  1. I've been seeing the big cardboard cutout for that at local theaters for months now.

Still waiting for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
  2. You are implying what, Jesse James is a neo-nazi? Or are you just lumping in all tattooed bikers in that generalization?
  3. I remember seeing the miniseries Longitude on A&E about John Harrison, back when A&E showed shows like that instead of Storage Wars and Dog the Bounty Hunter. The book the series was based on played up the antagonistic nature between Harrison and the Royal Astronomer Nevil Maskelyne who had his own method.

    Comic Book Men

1/2 Pawn Stars, 1/2 video pod cast. Actually preferred the pod cast portion of the show over the "what can I get for this?" portion of the show. The contest was outrageously stupid.

On the other hand History has Full Metal Jousting on at the same time, 10p EDT. Watch macho men get smacked off of horses.
  5. Seems to be a big hit at the Berlin Film Festival.

    Please Help!

I put my attacks on the 1st bar, toggles on the 3rd and heals and buff/debuffs on the 2nd bar. Movement powers are hot keyed.
  7. Personally I would like to see MORE knockback. First it's a great soft mez. Second I think all powers that do smashing damage should do knockback if that attack defeated the target or if the amount of damage done is a significant percentage of the target's hit points.

As for knockback affecting me? All's fair baby but we do have ways to counter it.
  8. Well GL did well enough to have a sequel in the works, same with the "new" Superman and I don't think anyone would classify the last two Batman movies as flops.

Did I miss DCU closing down? They may have had unrealistic ideas to it's success but it's still alive and kicking.

Their animated series have consistently successful. The hardcore Batman fans may have poo-pooed Brave and the Bold but it honestly represented the comic book series from that time. Young Justice is fantastic and next week the Timm styled CGI Green Lantern starts up in earest on CN.

Yes it's not the heyday of comics during the 90s. The manga bubble burst as well. Not sure how prevalent pirate scans of western comics are and if it damaging existing sales.

DC isn't dieing except in the eyes of the hardcore fanatic who innately reject the movies, animated series and other attempts to expand the audience to those who can't recite minutia.

That said Kevin Smith's new series "Comic Book Men" is on tonight on A&E right after "The Walking Dead".
  9. All times EST on A&E

    9p - Walking Dead - Nebraska
    10:01 - Comic Book Men
    11:01p - Walking Dead - Nebraska
Midnight - Talking Dead (Yea!, thought they canceled it)
    12:30p - Walking Dead - Nebraska
    1:30a - Taking Dead
    2a - Comic Book Men

And if you like zombies for breakfast...
    5a - Walking Dead - Nebraska

  10. RIP Whitney, gone too early.
  11. He didn't say that. If both players who had a leveling pact before Freedom, and never went off subscription, then you should still have it after Freedom. However after Freedom, if either of you go off subscription, it's broken.

After Freedom, there isn't an option to make a pact.
  12. Agreed, not a bad single (realistically single) video card motherboard. Yes it has two full length PCIe x16 slots but only one is actually an x16 slot while the other is x4. CrossfireX can handle that kind of configuration, sort of, not as good as two x8 slots.
  13. It's weird seeing red names as thread starter or latest post on the forum page. Bolded names on that page is also odd looking.
  14. And they say Germans don't have a sense of humor.
  15. Actually it won't save anything on his power bill, unless that PSU is really inefficient. It's not like it's producing 1000 watts all the time. With those parts, maybe 400 watts top with an overclocked CPU. Add a 2nd 560Ti and then we're talking 600 watts maybe. Add a couple 100 watts for a buffer and we are talking 600-800 watts as a PSU size.

Yes it's serious overkill. There was a review at VR-Zone of an overclocked i7-3960X at 4.8GHz running four overclocked HD 7970s and that topped out at just below 1000 watts AC (so somewhere between 800-900 watts DC) running Battlefield 3 at 5760x1080 at over 100FPS. So yeah, overkill.
  16. Yes, yes I know but I grew to fancy her as a redhead in all the films I saw her in.
  17. Not with an 8400GS. nVidia stopped making AGP cards with the 7000 series.

    The River

I thought it was interesting. Sure, I knew going in it would be crammed pack of glimpses of things not meant to be seen by those in the midst of it. It's a mix of Blair Witch (shaky cam) and Paranormal Activity (fixed cam) BOO! style of scary.

Little touches like the hand coming out of the puddle for a moment, the doll tree, the possessed daughter via dragonfly reminded me of an anime series I enjoyed called Ghost Hunt.

The one thing I really didn't like was the German security guy being part of a conspiracy about "the source"? No need to mess up a series about "magic", mysticism and spirits with a conspiracy (unless it's the Thule Society and Nazis).

Since it's a short run series I'll give it a go. Not much else on Tuesday's anyways.
  19. The CPU is definitely overkill. And while it's true that quad channel memory provides twice the bandwidth of the dual channel memory in the standard Sandy Bridge CPUs, the larger memory cache size in the Sandy Bridge EX CPU would limit this advantage some. Also the cache in the Sandy Bridge EX is slower than the standard Sandy Bridge which also blunts the advantage even more.

Alienware has some cool ideas with their yet to be released ultrathin gaming laptop but their desktops are overpriced as you are simply paying for a name that once, a long time ago, meant something to gamers.

I don't consider Dell bad, just mundane. That Alienware model does come with a decent 875 watt PSU, great for multiple video card support, overkill for one. Oh, and it is liquid cooled standard, unlike what Hyperstrike guessed. Check out the review and internal pictures from Hexus.
  20. There was an Athlon 64 3200+ for Socket 754 (singe channel memory bus) which would put a kibosh on the whole upgrade to an Athlon 64 X2 (all of which are Socket 939 or AM2).

So Shayla, check out the sticky over on the Tech board by Hyperstrike about posting a CoHHelper report, to tell us more about your hardware. A HiJack This report will tell us what is running on your system.

    Chronicle

Finally got around to seeing this. Good film overall but short. There was a lot of time that passed from when they first got their power and the end, six or more months I'm guessing.

Andrew likely withdrew due to his Father's accident and his Mother's illness. The camera allowed him to mentally remove himself completely from the world around him. While the powers made him feel special, the success at the talent show with the events of the after party was an unintentional Carrie moment that pushed him toward the edge.

I was initially surprised when I saw the movie cost only $12 million until I saw it was made in South Africa. Also noticed in the credits that a lot of secondary/tertiary voices were ADRed, probably to be more "American" sounding. The effects were done surprisingly well for the budget.
  22. Hate Emma Stone as a blonde.

Peter public persona is more emo loner than genius loner.

Definitely better than the FP-POV teaser trailer.

Connors seems to be more mad scientist than tragic scientist.
  23. Well one of mine ages very slow due to her mother's side of the family. Currently she is in her 50s yet has the looks of someone in her early 20s.

Other than that, I consider leveling to be a form of aging since I don't actively try to get to 50 ASAP, plus all the alts I have created. I also consider active playing time. I had shelved my teen Peacekeeper for years and in my mind's eye she's the exact same age since I last played her.
  24. Only if it's a shape shifting travel power like the Coyote, and then only if the associated sound effect while traveling sounds like Speed Buggy.
