I pick up either a 10k raptor pack in Grandville or the dayjob pack for characters I park in Port Oaks. Usually the atlas park mayhem pack lasts my characters long enough, but if I'm parked in oaks for a while, it might run out, and it is handy to have replacements.

I don't have weak search fu, I have no search fu. I could swear I once read something about fixing the problem of the weird boxes that appear around light sources in game. Can someone point me in the right direction, or help me with the advice directly?

Quote:Weird, I've never seen a contact send me to the architect except the annoying architect manager contact all new characters are given.Whoops, and I'm a hero. I really appreciate the help. I like the game alot thus far, and don't want to get too irritated by it already. Alot of the NPC's in the game tell me to go to the Mission Architect and do missions there. It's a lil confusing.
In any event, I recommend either doing some newspaper missions in Kings Row or swing past the hollows and talk to the detective.
The Hollows has a string of four contacts that each lead to the next and have some wonderful stories. The Second contact, Flux has a very cool final mission with one of the best custom maps in the game filled with awesome ice slicks you can fight on. Rough final fight though, but I've never had trouble finding people who want to join up for it. Do not talk to Megan in the hollows. She only gives random missions, so no story arc and no merits and she will never introduce you to another contact. Talk to Detective (forget his name) then Flux, then Julius the Friendly Troll, etc.
The Kings row missions you will out level soon and you will be sent to Skyway and Steel Canyon. But they are good missions while they last. -
Is the effect of people taking recipes and salvage placed at below vendor price on the market and vendoring them totally negligible?
I'm thinking that considering all items posted on WW as a loss to the economy only might not be accurate if you post a 5 inf and someone sells it to a vendor for 250. I know I start many of my characters out doing this for enough to buy some DOs and cheap IOs.
I don't think it is enough to alter your numbers in any meaningful way, but I figured I'd mention it. -
All the taskforces give you the same number of merits per hour based on the average time to complete. If you think one doesn't give enough, that's because it is faster to finish. If your team took longer than average, then you took longer than average.

The Circle of Thorns Spectres and and Nerva Demons have a male scream when they fade so there is a sound file the dev's could have used for the male ghosts if they had wanted to. Suggests to me they chose not to. Or they forgot that sound existed when they created the ghosts, but I like to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I will say that Television is much more fun if you've done Radio as a lowbie.
Also St. Martial has some fantastic stories. Johnny Sonata is a good one with a great twist ending. But the wailers in general are fun enemies. I always laugh when they say the "You suuuuuuuuuuuk!" line.
And the Invention Tutorial villain side is very silly. Don't miss it and read everything, it is really worth your time. -
Quote:Don't forget the choice to slot them into AoE attacks. In which case they have a 10% per target. I see a great deal of value from slotting procs in powers that reliably hit 3+ enemies. In terms of practical play, they were really underwhelming. Their one and only charm was that Eagle's Claw would disorient a Boss 10% of the time (EC's Disorient+proc). Cute, but anything but reliable.
I can see using those procs on an Energy Melee character though, just to make its secondary effects even more ridiculous lol. -

Best part is the squashed cat for the logo. I love cats, but that logo always makes me chuckle. I see it and imagine PETA fanatics cringing and I smile. Which has nothing to do with how great a job it does. -

However, if you have a lot of alts it's basically impossible to save up enough to get exactly what you want on each character. So on characters that you're never going to get 200 merits on, the random roll may be the way to go. Intending, of course, to sell whatever you get and then bid on what you really want.
[/ QUOTE ]
I find just the opposite. I have a bajillion alts and random is good for me not because I sell and buy what I want, but rather because I almost always have someone who needs what I rolled. -
@ Santorican: Quick question on Stamina and Quick Recovery: You have a double and triple slotted. The only mod that works is EndMod, the recharge and Acc are wasted.
Wouldn't better slotting for both powers be EndMod, EndMod/Rch, Proc? -
I get the power a little less than 1/2 the time. Tried it 11 times only got the power 3.

Easy way to millions of inf:
1) Run the tutorial
2) Keep the large insps
3) Kill Hellions while joining a sewers team and waiting for it to start
5) Put the insps in WW and list a few below a round number (should net a good 50 or 60K minimum. 49,998 is a safe listing)
6) Run with a sewer group to lvl five or six
7) Return to WW and Collect inf
8) Start flipping Destinies (buy for around 45K and sell for 100K, or shoot, use tickets from the MA if you want to save on buying costs. I flip because i can literally do so in my sleep).
9) Repeat step 8 until you have a few million saved up and move on to bigger game.

