    I haven't done much pvp since the most recent changes, but I do have a 50 spines/regen, and I did pvp quite a lot with it once upon a time. Fear is (or was) invaluable. Use it in conjunction with Web Grenade and Caltrops. This is a fairly inexpensive build, but if you have more influence to spend I would suggest the two +regen uniques (one in fast healing, one in health.)

    If I played energy blast then I would definitely be one of the idiots.
    I avoid being an idiot by choosing better sets. Too bad newer players don't have the luxury of knowing (and knowing is half the battle!)

  11. Why do I hate energy blast? Depends on what character I'm playing at the moment.

    Because it knocks stuff out of my footstomp radius.
    Because it knocks stuff out of my fire breath cone.
    Because fireball hit half the critters it should've hit.
    Because my anchor just got shoved into the next spawn, and now they're all coming after me.
    Because I have to chase down everything nova didn't kill (lets not pretend nova kills everything, its not blizzard/inferno)

    I hate energy blast because it seems 95% of the players wear helmets and chin-strapped drool cups.

  13. I would just 3 slot health with the uniques. Being that you're working on a +def build, those other 3 slots could probably be better used elsewhere.

    With no outside buffs, my ss/fire's KoB hits for 711 ...thats with double stacked rage and fiery embrace (not sure exactly how much fury, but I'd guess around 90%) ..anyway my point is, in regards to the OP, katana definitely isn't it.
  16. It was obviously intended to fill in regen's only hole: the ability to take an alpha strike. The new MoG is wonderful.

  20. The luminous eidolon's radiation blast attacks have a -def component, but other than that your problem is simple: you're a low level defense set. You'll suffer now. You'll shine later.
