wOOt, first one to say it:
This isn't the suggestions forum. Please post in the right place.
Aaah, it feels good to be a jerk. Heh. =) -
Which Carnies do we get? Please don't say the strongmen. Please please not the strongmen.

Quote:Sister Airlia bought one from Arachnos and had Daedalus create a generator for it powered by slaves with rowing machines as part of a plot to gain political influence.Just because some things seem a bit out of place ( how did Imperius get a cell phone?) does not mean that the rest of the game has to be, or even should be the same way.
She gave one to Marcus Valerius too. -
I've often wondered, what is the numeric difference between two membranes and three in Active Defense?
I hear that three is needed to get 95% DDR. But what do you get with two? -
Quote:The solution is obvious, since hibernate is already in the patron pools for scrappers, put superior conditioning into the Ice set in its place.Nope. They replaced Caltrops with Physical Perfection, for Stalkers.
Stalkers also get Superior Conditioning instead of Conserve Power for Body Mastery, and I'd love to have that option on my Scrappers over Conserve Power.

Quote:Nothing interrupts placate, it is not an interruptable power. On the other hand any source of damage breaks the pseudo-hidden state placate grants.Question about general Stalker DPS & the new Incarnate stuff. Does Reactive's DoT still interrupt Placate? If so, what Interface would you suggest?
You still want reactive. Just attack fast. -
Quote:I'll argue the "great for aoe". Yes it has several. But they all unequivocally suck balls except for throw spines which is mediocre. Even on a crit with 99% enhanced damage it won't kill even con minions in my experience. It's the weakest set for single-target, but as with all Stalker primaries, at least you've got Placate->AS to lean on a bit.
It's great for AoE though. Along with a patron AoE I can chain AoEs almost non-stop. Elec Melee has a great big hit in LR but once you've used that, you're left plinking away with relatively weak AoEs while it recharges. Throw Spines is such a fun power, and with some range enhancement it covers a huge area. I've been meaning to look into respeccing my spiner to squeeze in a damage proc or two into Throw Spines without sacrificing the range enhancement too much.
Fire sword circle will without a crit (either from brute or scrapper). Lightning Rod will. Thunderstrike can with a crit or buildup. Hell, even shadow maul has done it from time to time. I've hit buildup, throw spines and the burst power and still had 3/4 of a spawn alive and above 50% HP. Eviscerate is at best going to drop 2 of them at that point, but probably not.
And that burst power whose name I always forget is really terrible solo. the root plus slow activation have gotten me killed so often I have shelved the character. Enemies aggro at teh beginning of the power even if you're hidden, and don't take damage until, what 1.7 seconds or is it over 2? I know on a tip mission I've had mangle hit me twice and be part-way through a third attack before the damage from my power hit him, and I was hidden when I triggered it.
"great for aoe" is more along the lines of buildup-aoe-aoe and only looking at bosses and on or two lucky guys. No build I have ever seen is capable of making the stalker version of spines into that. But if anyone has one, please share.
Quantity does not substitute for quality. -
I'm not sure, but are you stacking AoE and Ranged defense? Typically you'd be better off with high s/l.
Also, what is your goal with the purple sets? Perma energize? -
The trick is to use terrain. Put the burn patch near but not in a corner, keep the enemy closer to the corner than the center of the patch. They're go flying to the wall, not out of hte fire.

Does anyone have a link to Arcanaville's challenge map? I think there's a video of Posyb (the developer) trying it out.

Can you post the build longform? Those of us on Macs can't use Mids.

Quote:The extra salvage and recipe slots are very handy. I have a level-locked 15 scrapper for AE farming that has all the recipe slots unlocked for faster ticket rolling. Keep meaning to level her to 20 but never getting around to it. heh.You get the badge for each level range by crafting IO's in that level range. Your level is irrelevant. Most people do the whole thing when they are level 50. Someone did it at level 1 for..... I guess entertainment value?
the salvage slots are nice as well. -
I've never been impressed with the damage of any spines stalker. Mine is completely pathetic, and the others I've seen are not gimpy, but solidly "meh".
-
I've found that my DP/Traps corr really doesn't like being more than +1. The damage is so crappy even with debuffs that I get frustrated. I swear, sometimes it feels like bosses and lieuts regen faster than Dual Pistols causes damage. I know it's not, but sometimes it feels that way.

