Quote:The same here. When I have it download a patch (before logging in, a la the old launcher, not in the background), it downloads and installs MUCH faster than the old installer did.
Whether I already have the launcher running or I start it up before playing and it tells me it has a new patch to download the patch dls and applies much much quicker than the old. -
Quote:This. The old updater worked well with Steam: you launched the launcher in Steam, then the launcher launched the game, and you could play CoH with Steam functionality. That doesn't work with NCSoft launcher.
I miss having the Steam Overlay and Steam Notifications. If I get a steam chat message or want to message someone I have to Alt-Tab now rather than press Shift+` (I changed it from the default Shift+Tab)
Also, I like it to be showing I am playing the game as it will prevent stuff like the other day when someone asked me to join their game while I was playing CoH and I had to tell them I couldn't because I was in-game.
And I just want to also say I disagree with SnowGlobe in the regards of the Speed. It downloads patches and applies them way faster than the old one. And I'm also on Vista Home (premium) -

Dear Mods,
As of 8/3/2010 the initial Changes to Forum Rules was changed for "Must be Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or pertaining to comics" to anything is allowed as long as it isn't political, sexual, or video games.
Here is the post text where Ocho announced revisions to the proposed revisions
Quote:And here is the direct link in said post.- Finally, in regards to off topic topics allowed in the appropriate forums, instead of our original proposal limiting topics to those pertaining to Science Fiction, Anime, Fantasy, and Comics (as well as anything with direct CoH relevance), we will expand this to include all topics relevant to our players excluding political and religious topics, video games, and comments about physical attributes or of a sexual nature.

Quote:Greg Pak was writer for the World War Hulk event. Which, in my opinion wasn't all that awesome. Planet Hulk was, yes, but not so much World War Hulk.I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this comic event yet. Maybe it's 'comic event fatigue'. Maybe because it hasn't been hyped as much as the events of the last few years. But the Chaos War event has something that none of those other events had: Greg Pak as the primary writer. Which means it's totally awesome.

There was a thread posted about the same deal here in these forums and Mod12 deleted them because they were "advertising".

I for one won't miss them because I could never take part in them (except maybe the caption craziness ones) because they were a first come 1st serve contest and they started at 1 pm est and I don't have access to a computer until 3:30. Well after a winner has been found.
I hope in the future Screenshot and Crossword (or their equivelant) are made drawing from people who answered correctly so people who aren't at home/work with a computer can join in.
Course it probably won't matter because after August 4th I won't be posting here anymore if the ban on video game discussion sticks. -

Ha. That would definitely be a shirt only comics people paying attention to the current comic scene would get, but I love it.

I would assume b, but I would ask "Can/will you take a level xx *archetype*" before I ask to join with a lower than level 50 character.

i'm running Vista 64-bit and no issues either (other than the cursor seems to get wonky when it's near the bottom of the enhancements screen)

I can't confirm or deny I'm responsible for 2 of those.

Quote:Didn't they go back and rerelease the OMG volumes? Because I vaguely recall something about how the issues were sorted in the original releases, being somewhat problematic.Quote:Foamy: you have the On My Goddess listings all wrong:
First, the series is up to vol 32
Second, the volumes with titles are no longer in print, just the smaller unflopped, untitled volumes
Third, the "titled" volumes also have a Volume 19/20 Sora Unchained
In othere words: yes, they are in the process of re-releasing the OMG volumes. Alternateing a new volume and a re-released volume every cycle (2 months.) They started it with the Japanese equivelent to vol. 21 and are up to vol. 33 of the new volumes and vol. 12 of the re-releases. And like I said, the older titled ones that are already reprinted are no longer in print/you're less likely to find in regular bookstore. -
And actually, another problem I figured out while out and about yesterday about a "walk emote" is: the speed of players.
As far as I know, Emotes have NO EFFECT on the speed of the players abilities. And none of them move a character from the spot they started it in. Notice that you have to do the Flypose emotes while moving forward?
The only things that can affect a player's speed is a power. Emote have no effect on a player's speed. Thus a "walk emote" would look like crap because you would be moving at full run speed while "walking".
And even IF they do an emote, they would STILL have to at least do turning animations or it will still look like crap.
