Unless you count the farmers and powerlevellers.

What? Padding numbers is all they are good for. Might as well use that to our advantage when it suits us.

    The irony.
    Outsmarted? Hardly. Outnumbered? Certainly.

    Oh and SupaFreak, well said.

Having to go through all my arcs to find out which ones work after the last patch has made me realize that I still love making arcs. So I'm going to try to make some more. Again. I have a crude idea for another VEAT arc... and I'm still thinking about that Incarnate challenge arc I started on months ago... and, and, and...
  3. Learning how to share aggro between different people is part of the challenge of the trial.
  4. I have just checked my arcs to see which ones work and which ones don't. I have fixed the arc I entered in April so I'm re-entering it for June:

    Arena: (#456200)

Gladiator fights in the arena have degenerated into a propaganda tool in the cold war between the U.S. and the Rogue Isles. You have been assigned as security during the World Championship in St. Martial.

The arc is intended to supplement the anemic official Soldier/Widow arcs so it works best for VEATs and other villains loyal to Arachnos, or people pretending to be loyal to Arachnos.
  5. Going through my arcs quickly to see which ones are playable:

    "The Doctor Returns" (1152)
Unplayable. The arc starts, the mission appears and the first mission can be selected. When trying to enter door it says something like MADoorInvalid, the arc automatically quits and the ratings window appears. I try to edit the arc; no errors are displayed. I try to republish and test it. I get a message that says that the title contains something that isn't allowed. I'm guessing it thinks my arc about "The Doctor", an npc in the game, is about "Doctor Who". Ridiculous. I report it as a bug and repeat it here: "The Doctor" shouldn't be in the filter.

"The Murders In The RWZ Morgue" (452144)
Playable, ironically, because this one actually uses names from an Edgar Allan Poe story. It's probably in the public domain by now, and in any case it's a parody, sort of, so it should be fine.

    "Evolve Or Die" (411446)
Unplayable. The arc won't even start. I edit it and am faced with a wall of orange errors. Let's see... "Frostfire", in the contact name and in the critter name; critter, Frostfire, is invalid; custom villain group "New Outcasts", is invalid; critter, "Frostfire", is invalid (again), eight more instances of "New Outcasts" being invalid. So yeah... I think "Frostfire" and "Outcasts" should be removed from the list.

    "Arena" (456200)
Playable, surprisingly, with only a few critters showing up as invalid blobs. They are "White Queen" and "White Bishop", respectively. I guess you can't use the names of real chess pieces so I'll recolor the armies as red and blue and rename them appropriately. Naturally "Queen" is a perfectly fine word that shouldn't be on the list, and even a combination like "White Queen" must be considered a combination that is so common that it would be insane to think that it could be trademarked or copyrighted in any way. I have updated the arc and now it should play just fine - I hope.

    "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friends" (114284)
    Playable.

"Fear And Loathing On Striga Isle" (350522)
    Playable and still awesome.

    "Faultline By Night" (445405)
Playable, but not quite as awesome. Fixed the last mission to make it easier to find the objectives, after some feedback from @MrCaptainMan. Haven't tested that bit yet but it should work.
  6. I've had these problems recently as well.

On Sunday I was going to join the MA Superteam on Virtue to play som AE arcs in the RWZ. The RWZ zone was fine, but as soon as we entered a mission my netgraph turned into a blood-splattered hedgehog. Outside of missions I saw receiving/sending values of 2500-5000, inside missions it surged to 10000-15000. I don't know what these numbers signify or if they have anything to do with the way the netgraph had red spikes all over it, but there we go.

Perhaps if you post the emote that is causing you trouble here we could figure out why, and test it ourselves to see if it's something that just affects you.

    ?nvasion Plans

Glad that everyone enjoyed themselves. For some reason my internet decided that teaming was not going to happen - whenever I went in a mission with the team my netgraph started looking like a blood-spiked hedgehog and I was lagging and rubberbanding all over the place. It was far too distracting so I left early.
  9. I think that's a known bug. They spawn in the wrong level range.
  10. I haven't been on test so I figured I would just ask here, for the benefit of someone who can't access the forums right now:

Do VEATs get to use any of the new weapons?
  11. I can see a slight point in differentiating between Astral and Empyrean merits but they both drop so rarely and only in a few very predictable situations that it seems hardly worth the trouble.

Incarnate Shards and Threads could be a different color, sure.

Personally I would like to be able to turn all of the drop flash texts off, or let me choose which ones I want to see (like, anything Orange and Purple), but we'd need a consistent coloring scheme for them first.
  12. I would tell you to play any of my villainous AE arcs (Search for @FredrikSvanberg), but the AE is currently in a state of buggery (lol) which can cause any or all of my arcs to be unplayable. I recommend "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" as a villainous arc where the character isn't a flunky, does evil and comes out on top.

On and then there's the arc in my signature which seemed to be popular.

I'm experiencing crashes in both trials on a regular basis. If I don't quit and restart the game after every trial, I almost invariably experience a crash on the second trial. The type of crash varies: I have experienced all of the following:
    • A crash with a dialog that asks me to describe what I was doing which sends the report to NCsoft.
    • A crash that sends a report to Microsoft.
    • A sound loop crash.
    • A crash that has a dialog that tells me that it's about to crash and asks whether I want to continue or exit.
    • A dialog that tells me there is a corrupt .pigg file (not always the same one).
    • (Rarely) Windows tells me a bad instruction was executed.
    • The game exits straight out to Windows without any warning at all.
I have updated my drivers. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE (driver version 270.61, and the nVidia site tells me it's at the most recent version).

I notice (with Task Manager) that the memory footprint of the game increases over time, and I also notice that right before the crash the game begins to slow down, as if thrashing.

These things and the wide variety of crashes make me believe that the game client is running out of memory. The .pigg files are probably being reported falsely as corrupt because the game is running out of memory reading them in.

These are all indications of a memory leak, perhaps in one of the powers that's used over and over in the trials by one of the Praetorian clockwork.

I haven't really experienced crashes in other content, including regular TFs and missions. It's certainly possible that the leak is always there, but is especially bad during trials because the large numbers of players and power invocations.

However, the crashes seem to happen more often in Lambda than in BAF. I've been involved with several attempts for the Master of Lambda, which makes it take much longer than normal. Most of those attempts have ended in crashes.
This is exactly what I have experienced, and still continue to experience.
  14. Martial Assault. Combining dual pistols, martial arts and weapon attacks into a single awesome set was the best idea the devs ever had! Oh, right. It doesn't exist. Crap.
  15. Ascendant even realized the trouble of Broadway musicals based on superheroes long before Spider-man! Spooky...
  16. Null the Gull was a Virtue phenomenon. I don't know if there was a gull in Pocket D on Freedom but since it was in Pocket D, who would ever notice? Or care enough to name it and form an impromptu cult worshipping it?
  17. A wild guess:

At the same tick as your endurance is reduced to 0, your recovery kicks in and gives you a few points of Endurance back. Toggles are cheap and a lot of them can keep running on fumes.

Or 100% doesn't actually mean 100% but 100 points and any bonus endurance you have is left after it's reduced by 100 points.
  18. All I can say is that if you put the same symbol on her chest, the pattern behind the symbol on the shield would perfectly represent her cleavage.
  19. Very annoying. I was about to transfer a character from Virtue to Union.
  20. I asked when AE was getting fixed.

This was mangled by Dark Watcher into "When will EA be fixed".

Naturally that version was what Doc Aeon decided to answer, with a joke.
