Problems with Vista?
Mostly. Sort of like Xenomorphs and night.

Vista IS a problem. XP is the solution. Or maybe Windows 7, but only time will tell.
i have never had a problem running CoH on vista. the only thing i had to do was make sure i put -compatiblecursor1 in the properties.
Had some initial problems running CoH with Windows 7, but support solved that quickly enough. Vista... I dunno.

not saying that is the case, just what i did to take care of the problem. i did notice though that when i reinstalled the game after doing a recovery that i didn't have to do that.
Zero issues with Vista install.
I got a black screen in CoH after an Nvidia driver update, so rolled 'em back, and fine so far.
Are the August 13 Nvidia drivers okay?
The major issue is that a "family" computer may not have the graphics/memory/cpu horsepower to play this game well. Most computers will have "integrated graphics solutions" or some such, which means fine for word processing, email, and internet, but can be lacking for graphic intensive games, like this one.
What are the system specs?
www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

If Vista were causing that to happen, it would have been resolved a long time ago, or every Vista user would be required to have that flag in the shortcut. I don't have any flags in my shortcut, I'm certain that there are others who aren't using that flag, so that means it has to be something else. Mouse driver, the extra software bundled with the driver, a specific program running in the background... not the OS. If it were the OS, everyone running that OS would be having the problem, and that isn't the case.

The game runs on Vista without any more issues than anybody trying to run it on whatever OS would have.
I can also confirm that I use Vista (64-bit home version) and I have ZERO problems with running CoX.

i'm running Vista 64-bit and no issues either (other than the cursor seems to get wonky when it's near the bottom of the enhancements screen)
Also running on vista, with no obvious problems.

That's a seperate ATI bug and happens regardless of OS version
I have Vista 32-bit and an NVidia card, and Vista periodically causes the graphics card to hiccup and CoX to stop responding. It's a driver failure of some sort, and doesn't happen with any of my other games. Anyway, I see quite a few people grousing about Vista crashing their game, so it obviously works fine for some, not for others.

The only problem I have with running CoX in Vista is that I have to tell it "Yes, I REALLY want to run CoX." every time I launch it off the quickbar.
If you're the only person using your computer, why not just turn off UAC?
Fair enough. I have a ton of programs that bring it up, so it was a major PITA for me.

Btw CoX went from 30fps to 60fps. Like glass...That gets broke.Still my favorite game.
Have all the former problems with vista as far as disappearing cursorers and stuff like that been fixed. My parents are getting a coomuter with vista and I am wondering will this game still be able to play on that computer even though it has vista.