Refined a smidge. -

And I believe that the cosmetic surgeons can also modify your costume as well, not just adjust your character model and frame...not sure about that one though.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can confirm that they can change everything. When you first click on them you get a selection window with the body models (male, female, huge) and sliders. It is the same window from the character generator. Hitting next takes you to the regular tailor interface. -
@tyger: Not all of them work as super tailors.
@op: Since you mentioned the facemaker (redside) there is supposed to be one in Cap's Tailor in the same back corner room as Glenda. The ones up front are definitely not super tailors. -
Gotcha, thanks for the follow up!

How is not having to have to deal with Kalinda or Burke "all screwed up"?
I would pay cold hard cash for the ability to never have those two on my contact list.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not just that - but if someone talks to H.T. or has any missions from in there, then ports out, they CANNOT get rid of any of them.
[/ QUOTE ]There is one way it might be possible. If you had the door mission, you might be able to use the mission teleport power to get to it. I don't know if it works, but it might. -

Since you can only have one proc, it appears that your best bet is to go 4 pieces of Performance Shifter in Quick Recovery, and 3 level 50 IOs in Stamina.
[/ QUOTE ]
The proc isn't unique. You can have one in each power. My recommendations still stand as the best.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm still not seeing your math add up. Proc +endmod + Common = ~45%.
Proc +3 from the set = ~50%.
50%> 45%
Dual 4 sockets would be ideal if, as follow up asked (not as OP asked) slots were not an issue. Correct? Or were you still answering OP and I'm answering follow up and we're talking in circles as a result? (in that case, see my sig)

Rikti drones don't have +Perception, they ignore stealth. there is a difference.

[ QUOTE ]
Exactly as I said it would be. Stamina and Quick Recovery each get their basic slot plus 2 more. My slotting recommendations require 3 slots in each for a total of 6 slots. The 2 starting slots plus the 4 free slots equal 6 slots.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not quite Ideal. It's good but can be improved. Ideal would require 7 slots = Quick Recovery gets 4 slots and Stamina gets 3. Here is the breakdown (from Laevateinn):
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
3x Lv50 Common IO
[/ QUOTE ]
+49.8% Recovery.
[ QUOTE ]
1x Lv50 Common IO
Performance Shifter: EndMod
Performance Shifter: Chance for +End
[/ QUOTE ]
+45.8% Recovery. You lose 4% Recovery, but the proc is around 0.2 EPS. This is what I tend to use.
[ QUOTE ]
Performance Shifter: EndMod
Performance Shifter: EndMod/Accuracy
Performance Shifter: Chance for +End
[/ QUOTE ]
Only +42.2% Recovery, but +1.87% HP. This is down 7.7% Recovery from ED-capped Stamina, though it isn't that bad considering you're still getting the proc. I used this slotting on my Controller and Defender, whose builds were both very tight on slots and had enough recovery from other sources that the lower enhancement values mattered less than the extra HP buffer.
[ QUOTE ]
Performance Shifter: EndMod
Performance Shifter: EndMod/Accuracy
Performance Shifter: EndMod/Recharge
Performance Shifter: Chance for +End
[/ QUOTE ]
+50.4% recovery (including 2.5% set bonus), another 0.2 from the proc and +1.87% HP, at the cost of 1 extra slot.
[/ QUOTE ]

