Issue sending email to my other toons

I have been trying to send an email with an attachment from one toon to another on the same server, both are heroes. However I keep getting an error that states "recipient name is too long." I can send a text to my other toons but nothing with attachments.

All of my email options have been enabled. I have tried with a space before the @ symbol, after the @ symbol, and with no space between @ symbol, name and handle.

Hope someone can tell me what error I'm making.

Thanks.

Just send the e-mails to your global name. You can pick them up on any toon then.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

You do not send an email to your toon/s name. You email to your global name for instance in my case I would email to @hard attach whatever I'm emailing then send. Once Ive done that I log in the toon that needs the cash, enhancments, salvage etc and claim the items from the email

@hard - @authorised
Little less conversation - little more action please

I have tried sending to just my global handle and it keeps putting the attachment right back into the inventory of the character I used to send it. The moment I hit send it says the item was claimed.

If your global was "Dar of Kiban", then you would send the e-mail to:

@Dar of Kiban

It will pop up in that character's email the second you send it, since it's a global email it will be claimable by any character on that account.

Try emailing something to your global and then switching characters, it should be in the other character's email.

If it's not in the second character's email, you'll probably have to contact Support as there isn't anything us other players can do to help.

In addition to what the others have said, also make sure your mail box isn't full.

In terms of attachments, I believe the limit is around 20 or so.

The limit for the email box is 20 technically you could probably hold more than that but you won't be able to send emails once you hit 20

Thanks for all the responses. I will have to contact Support on this one. I keep getting told that the item has been claimed the moment I click send on my email. But I do appreciate all the help.

Your global didn't change with the merge did it? (if it was an EU account it may have - if it was a trial account it will have) - If the global you send it to doesn't exist you will get the behaviour you describe.

Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr

That's not really true either. If the global you are sending to does not exist, the e-mail will simply be instantly returned to your own in-box, but the item should not be auto-claimed (unless of course the Claim button is overlapping the Send button, and the OP is double-clicking instead of single-clicking ).

This is a known issue, and there are at least two threads about it in the tech support section. In my case the work around was sending to "@gavin runeblade" which is absolutely NOT my actual name. All other people have to send to @gavinruneblade, but to send email to myself I have to use @gavin runeblade. It's annoying and I suspect going to lead to a real mess if anyone makes "Gavin Runeblade" as an account.

But good luck getting a response from tech support, I was never able to.

"Hmm, I guess I'm not as omniscient as I thought" -Gavin Runeblade.
I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
