The common salvage crusade (TCSC)

So ya I'm tired of all the poor lazy people complaining about how they cant afford anything because commons are SOOO expensive now. To remedy this problem we need to increase supply, to increase supply we need to generate salvage.

My solution is to forum a crusade to supply more common salvage daily. The goal is small currently, only 100 common salvage per person per day ( this works out to 800 tickets, or half a mission worth of tickets basically).

If you'd like to help out select a level range and tech or arcane and list them here so we know which ranges are getting serviced, then roll 100 of them a day and list them for 10 influence at WW/BM .

I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

I'll start with the level 25ish tech drops.

Hmm...11 bronze rolls or 100 common salvage with the intention of driving prices DOWN on salvage...this sounds distinctly non-ebil to me.

true that, but I already have 9 market toons being ebil, I can sacrifice 800 tickets a day.

For just half a mission worth of tickets, you too could help feed the poor!

I've been doing this since MA launched. Made over 100 million selling common and uncommon salvage.

People still pay me 50k for them when they could get them for 50.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

So they don't want to generate the salvage and are willing to pay a nice chunk of cash for them ... and this should make me WANT to sell them the salvage at a lower price?! Ummm, what am I Congress now? No thanks, I'll stick to my non-charitable ways...

This. Generally the people whining about prices are just using it as an excuse to justofy their laziness about IOing out their characters while simultaneously coveting it

I've been collecting common salvage from tickets and listing everything at 10k regardless of going rate and making a killing. If people want to waste their infl, I'm not gonna stand in there way. I've been able to fully slot (w/sets) my Fire/Nrg blaster at lvl 35 and will have more then enough to slot my Rad/Ice Fender when the time comes.

Thank You lazy Folks!

Ohhhh, a new evil plot!!! You do realize that some ebil flipper could come in and buy up your supply and flip it at the current market prices? I like this plan!

10k? That's too low. Add a zero.

[/ QUOTE ]Sorry but I am against this whole thing. Salvage drops pretty much like rain and rare salvage can easily be gained as needed from a 1 single AE mission. Absolutely no one should have a reason to complain about salvage at this point. Its just too easy to get outside of the market. Recipes on the other hand is a different story all together. I can see doing what you are saying to help the recipe situation but never for salvage. Normally I am all for cheaper prices on everything but how do you get cheaper than free when it comes to salvage? The time taken to get it is one missions worth of work at best. Recipes on the other hand take a bit longer especially post ticket nerf.

BTW, I did an ITF last night and about filled up my salvage storage. I'm just saying...

Hey, I like this idea. I can only flip so much salvage in a day because there's only so much of it out there.

If you supply it cheap, I will buy it and sell it for much more. The prices will not even BLINK.

Hmm. I've been making a decent living these days just from running missions and selling common salvage - I'm all for keeping the prices higher (if I need a piece of salvage badly enough, I'll either pay, run more missions, or run to the AE and roll some, selling the extras).

Your plan might help the poor, won't hurt the rich, but will squeeze the middle class.

Inf

Yeah. If you're playing MA, you have to essentially be doing something wrong if you can't make a few million off a couple missions.

Seriously. A couple rares can give a toon their first million in a speed that's completely unheard of.

I regularly dump commons on the market at the price of 105 (gotta cover my costs, ya know). If I do MA, whatever I don't use in recipe rolls is used for common rolls.

It sure as hell sells, but I'm afraid though that people just immediately flip it and the net result is zero.

Why not save those tickets? Salvage rolls seem wastefull to me unless you are a reaaaaallly lowbie toon. But that's just me.

I tend to just list stuff for 10 inf. Most of it sells for prices well in excess of that. The stuff that doesn't, well, I don't want it taking up valuable space, nor do I want to hassle with running to a vendor.

And to be quite frank, most of my random salvage are in a certain category where a lot of what I'm picking up is going for 10K apiece or more.

I've spent the last two weeks in the MA exploring marketing possiblities (with new characters, not farming my 50's). After my first three mission runs, my lowbie promptly joined the millionaire club.

Normally what I do is go after whatever tier 3 salvage I can afford, then fill the spaces in with common salvage.

Well, with well-chosen salvage, you can net a cool million easily.

With random recipe rolls you are wagering a lot of tickets for the possibility of vendor trash.

Here's how I've been running it.

Spec-buy Tier 3 salvage, as many as you can (pretty much a guaranteed profit margin).
Fill up your salvage storage with common rolls.

The worst I've ever done was 1.5 million this way and I now have a Kin/Rad that's been bought-IO'ed since L20.

Once I hit the 30's, I'll use my leftover tickets for random bronzes.

My experience with gold rolls is entirely anecdotal (I've taken ONE on one on my main tank, once, and got a Numina's Regen/Recovery).

... not really. There is a supply and demand issue. Yes, there's a lot of people invested in the status quo on Alchemical Silver, but if you look at (random guess) Runes, throw enough at the market and prices WILL go down. Do it seven times a week and they will be down "most of the time". Patience wins the race.

My approach back in the days of plenty was to pick a price (19K if I recall) and keep a 10 of each salvage in stock at that price, as best I could. Wouldn't stop anyone from blowing through my price point on purpose, but it would slow down accidental shortages.

Easy way to millions of inf:

1) Run the tutorial
2) Keep the large insps
3) Put the insps in WW
4) Run with a sewer group to lvl five or six
5) Return to WW and list insps (should net a good 50 or 60K minimum)
6) Wait for insps to sell
7) Collect inf
8) Start flipping Destinies (buy for around 45K and sell for 100K, or shoot, use tickets from the MA if you want to save on buying costs. I flip because i can literally do so in my sleep).
9) Repeat step 8 until you have a few million saved up and move on to bigger game.

This is my SOP for all new toons and never have to worry about inf. I don't have to use an inf mule to transfer inf either. Every toon earns their own.

Edit: for spell check