Broadsword/Willpower and Katana/Willpower are both ridiculously great combos with nutty survivability with just SOs. The only two mobs that actually ever gave me trouble were Overseers (which I only really fought because I wanted the katana model) and Mu Guardians (because of EM Pulse).
[/ QUOTE ]I've found the following problem with regen: spike damage. I can handle maybe 12 crey tanks no worries. But one boss or the wrong batch of lieuts with heavy burst and I go splat faster than my heals can compensate. No amount of recharge matters. Defense and resist sets slow the rate of incoming damage, regen either soaks it or dies. -
I've moved it from tray to tray, deleted and re-added, logged zones, logged in and out, etc. Can't get it to autofire on any character.
-
Is it just me or is haste not able to be set to autofire for anyone else? I can autofire all my attacks and most powers but not haste on any character. Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks! -
So, I'm on a Mac, no Mids available. Actually, I don't think we have anything except that outdated online one. I have no idea what order powers and slots were taken except that it was not a very good order.
I know that I didn't take Instant Heal until after level 41, for instance.
There was no planning put into this character (was my third ever, first I took past level 10 and has never been respecced). The sets I have I only have because they are what I found as I played with a little bit bought to fill out what I started to slot. In theory you can say I built for Damage, and +HP, but that was more luck than intent.
Looking to retool to be more effective when I exemplar through Oroboros as I've been spending more and more time going back and catching up on arcs I missed. Plus looking to fix the really obvious mistakes (overslotted stamina, underslotted quick recovery, etc).
Budget is shoestring and that's really why I need the help and can't just use a posted build. I have 60m and what I can get for the IOs I pull out during the respec, and that's with me marketing (I'm not any good at it). I did pull the Armageddon Proc on an ITF (so far my only purple in 17 months of play) and I am seriously thinking of selling it to finance the rest of this character.
The only real requirement I have on the build is that it must use fly. That said, so far all the builds I've seen online so far are either way, way, way outside my budget (so the slotting advice doesn't help me any and that's key), or take critical powers too late to be any use flashbacking below level 30/20.
That said, here's what I'm sitting on:
Hack: Crushing Impactx5, Touch of Death x1 (not proc)
Slash: Scirrocox2, Oblit x2 (not proc), Lady Grey (proc). I have rest of Oblit except the proc I can swap in.
Parry: Makox4, Slugfestx2 (placeholder for rest of Mako)
Buildup: Adjusted Targeting x3
Whirling Sword: Eradicationx4, Lady Grey (proc+1)
Disembowel: Mako proc (move to parry planned, unless there is a better suggestion), touch of death x4, damage SO
Headsplitter: Scirroccox5, Armageddon proc
Fast Heal: 3x heal IO
Quick Recovery: Heal SO, 2xPerf Shift (no proc)
Integration: (miraclex3)
Dull Pain: Doc Woundsx5, Heal IO
Reconstruction: Rchg IOx2, Heal IOx2
MOG: Luck of Gamblerx3 (incl recharg)
Instant Heal: Heal SO, Rchg SOx2
Air Superiority: Acc IO
Fly: Winter's Giftx3
Haste: Rchg IOx2
Swift: Fly IO
Health: Miraclex2, Health IO
Stam: Efficiency Adapterx4
Assault: End Io
Tactics: Gaussians x2 (buildup + tohit)
Dark Mstry:
Petrifying Gaze: Ghost Widow x4, Acc SO, Rchg SO
Dark Blast: Devastation x4
------
My set bonuses work out to:
+215 HP
+13.5% Damage (not counting assault)
+4 End
+17.5% Recharge (not counting haste)
16% Accuracy (not counting tactics)
.35% Regen (not counting health/fast healing)
.11% recovery (not counting stamina/Quick recovery)
(not shabby for dumb luck, but not great)
---
So, I have effectively zero defense and resistances. I go splat when bosses sneeze at me, much less EBs/ AVs.
I was thinking of pulling two out of Petrifying gaze and one from buildup and one from Stamina to pump Tactics to 6-slots and put in the full Gaussians. Possibly swap fitness for fighting, or at least pickup Maneuvers.
Where should I pull slots from to get Instant Heal and Reconstruction to 5 slots for doctored wounds? Pull one from Dull Pain or leave it and swap the heal for a heal/recharge (it's only at 80% recharge now so the extra bit might come in handy)?
Any advice on cheap sets for my attacks? I've been looking at Mako's full set bonus, but I already suck against 90% of the enemies due to their lethal/smashing resistances that a smashing proc is looking like a waste of a slot.
I can slap in some Achilles Heel procs, they're fairly cheap, but I had two in previously (one in Slash, one in Hack) and was not impressed. To be specific, the number of blows required to kill lieutenants and bosses didn't change unless it was something like a Malta Titan, and then it was really only a 1 or 2 swing drop depending on how often the proc went off. And with needing 20+ hits to put one down, that wasn't good enough to keep.
Also, anyone who runs solo flashbacks a lot (including the sub-level 20 ones) have input on what level of sets are a good investment and won't shaft me out of too much when I'm at full? I'm mostly in the range from 28 to 46 and when I buy I try to buy in the 30-ish range.
Though I'm thinking about making a second build for flashbacking with all level 50 common IOs and a very few sets at level 20-25. Bah.
Anyway, all help much appreciated.
