1. Replace the Hecatomb: Damage with the Hecatomb proc in Haymaker.

2. Replace the Obliteration: Damage with the Obliteration proc in Blazing Aura.

3. Replace the Armageddon: Damage with the Force Feedback proc in Foot Stomp.

4. Electrifying Fences should be slotted for damage. Put a set of Posi's Blast in there instead of the Gravitational Anchor set.

5. Drop the pet, take Burn.

I hope you don't mind if I throw my build in here as well for a look over, but it seemed like there's enough topics on SS/Fire without me adding another one. I don't have as much money to throw at the build, but I think this gives almost as much effectiveness.

Any improvements to these builds, suggestions, comments, concerns?

I put mine together a little differently since I didn't have that much influence to spare. My major concerns were hit points and recharge.

In Consume I went with 2 Efficacy Adaptors and 4 Performance Shifters for the additional hit points.

Also I respec'd out of Ball Lighting and got Mu Lighting and put in a set of Devastation for the added hit points and the hold. This power is quite good after fury is up and for any runners.

Really, after all the AOE damage you have you really don't need Ball Lighting but its really a matter of taste.

I did a mix of Crushing Impacts and Makos Bite for the recharge and hit points.

Not sure why you didn't get Burn since you took EF. Nice thing about EF is it doesn't allow knockback for a few seconds.

Right now I'm hitting about 2200 hit points but this also includes the accolades.

They're a bit squishy for IO'd out builds in my opinion.

Here's the build I use to solo 8-man Liberate or duo it even faster with a /Kin. (Meaning comparing 2 Brutes going two separate ways verse Fire/Kin + Brute working together, Brute + Kin is faster)

Don't double stack rage. When facing non-Nemesis or other enemies who don't have defense, and you have Fulcrum Shift, don't even bother turn on Rage #1. This Brute has minor endurance problems when spamming Foot Stomp, Fences and Ball lightning at perma-hasten speed when solo (boo friggin hoo). The build was made pre-PvP IOs. Also running the Virgil Strike Force was in mind in the design.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's what the 50% heal every 10 seconds is for.

Posted

Every 12 seconds. It's a big deal, trust me. I've taken that into account and it can't take half the beating the seriously tough Scrappers can. I guess it's enough for farming though.

Posted

There a lot of ss/fire scrapper these days?

Posted

We sacrifice some defense for the amount of carnage we can put out.

Posted

Actually Brutes are generally more survivable due to higher hit points, higher resist caps and the same defense values. Just never seen an IO'd out brute at those levels, not because it cannot be done, but because it isn't done.

Posted

The builds posted were for farming and general gameplay which it would be fine at. Maybe overly expensive for the results it achieves but sine you wanted to compare it to scrapper were there is no ss/fire.and then back peddle and say that brutes are generally more survivable.

Yes they are. Not generally with /fire and not specifically with these builds. However that wasn't what was asked in the thread.

So, any more suggestions to make this build better, whould anyone take dark over Elec for PPP?

Posted

I think the point of having the pet is for the -1000regen from EMP pulse, and another AOE attack in Ball of ligtning. Worth it or trade it in for Burn?

Posted

Oh I dunno about what powers the pets have, I've never thought about getting a pet for any reason other than recharge from an IO set. But, theoretically speaking, if your pet is in range to hit enough stuff with EMP for it to be worth it, its gonna get torn to shreds before it can.
