It boils down to that the Mac version of this game isn't a Mac version of this game but the Windows version wrapped in an OS emulation layer from Transgaming. Now if Transgaming can't officially support it any longer due to Apple not supporting 10.5 any longer, then there isn't a whole lot that Paragon Studios can do.
It's like when they dropped support for Windows 98SE and ME but at least this time they are a bit more up front about it.
As for the timing, it's a case of waiting for Transgaming to get the official word from Apple that no help is coming. It's not like Apple has an active relationship with a lot of mainstream gaming companies and native ports to the Mac are few and rarely mainstream or in sync with a PC or console release. -
I would be a character that's a cross between Fred MacMurray's absent-minded professor and Doc Brown.
I would have discovered/invented something that could shake today's society to it's very core. The kind of thing that upsets several powerful political/corporate entities that would start my life very complicated.
I would have a couple of close confidants and a potential love interest join me to out think and out maneuver the forces rising against me, using my discovery/invention to stay just one step ahead of them. -
Well between this and the fact that it's looking less and less likely that the Higgs Boson exists it looks as if our understanding of both the very small and very large is off.

Finally saw this myself last night.
Seriously, it's tough to grasp the strategy of someone who can time travel and lies. Nothing is at face value and nothing is guaranteed to be in temporal order from the viewers point of view.
I'm pretty sure the ganger Doctor is involved in someway. Makes me wonder if the Doctor who's almost killed by River is actually the ganger and River's sacrifice charged him with the energy that got dissipated when the Doctor was killed at the start of the season.
Trying to figure this out ahead of time is like going through the maze in Colossal Cave. -
Interesting. I'll watch it again to see how they'll handle a regular production schedule.
Not as mystical as Second Edition or as Sci-Fi as Journeyman, two other shows that dealt with preemptive intervention of events. -
Noticed that after I posted and decided to route around at the store.
So 400 points for 5 capes and 80 point each for 10 auras. $15 now for a $10 pack then. $16 if you but the capes separately. -
It's AnimeWarrior252, his opening move is always nerdrage-filled rants. I think it's a defense mechanism or possibly a method to mark his territory.
Probably developed from posting on a more hostile board. -
He's only 53. Probably doesn't want to be tied down to a TV role, limiting his availability for movies.
-
I posted over at his other thread in Player Questions. His NewEgg links are better there.
-
There's been several threads over the past week mentioning that it's missing. Haven't heard if anyone found it yet. /bug it and maybe it'll turn up.

I wouldn't worry about more memory right now. 4GB of DDR3-1333 is plenty plus the likelihood that the BIOS is smart enough to run DDR3-1600 at 1600MHz isn't great for a name brand store PC. Better to take that money and plow it into the video card's budget.
For reference, this is the spec off of Acer site.
I'm OK with the PSU, it's standard size so you shouldn't have fit issues. The included PSU is only 300 watts with maybe half available at 12 volts.
If you up the video card budget to the $120 range or so you can get either an HD 6770 or GTS 450 which is considerably faster than that GT 240 DDR3 you listed. The AMD card is generally faster in games than the nVidia one but with the various AMD driver problems with this game (Driver 11.4 seems the most stable but your mileage may vary), I'm currently leaning toward nVidia for graphics. -
Quote:Which means you can now e-mail influence/infamy (aka money) as well as items to other characters or to yourself to be claimed by any other of your characters. And items as an attachment in the inbox can only be claimed once, ever, too.
Check ParagonWiki under the topic of e-mail for the steps involved. -
Exactly. There are several threads about buying a costume pack associated with a previous booster and finding out it didn't include something they wanted, cape, aura, emote, power that came with the booster but now is sold separately.
The Origin Pack seems to be a real sore point since it was just capes and auras which of course is split into two packs at the store. -
Yea, Tier 9 is really two tiers, regular and VIP. If you subscribe you can slot the VIP Tier 9 as well as the regular Tier 9 (FROM OUTER SPACE).
Sorry, had to be said. -
Well the old tutorial may be boring but for first timers it provided a lot of information in a slow methodical, take your time and read what's being said, way. Slow and boring but informative.
The new tutorial is shear chaos followed by a half a dozen pop help topics that don't really give you a hands on feel of the subject matter. -
ServerGuy? Haven't seen him around before ... or much.
Now I can't help thinking about silly IT ads with super heroes. -
You spent all that time trying to get a freaking patcher to work for Linux that you forgot about downloading the "new" Launcher?
I know you detest .net and BITS and IE's bits for HTML but really, you never even tried it? -
It's better to announce 12 hours and get done early than announce 8 hours but take 12. I take the increase in time as an example that they are starting to estimate better.
So they've had a bit over a week to see where things are gumming up the works and where maybe more hardware firepower is needed. I still think there should be another week or two worth of patches needed before opening the flood gates but that's going to be NCSoft's call as much as Paragon Studios to when they open the doors. -
Warehouse 13
Glasses belonged to the inventor of the thermostat, don't remember the name.
The dog came from the episode where the got the doorknob that burns people. Claudia and Jynx got it and then it was stolen. The only witness was the dog, Fezes followed and now Artie is bonded with it (as dogs own humans).
Claudia needed someone to bond with, no friends other than coworkers, no family nearby, Artie may be a father figure but she was looking to bond with someone closer to her age and that left Jynx as Pete and Myka are probably a half a generation older than her. Plus he's her partner. Does anybody else not trust indy rock guy?
As for the artifact, read up on the Donner Party.
Eureka
Of course something steps in between Jack and Allison. Something always disrupts their happiness.
Jo leaving town. Okay I can accept that she needs to comes to grips with the whole Zane Prime/New Zane. Of all of the accidental time travelers, her life was the most affected (Henry older and call roll with it better since it's his 2nd trip). Different job, no Zane, no house, she needed some perspective on things. Of course leaving as she did before the launch means she has no idea that the flight got hijacked.
Poor Vince but I'm sure someone in Eureka has a store in a box or a MegaTokyo style reconstruction company to return things back to normal quickly.
Senator SG:U seemed awful keen that the flight leaves on time and I don't think it was because the Prez was coming to watch the launch. The question then becomes was the hijacking nefarious or was a even higher level of secrecy needed? Did someone else spot "something" that needed investigating ala Rana/Gateway/Eon or was there an incoming asteroid that needed swatting? Maybe it's a mass kidnapping?
Haven't watched Alphas yet. -
Some people have griped for a long time how they can't use capes and auras until level 20 and 30. Now the game offers that for a one time fee (for each). It's not that greedy.
Greedy is breaking the various boosters and packs into so many different parts that you are bound to not get that "thing" you actually wanted.
Just saying. -
It also deletes the downloaded patch file (.ncpatch) upon completion.
-
Easiest way, delete all .ncpatch files before launching game. That said having the launcher to a verify/repair after a patch is simply good practice and really only takes a minute or two.
-
Have you tried posting a CohHelper and HijackThis report so we don't simply toss out ideas blindly?
-
I think what they did was very clever. A lot of gamers like to solve puzzles. Some like solving spacial puzzles (see Portal). Some like working on physical spacial puzzles (see Rubik's Cube).
Foldit simply uses the rules of protean folding as the basis of a game. Same way some of those bridge building games use the rules of physics/mechanics as a basis. The fact they made a "level" out of a real world problem is great. But this doesn't raise the person or team who "solved" it better than the scientists who worked on the problem before them nor does it make scientists obsolete. -
What we need is to have these fly poses part of the power customization in addition to being an emote. This would make one of those fly poses our fly default pose but allow us to switch "on the fly".