Quote:Hmm, my plant storm runs all three leadership toggles without too much difficulty. But then I am very sparing on hurricane and tornado, using them not even every mission. And I only recently picked up a cardiac slot for this character.A friend of mine was discussing his Plant/Storm build with me. He was having constant endurance issues even AFTER he got the Cardiac Alpha slot. He eventually came to the same conclusion . . . Leadership was too demanding on endurance to run on a Plant/Storm, so he said he was going to respec it out.
Maneuvers has 5xSerendipity (mostly under level 30 as holdovers from levelling), tactics has 6xGaussians, assault has 1x end reduction. And I put a lot of end reduction into my main powers. Don't have inherent fitness, I chose fitness and never respecced, 2 slots in stamina perf shifter proc and end mod, and two in health numina's unique and health (thank you Alignment merits hehe). That's all I've needed. I don't have unlimited endurance, but I get done everything I want to get done while playing.
It's amazing how endurance efficient flytrap + confuse + creepers + thunderstorm are. Just recast now and again and otherwise stand there watching the bad guys die while doing rude emotes at them.

Quote:This mirrors my own experience as well. The key, I've found, is to make sure you level in the TF somewhere. Half a level's worth of experience given to you at 48.9 is no where near the amount of half a level's worth of experience given to you at 49.1.
and I want to see how much experience Doc Q gives. =) -
Quote:This is a known issue, and there are at least two threads about it in the tech support section. In my case the work around was sending to "@gavin runeblade" which is absolutely NOT my actual name. All other people have to send to @gavinruneblade, but to send email to myself I have to use @gavin runeblade. It's annoying and I suspect going to lead to a real mess if anyone makes "Gavin Runeblade" as an account. That's not really true either. If the global you are sending to does not exist, the e-mail will simply be instantly returned to your own in-box, but the item should not be auto-claimed (unless of course the Claim button is overlapping the Send button, and the OP is double-clicking instead of single-clicking
).
But good luck getting a response from tech support, I was never able to. -
Would inv/dark be number 3 or is some other armor more resilient?
I know inv is best on s/l but from what I've seen it does quite good all around. -
Medium short: If you solo and are not damage capped (ie kinetics who can handle large groups) then yes.
If you team and are not a kinetic who is capping the whole team to damage, then absolutely yes.
One example: the difference between katana and broadsword in terms of damage per hit (not per unit time because katana already does more that way) is 27%. Assault alone gets you almost half the way there. -
/nitpick, I never said it was the only way, just the short version. =)

Quote:I also found that darkest night helps a lot on tougher enemies. But everyone underestimates the effect of sapping endurance. Powersink + lightning field really shuts down minions and lieuts (or at least the ones that didn't die from lightning rod hehe), and so you're only taking damage from the bosses and they won't be attacking near as often as usual./ELA is a fine set.
With tough your sitting at around 58% to S/L. Your capped to energy damage. You can easily be at 40% resist to psi and getting to 50 isn't hard. You can ignore end drains and slows don't make much of a dent into your recharge.
By using Power Sink as a proactive tool to end drain spawns and lightning field to keep the end drained you greatly increase your survivability in large spawns.
I have always found that /Ela tends to shine in things like the LRSF, Apex, Tin Mage or the new trials where there is a large amount of Energy and Psi damage.
Of course the set is much better on IO's than just SO's but then what set isn't?
It's not as good as say softcapped defenses, but it makes a noticable difference. -
Quote:Except he wants to do it in melee. =)Aim - Drain Psyche - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Concentration - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Blaze - etc.
From that point use Drain Psyche, Aim, and Concentration when they recharge. Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares is your repeating attack chain. Sprinkle in Rebirth and Aid Self as needed. Use Pyronic Judgement for giggles as you want. Add in the Lore pets for efficiency. -
Here are two links to help you:
First, the Incarnate System with all the specifics for your powers and so on.
And second, some background on Incarnates in the lore.
the short version is:
1. Get a character to level 50.
2. Go to oroboros and talk to Mender Ramiel and run his story arc to unlock your Alpha Slot, which gives a boost to most of your powers once you have crafted a boost to put into it.
3. Join some Incarnate Trials (most form in the Rikti Warzone) to get the ingredients you need to unlock your other slots and to craft your alpha boost. There are currently two (BAF and Lamda) but a third is coming quite soon.
