Challenge: Melee GM soloer? Possible?!

Alright, I have a new mission. I want a challenge, main, and GM soloer, who is to be the leading-role in a future comic series.

Mission:
To create a melee archetype (Tanker, Brute, Scrapper, Stalker, Blapper, Dwarf WS/PB, Widow, Bane) that when brought to max level and worked upon, will possibly be able to solo GMs.

Rules:
----What is allowed?
--------1) Any permanent powers (even Lore Pets are alright, they are permanent, so I count them, but I would like to TRY to avoid using them IF POSSIBLE)
--------2) Limitless Inf build
--------3) Any build, within those archetypes described, is considered

----What isn't allowed?
--------1) The use of temporary powers
--------2) The use of inspirations
--------3) Outside buffs

I am not expecting builds here, as I will find this to be part of my challenge.

I am looking for direction as what archetypes combos could make this possible.

Now, I realize asking to be able to take down ANY GM is far-fetched, but even a few or more would be satisfying.

I like soloing, even from 1-50, so you can take into consideration leaving out group abilities, or group essential powers (taunt etc.).

Reasoning:
I love the look, and feel, of melee toons, and love creating backstories. I have a comic-book art background, and wish to make this character the leading role in a comic series I want to create. But, in my mind, I want my character to do things some others are unable to do... and GM soloing seems to fit my niche of "powerhouse hero". This would help me get into the character and find a true story.
This is to be my one-and-only main character, and possibly my last 50+.

Even if concept doesn't seem possible in the combo, please tell me anyways, I will make it work even if research is needed to find a connection.

Thank you, very much, in advance!
-Chris

A high end DM/SD scrapper CAN do this, I know as I've done it versus the Khronos GM.

Try an Invuln/Dual Blades tanker with both -res procs, and either the -regen debuffing Interface, or Reactive (don't remember which one debuffs regen offhand)

Survivability will pretty much be a given, which will let you focus your slotting on damage output.

And you will only need about 55% recharge + Hasten to have Dull Pain perma. And that's all you'd need, because the chain that takes advantage of all that resistance debuffing potential doesn't need any global recharge at all (Nimble Slash-Blinding Feint-Attack Vitals combo, with procs in Ablating Strike and Sweeping Strike)

With both -res procs piled on top of Bruising you can potentially hit -60% resistance. If you choose to add Reactive Interface you can crank the potential debuff up to -85% resistance and add the Fire DoT for more damage.

You should be able to whittle down a GM eventually with that.

Anyway, been thinking about respecing into a higher STdps build on my brute, right now he doesn't *quite* have enough DPS but if i were to slot gloom with dmg and maybe add the -res proc to burn he could do it. Of course, last time i tried was before they nerfed reactive (still dont think dmg auras were broken >.<)

the lethal dmg would be awful versus something like the kronos titan

each -resist proc is only 20% and theres only 2 -resist procs, so thats -40% max from procs, and reactice is -10% with max stack of 4 aso you would get -50% resist max out of what you described

as for the build in question, either a DM/fire or SS/fire brute with either the -regen interface or reactives DoT. for lore pets i would suggest warworks (unless one of the newer trees in i20.5 works better)

Do the -res procs actually stack? I thought they didn't.

Yeah, but (if I'm reading the OP right) he doesn't have to be able to take down EVERY GM, just ANY GM. Lethal works fine against some GMs right?

Thanks everyone!

I know others have done this, but I from what I have seen, they rely heavily on the lore pets to move damage along. Which is fine, and I congratulate them, but I would to try and not use them if there is a possibility.

As to which GMs, a few would be good. I know some GMs are extremely tough, but I don't need to take all of them down, a few would suffice.

Every hero has the enemy they can't take alone, and that is how I will play off GMs that are out of my league. Even Superman couldn't solo EVERYTHING.

the achilles proc and the pvp proc for -resist (i dont recall the name atm) do stack since they grant the target different powers

they wont stack with themselves though so 2 achilles heel procs will not stack but they give more chances for the -resist to apply keeping it more consistent

I see. I thought they somehow applied the same thing and it was just like having two achilles procs, you just get more chances for the -res.

I've soloed Kraken, Adamastor, Babbage, Jurassik, a DE Monster, and Kronos with a high/end incarnate DM/SD.

Aim - Drain Psyche - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Concentration - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares - Blaze - etc.

From that point use Drain Psyche, Aim, and Concentration when they recharge. Blaze - Flares - Mind Probe - Flares is your repeating attack chain. Sprinkle in Rebirth and Aid Self as needed. Use Pyronic Judgement for giggles as you want. Add in the Lore pets for efficiency.

Would we consider a perma Veng as 'solo'? A dead alt sitting there at its feet isn't 'killing' the GM.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
