Medium. That animation's been there for a little while. It is fun to see. I seem to recall other gang-type NPCs doing it.

Well, logging out works. The annoyance of actually typing to log in is less than the annoyance of going through lots of posts I've already read to get to the new one - which sometimes isn't even new at all. Thanks!

So, I have a few threads in my watchlist, and sometimes I'll read the rest of a thread I've started reading already. To go to new posts, I click the little triangle beside the title, which ought to take me to the first new post. However, it seems to work inconsistently, and sometimes I am taken to the previous new post; i.e., the post the triangle took me to the last time I read the thread.
Anyone know what's up with that? -
I've been having this problem too.
Although, I kind of like the animation...
I realize the rooting thing may be a problem, but I'd like to see this an option somewhere... -
Also, just a note: I recently discovered the command "/maxinactivefps" (followed by a number 0-999) that reduces the fps of CoX when it's not in the foreground, which should help performance. It's useful for me, since I have 2 monitors, and often do stuff outside the CoX window, but it should also be useful to you if you plan on dual boxing.
I put my number to 5, I can definitely see the difference in framerate when I'm working on the internet on one monitor, with CoX in the "background" of the other. I haven't noticed what it does to performance, but I'm sure it helps. -
Quote:"Explosive FinaleI did get a badge after I failed to exit in time. I don't remember the name of the badge (can't check at the moment) but I think the badge title was something about being blown up, so I believe it may have been result-specific (meaning I assume that I would have gotten a different badge had I got out in time). I could be wrong, though, so don't quote me on this.
Protean thought he could put an end to you by blowing you up - you proved him wrong."
Is that the badge? If so, that's the one you get for completing successfully. -
There's a relatively limited amount of things that can be used for objectives: interact with a glowie (defend, destroy, or click), rescue/capture someone, and defeat enemies. I could be wrong, but as far as I know those are the three types of mission objectives allowed to us.
When I said this, I was referencing someone else who said "the mission objectives are the same thing dressed in different cloths." I for one enjoy the creative ways that said "cloths" are being used, but we are still limited to certain types of fabric. Presumably, a new engine would expand the types of fabric people could use. I don't know how, or what else people would want or think of as objectives, but that's not for me to figure out. -
I've most all of these, except for the Sky Raider berating his team, and the "good" variation of the stranded woman trap.
The first time I saw the injured Freakshow, I actually went up to them, wondering what was going on. Then they attacked me.
I did see a group of Freakshow and a Warrior in Talos running around, for absolutely no reason... I had one of the group targeted from outside of agro range, turned around to look for something else, looked back and they were gone! They'd run down the street a little ways. I followed them, they ran to another spot down the street, chilled for a moment, then ran back to their original spot. It was really weird, and probably some sort of bug. -
That's what I'm wondering. There is also a badge for this mission, is it still awarded if you "fail" and don't make it in time?

A PvP tutorial is a good idea, except that it would actually require people to administer. Every once in a while you'll find people putting on training sessions, or just hanging out helping new PvPers out, but really, the only way to get actual PvP experience without 24/7 volunteers is to just jump in.
Any tutorial the devs made like the PvE tutorial wouldn't have other players to fight, and wouldn't prepare anyone for anything. -
Quote:I mean, earlier in this thread, someone was asking why there are female CW, and so maybe the whole "nasty when they want to be" is what GG is getting at... but in context, that was clearly in reference to their offensive capabilities; i.e., if you step out of line, they will shoot/zap/pummel you back into line.I think i'm in the camp that nothing sounded unusual, her tone, inflection, none of it stood out to mean anything beyond the words being said to me.
Unless there was something in the "something else" tone of voice, implying that they're not robots at all... which would mean they're another type of living being, and also have to reproduce some way... -
Quote:"They're very nasty when they want to be" or "they're 100% loyal to emperor Cole" or "Praetorian CW; they're somethin' else"? None sound unusual at all, in context.Listen to her description of them from 5:25 onwards - and the last thing she says about them - it's hard to describe, but the way she says it just sounds...unusual:

Although, as she's the easter egg queen, so I'm kinda listening for secret hints in most things that she says -
No no no - innocent bystanders. There's a difference. Maybe.
Quote:I don't get it when people make statements like that. I think the graphics in CO are awesome, and it runs better on my old pc than CoX does as it is right now. I'm not sure I'll be able to play GR, CoV and the addition of Ultra Mode already lag me.
I threw some pics up on a Facebook page, those really offend your senses? How so?
Also, interestingly enough, whatever happened to CoX has made my machine run basically the same as before - but with better graphics. I don't know if it's the fact that I finally updated my drivers, or what, but CoX is better than before for me.
That was no fix! Anyways, I'm sure that a CoH 2 would not be lacking for costume parts, at all. I also note that you only address costumes in the reply I quoted, when it seemed to me that the person you quoted was saying that without a new engine, CoX can't have different sorts of mission objectives (although the new arcs with I17 show that you can do some pretty nice stuff with what is there) or things like player on player interaction, etc. -
When I said that, I meant a spike in the dollar amount, as seen in the graph earlier in this thread. I wasn't talking about population at all.
-
That's exactly what I thought.
Well, if you're looking to do AE missions only for the XP, that may be the issue. In my opinion, the main purpose was to let players share their own ideas and content with other players. It's basically officially sanctioned fan fiction. -
I just did the 4 new I17 contacts through Ouro on two of my 50s. On both sides, I would use the crystal, and teleport to the contact. If I did not actually click on the contact, and went about doing my missions, the first time I returned to the contact and clicked on him/her, it would give me the initial contact dialog before debriefing/talking to me. I'm not sure if this is just an Ouro thing, or just these 4. It was cool in that I got to see the dialogue that I had missed because I selected the mission through Ouroborous, but it was annoying in that I was supposed to be getting something else.

I have noticed that when you are in an airborne battle with Eagles, and Air Superiority them, they go to the nearest high level thing, rather than going straight down. And they never stop flying.

Quote:CoH 2: The Coming Storm! Here's a thought; CoH 2 could be CoH but set 10, twenty years in its future. CoH is full of plotlines that they can't really advance very easily without basically uprooting and rewriting half the game. CoH 2 could have, say, the Rikti at peace with humanity, some new threat taking their place as the Big "Alien" Threat, perhaps with the Rikti allied against them. Arachnos could be broken up into outright warring factions under each Patron, or new patrons (Why are all those Arachnos buildings chrome colored and not black? Why, that's the Silver Mantis faction!) They could keep all the lore, but would have the room to build on it or change things drastically.

Quote:It doesn't look like anyone's addressed the HUGE spike in Q4 of '05. What came out right about that time? City of Villains. I'd say GR is going to be pretty major.GoRo is going to be a major revenue driver, but the real question is "how major"?
Except that people in CoH/V are going to be able to play side switching arcs while they're in the 20-50 range... that's what I would call content. -
It's just a good, solid pizza. Why don't you like it? I mean, if you're a New York pizza snob, you probably won't like any national chain. Of course, local pizza always trumps national chains. I think that may be a rule.

I don't know the exact dialogue from the SNL skits, but when Dean was talking about "champagne" it made me think of Christopher Walken... if someone actually remembers more from those skits, and goes through the mission, I'd be interested to learn how similar they are (it probably won't go much farther than a superficial similarity, but still).

I got what you're saying. The letter mentions the helmet, and says that they both have a "similar look" in the outfit... doesn't say he actually put the helmet on, so you may be right.
