I bought it off Amazon. At the time, I paid about $80, but since it's not produced any more, all of their copies are from resellers, so the price varies.
Product Page
They've got 8 copies available right now, ranging from $8.99 "used" (be wary! "used" may mean "purchased but not used" or it may mean "unusable code because it's been applied to someone else's account") to $99.99 "new". Reading the descriptions, some of the "used" versions are missing the comic and/or the Statesman figure. One of them even has the CD as scuffed. Probably not a good buy on the used ones right now. However, the $99.99 version says it's still sealed by the publisher.
The ones they have available changes over time. I bought mine for about $80, and I've seen it listed new for $50 since then. Now it's $100 or more. -

Quote:That would be odd, because CoV CE certainly doesn't count for GvE. On my account, I applied (in order):I just recently tried this, and I couldn't apply the normal CoV code with only the GvE edition and architect code. So I'm guessing the GvE counts as CoV.

Quote:Not in W7, which the OP is using. Internet Explorer is pretty much snared into previous Windows operating systems, but W7 made it independent.Uninstalling Internet Explorer can have some interesting repercussions.
Quote:The COH/IE linking off the updater is baked in and AFAIK unchangeable.Quote:I asked about this some time ago (when they updated the web site) and was informed by Lighthouse that it is indeed hard-coded.
You can open up your command prompt right now and enter:rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler http://google.com
Your default browser will open up. Depending on your settings, you may have your existing open browser simply open a new tab.
Of course, most languages would place at least one layer of abstraction between that and the programmer. For example, C/++ would let you do this:
Code:#include <windows.h> void main() { ShellExecute(NULL, "open", "http://google.com", NULL, NULL, SW_SHOWNORMAL); }
Of course, things would be different outside of Windows, but I'm pretty sure most Mac users don't have IE, anyway. -

Flying opponents which spawn flying (the Longbow Eagle Attack Squad when you get too far into the sky near the bank during a mayhem mission, for example) appear to be stuck on top of an invisible pillar, so that their AI can never let them land. The same applies to anything the spawns flying, not just Longbow Eagles.

Sun_Splitter has 11 pips of negative rep.
Also, with a defaut vBulletin installation, reputation is supposed to be 5 dull pips and then indefinite bright pips. For some reason, our forum has this turned around. -
It even affects pets from temporary powers, like Shivans and Vanguard Heavies

Quote:The power does not have to be active for the aura to be in effect. The game treats unique powers like the auras as set bonuses, so as long as you have it slotted, you will have the aura.
Call to Arms and Expedient Reinforcement, for the record, are Recharge Intensive Pets sets, and MMs can only slot them into Gang War, Soul Extraction, and Hell on Earth. Bots, Mercenaries and Ninja MMs cannot use them.Quote:Unless they're /dark miasma or /storm.
At least, I think you can slot the recharge intensive ones in T-storm and dark servant.
Storm Summoning > Tornado can take RIP sets; Storm Summoning > Lightning Storm cannot (LS takes Ranged Damage instead) -

I think our diety options should include Betsy Ross, Br'er Rabbit, Columbia, John Henry, Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, Rosie the Riveter, and Uncle Sam

Quote:Brutes and Tankers both cap at 90% (though Brutes get Scrapper-like base values for their powers). EATs (Hero and Villain) cap at 85%. everyone else caps at 75%.In theory, the mitigation looks equal. In reality, only one AT can hit the 90% resistance cap (heroside...not sure about Brutes) and yet they can all soft-cap defense; and defense does reduce the incidence of mezz stacking, which occasionally helps melee ATs and constantly helps squishies, so Defense still has a small edge., But it's not nearly as lopsided as your initial math suggested.
However, note also that Masterminds distribute damage to their henchmen while in Bodyguard mode, after Resistance is applied. Bodyguard splits damage into 2 parts for the player, 1 part for each henchman in BG (so 70 damage with 6 pets in BG means 20 damage for the MM, 10 damage for each pet). So, MMs can combine BG's 'pseudo-resistance' with actual resistance, and could reduce their personal incoming damage by 93.75% (75% resistance with 6 pets in BG mode).
I believe the ghosts summoned by Necromany's Soul Extraction count towards BG, too; the ghosts all die after 300s and Soul Extraction recharges in 600s, so a high recharge build might be able to sustain 2 ghosts at once (assuming a zombie gets killed fast enough). That would let you get 8 pets in BG for 95% damage reduction when combined with 75% true resistance.
In practice, the henchmen tend to fall to AoEs faster than the high resistance could be useful, but in theory Masterminds get the highest damage reduction capacity in the game -

Quote:Because it's a game. For example on 1 power set you can only choose between 2 powers but then on the next power set you can only choose 1. What is the reason for this feature?
Because it's primary vs. secondary powersets.
Because it's incentive to make a Corruptor over a Defender, or a Defender over a Corruptor.
Because it's incentive to make a Tanker over a Brute, or a Brute over a Tanker.

I was complimented a few days ago... about how I was the only MM around that wasn't a Demon Summoner. (Playing on my Thugs/Dark, my main villain badger)

AFAIK, the only way to achieve this is to make it an AoE, since you cannot target yourself. A power can work on yourself (in which case it works on you no matter what you're targeting), a power can work on an ally (in which case it will be forced to target an ally when you try to use it), or it can be AoE (in which case it will hit both allies and yourself at the same time).
Quote:Also when Medicine is paired with some power sets from other AT's "Aid Other" is really the only alternative (because the player may prefer to solo much more often than find a group) and yet that AT may already possess a ally-only healing power.
Quote:"Stimulant" only reduces the DURATION of holds and other negative efects it does NOT render the bearer IMMUNE to them at all.
Quote:Also the "Stimulant" power can only be used out of combat because it can be interrupted.
I can understand your desire, but I don't think your suggestion will work. -
Quote:Yes, every power from Mind Control, as well as powers derived from the powers in Mind Control (Decieve == Confuse, for example), are flagged only as Psionic_Attack. A handful of other power (such as Blind) are similar. Many (most?) psionic control powers, like Mesmerize, are not flagged with a positional component, and therefore completely bypasses your defense.
Very few powers lack a Melee/Ranged/AoE vector that aren't Psionic (Fearsome Stare is only tagged with Negative_Energy_Attack). -
