something else or trade for another set. Maybe move one slot to ablating strike and put in the -res proc.
Those are what I saw. I'm sure someone else has more/better advice. -
Quote:It is not a proc it is a global bonus. There are two types. Procs check a % chance (some 100% like Miracle and the stealth IOs) each time the power is used or every 10 seconds. Globals work all the time.Just wondering how it works, i'm planning to slot it in Hell on Earth for my mastermind, just wondering does it only activate when i use that power or is it always on?
Thanks
The key difference is that procs work regardless of the level of the IO, but you have to use the power. So put a level 50 damage proc into your level 1 attack and it will work even if you flashback to the tutorial mission. Put Miracle's proc into health and it will work as long as you have health available. Exemplar below the level where you have access to health and the proc stops working.
Globals work all the time that you are within 3 levels of the IO or higher. So put a level 50 Sovereign Right IO into your level 1 pet and it is a wasted slot if you are below level 47. Put a level 25 Sovereign Right IO into your tier 3 pet and it works all the way down to level 22 even when you can't summon your tier 3.
In your specific case, if you put in a level 40 it will work as long as you are level 37 or higher. If you slot level 50 it will only work while you are level 47 and up. Drop down to run a taskforce and lose the benefit even if you still have the power available. Get the lowest level version you can find. =) -
Quote:Actually it has nothing at all to do with CoV coming out later and everything to do with CoH being several times larger. there are the same number of plaques per zone red and blue side. Blue side has more zones. There is still enough lore unclarified in game and relevant to the rogue isles to double the number of existing blueside plaques. But that would be really weird, they'd be all over the place.(Paragon has considerably more of them than the Isles - which is due to City of Villains being added as an expansion after the initial launch of CoH).
@the OP:
Two of my favorite bits of lore told in the game are both high level. But I do recommend tracking down the letters from the time capsule and any mission involving the lost that you can find including the entry to the Midnighter's guild. There is a rikti raid event coming up, and I find it more fun to know what is going on. Those stories are very good also.
Lots of good ties with many factions throughout the game some low level, some all the way to 50. -
Not true, the end of the fight is 100% irrelevant. What counts is if any any point the scrapper got down to 10% or lower.
-
A couple things to keep in mind: For all Dual Blade characters, the highest damage attack chain uses no combos. This is another way to say, combos aren't necessary. But they are cool.
Second, as far as stalkers specifically if you want to use combos, you learn to kill someone with AB, then start your combo on the second guy. Typically the advice is to ignore weaken and empower, just use sweep as a combo, and Attack Vitals only from time to time. -
The many uses of confuse beyond just "making the enemy fight each other" but rather taking their best weapons and turning them around. Malta sappers are also wondrous to confuse, and those roman surgeons. But yeah watching artemis run over caltrops is funny.

Quote:Also any regen mods will count for more on the scrapper for the same reason as the heals.Well, assuming the same defense and resistance, the Scrapper can take more hits, before falling, due to more health.
Heals will also heal for big chunks, due to more health.
I know I feel the difference. But then I feel the difference between a Stalkers secondary, and a blasters lack of one.
But in my experience, that 10% hp works out to the scrapper being able to take 2 or more hits past the point where the stalker is down. That is very significant. I'm with BrandX on this one, yes it is "only" 10% but it is very critical. Just like that last 5% between 40 and 45% defense halves your incoming damage, the 10% difference in HP between a stalker and a scrapper makes a huge difference in actual performance.
I won't go as far as Ryu and say stalkers "cant" be durable. But they are far softer than an equivalent scrapper. -
Some people have used tankers to spam taunt when testing builds against pylons, maybe the crab did that? Just guessing.
-
I just go until I get the first one. While running it I usually get 2 more.

I take it based on the actual decision in the morality missions themselves:
Hero: modern version of Superman-style morality, "no man left behind" better to let the villain get away if it ensures no one is hurt. Key failing is being easily duped or tricked into saving one person but putting many others at risk int he process.
Vigilante: A ruthless streak, willing to let some get hurt if it means permanent change comes along. Key moral failing is believing the ends justify the means.
Rogue: Only in it for the money/worldly gain (fame etc). Primary motives are selfishness. Will do good if that brings benefit, will to evil if that brings benefit. Primary failing is short-sightedness, short term gain trumps all.
Villain: Pride taken to the extreme, to use psychology terms, Pathologic Narcissist. Ont he surface it appears to be a simple case of "Hurt others for the sake of the hurt itself" but in reality every hurtful action is linked to an egotistical position: "That'll show her to mess with you" "not on your turf" etc. Ultimately becoming messianic narcissism in the villain arc where you fight your future selves over the ability to become a god even accepting the risk of being the only living thing in existence as long as it means you are in control. -

Very important to keep in mind the placate double-crit bug if you want to see a really big number. I'm a bit fuzzy on teh mechanics but I understand if you placate a foe while hidden then Assassin strike you have a chance to double-crit.

Quote:What total recharge is needed on Siphon Life for that chain?I have to ask, what exactly is slotted into SL and MG? are they both 6 slotted already? because you would likely be better off trying to get more recharge into the both of them and just using MG-Smite-SL-Smite. Your listed Smite recharge is fine for that chain, just need to lower MG to 4.488, or about 4.5 seconds. So you just need to shave 0.35 seconds off your MG recharge and you are good for that attack chain. Heck, depending on Latency, you are likely good as is.

Honestly when I read the subject line I was thinking it was a joke thread. You know, how many Centari does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Just one, but back in the glory days of the old republic we had hundreds of slaves screwing in thousands of lightbulbs at our merest whim!
On topic, I wasn't here for that. I have been curious to know what play was like before ED, but it is only something that I can see myself trying once or twice. I don't think it would really be a big draw.
Probably about as popular as the sewer trial. Which is why it'll never get dev love.
From a practical standpoint, an option in the flashback window or the AE architect to set mechanics to a specific issue would be interesting. -
I keep bids out for them at all times, and I don't sell any that drop. As a result I tend to have a small stockpile at any given moment.
I recommend hero merits over regular for picking them. Looks a lot cheaper and faster.
