Costume pieces with purchase? COSTUMES! COSTUMES!

Hello all and thanks for reading, this is my first post on this forum as I have just purchased the Good v Evil edition of CoH.

On the store page it mentions some costume pieces that come with purchase.

Specifically-

•Exclusive in-game items: Select between the Super Booster I: Cyborg pack and the Super Booster II: Magic pack.

How do I access this and if possible, could somebody give some detail as to what is included with each set?

Also I would like to know how else I can get more costume pieces. If there is already some kind of costume piece guide then a helpful link would be much appreciated.

Details of the Boosters can be found here.

Any additional costume pieces you get from purchased items (boosters, full game editions, etc) can be accessed any time you can access costume pieces.... i.e, during character creation, or when you go to a tailor shop in-game to change your costume.

(The choice of boosters is the bonus for the Architect Edition, btw, not Good v Evil.)

Wait a minute...

Did you purchase the Good vs Evil edition or the Architect edition?

Good vs Evil comes with the Pocket D VIP and Teleport, the Jump Pack and the Sinister and Justice costume sets. These can be accessed immediately upon applying the box code to UPGRADE your account.

The Good vs Evil edition does not come with Booster pack choices. That would be the Architect edition.

Architect edition comes with a choice of either Super Booster I: Cyborg or Super Booster II: Magic. In that case when you apply the box code to UPGRADE your account it should ask you which booster pack you want to apply.

Welcome to the game and the forums.

Ah, it seems I mistakenly was looking at the AE details instead of the GvE details.

I do have the GvE edition.

So the sinister and justice pieces should be available to me then since I upgraded from a free trial account, correct? I recieved my VIP badge and teleporter as soon as I logged in so I can only hope I have some new costume goodies waiting for me when I access a tailor.

Thank you for the speedy replies.

Please note that the Pocket D teleporter might not work until your character hits L3. This would be to prevent CoV characters from exiting the tutorial without first picking thier initial contact, and thus getting "all screwed up" in terms of the contact tree.

How is not having to have to deal with Kalinda or Burke "all screwed up"?

I would pay cold hard cash for the ability to never have those two on my contact list.

Yeah. the Justice and Sinister costume pieces should be in the costume creator. You can either hunt for them in the drop gown menus or just click on the big bar at the top of the screen and select Justice or Sinister from the drop down menu.

Pieces should be in:

Chest (Tight, Baggy, Armored)
Shoulders
Gloves (1st drop down. 2 kinds regular and with pads/plate)
Pants (Tight, Baggy, Armored)
Boots (1st drop down, 2 kinds regular and with pads/plate)

Also, purchasing a full version of the other Editions includes a month of game time so you can purchase additional Editions for their in-game bonuses for a net cost of about $5.00, since the Editions usually cost about $20.00 and a month of game time is about $15.00.

Keep in mind that you can only apply one of each Edition to a single account, so buying one copy of the Good vs. Evil Edition (which appears to be what you purchased), but a second code for the Good vs. Evil Editon could not be applied to that same account.

Also, to do this, use the "Upgrade Account" option for your account, do not "Add" as that would create an addition account.

Except that would make it a bit difficult to get your Cape & Aura missions.

That's fine, if you have someone else to give you the Costume and Aura missions. Maybe an Arbiter should do it instead?

Actually, it's to prevent players from exiting the tutorial with a mission that they cannot complete or clear in their active mission list, since they would not be able to communicate with the Breakout/Outbreak contact once they leave the tutorial zone.

I think there was a person who posted on the forums who was telling his SG mates to enter the tutorial zone and then die and use the Base TP to get out of the tutorial, but they would have the mission in their mission list and couldn't clear it. From what I saw, the guy was an idiot about it, too. I just never understand the need to enter the tutorial just to glitch your way out of it. Seemed pretty stupid.

Arbiters have enough to do without dealing with every whiny villain who can't be bothered to go through proper channels.

It's not just that - but if someone talks to H.T. or has any missions from in there, then ports out, they CANNOT get rid of any of them.

You can either hunt for them in the drop gown menus

Where is it?

Sort of on topic: Having Burke and Kalinda give the cape and aura missions is "unfair" and shows that the devs really hate heroes. Heroes have to go and personally talk to the City Rep, whereas villains can just call their first contact, provided that they did enough of the starting missions to get that option. Doesn't actually bother me, just pointing it out. Although, it would be nice if heroes could get a way to call the City Rep, even if it was only after doing the cape mission.

Only if they do enough to get the phone number from Burke or Kalinda - they both kinda hold out on you.

So what happens to those pacted folks who level past 2 in the tutorial? I saw a level 3 in there when I ran my last alt through.

I believe you must actually train to 3 in order to use the powers.

[/ QUOTE ]There is one way it might be possible. If you had the door mission, you might be able to use the mission teleport power to get to it. I don't know if it works, but it might.

Thanks for the link Plyxx, was definitely in my field of interests

Off topic here, but I can always make another thread if I don't get an answer...

When I get to Oakes Harbor (sp? the second island as a villain) I was told to contact a couple people. Of the 2, Mikey the Knife is the only one that shows up and he won't give me a mission.

I did all the quests for Kalinda and Mongoose, how do I get my next quest?

Posted

Once you see the contact in Port Oakes (in this case it sounds like you have Mikey the Ear), you are given a Newspaper that appears on the top of your contact list. Doing a few missions from that will award you a Mayhem mission. Completing the Mayhem will allow you to return to Mikey and get a new contact. This process pretty much repeats as you out-level zones or contacts.

Thanks 37 and Backfire, Plyxx had actually already posted that same link, but thanks anyway.
