Kinetic Combats

Curious where people get their Kinetic Combats /off/ the Market.

My next build calls for 20 of them (5 sets), as well as a couple other toons that will need a set or two come i19. So I'm just looking for another alternative so that I don't have to dump all my influence into this.

I've got about 4000 reward merits saved up across my main toons and AE tickets are easy enough to earn. Or Hero Merits...

Which would be the best choice to go about acquiring them?

Would it be best to buy them individually or from random rolls (if so which level range/pool?)

Thanks.

Bronze (silver too) ticket rolls have produced a lot of these for me.

The dam/ends which are expensive are a 1 A-merit purchase (or 125 merits) unlike the triples which are 2 A-merits, so are not stupid just to direct purchase. Some of my toons if I have slots spare make sure that they can use the proc rather than one of the two expensive ones to reduce the cost in powers that don't have KD of their own.

I've had a few of them (3 out of maybe 150 random pool C rolls since I18 hit?) drop randomly and I've beat a couple acc/dams out of badguys over the years. I haven't done the mass quantities of recipes plan; I'd go with Minotaur's idea if it was me. 50 merits and 20 million inf for a D/E looks pretty good to me.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

I bought a few sets not long ago, and I bought most of them in the 29-34 level range. It took a loooooooong time for all the bids to come in (say 6-8 weeks for the rare ones), but if you're a patient cheapskate like me, it's a good way to save inf. Don't forget to put in lowball bids on the crafted IOs.

I keep bids out for them at all times, and I don't sell any that drop. As a result I tend to have a small stockpile at any given moment.

I recommend hero merits over regular for picking them. Looks a lot cheaper and faster.

I also keep bids out on them in the 30-33 range, and craft and store any that I get. Bids fill slowly. I've gotten them in AE ticket rolls and hero merit rolls, but if I were going to start from scratch I'd definitely buy the harder-to-get ones using hero merits.

Slightly off topic but, can a lvl 50 exemp. down to a lower level to have better odds of rolling Kinetic Combats? If so, whats the optimial lvl to exemplar to?

You probably have the best odds rolling tickets for Kinetic Combats at 35-39, as there are the fewest pool A recipes in competition there, though weighting might skew that a bit.

You should definitely buy the knockdowns, as they can be got for nothing.

Exemplaring has no effect on rolling. But you do want to roll in the 35-39 range.

I buy the Acc/Dam and Dam/Rech; those generally aren't too expensive. I never use the proc. I get the Dam/End and Dam/End/Rech by running tips daily on 1-3 characters and converting Reward Merits to A Merits.

Then if I need better slotting in the power I supplement with a Mako's triple and/or quad, or one or two Crushing Impact triples.
