  1. HP Netbook for those who don't want to click on the link.

I would lean toward the no or extremely poorly even at minimum settings.
  2. First, I've never heard of that power supply brand so I'm leaning toward the notion that it's a cheap and under powered where it counts.

Second. Win 7 RC1 stands for Windows 7, Release Candidate 1. Windows 7 is the next Windows Operating System from Microsoft after Vista and Release Candidate 1 means it's still beta but feature complete. This doesn't mean it's still not buggy as all get out and then there's the whole are there stable drivers for all your hardware with this new OS.

Also there are a few other differences between Vista Basic and Vista Premium than missing Aero.
  3. Makes sense, the door itself isn't generating any aggro or has a non-existent threat value.
  4. Size of PSU and amps/watts at +12 volts is important. The case is unimportant as long as the parts all fit and you have the front port connectors you are interested in.

    Vista Basic blows. Get Premium.

Way to be unhelpful. How will bugs be fixed in the OS if no one tries to run things in the pre-release? Do you think the copy of Vista or XP that you run was somehow magically perfect? I beta test ALL of MS' operating systems - so that YOU don't have to when you get it loaded on your Dell.

Well legitimately testing the OS is one thing, simply installing it because you had a problem with Vista, or too cheap to buy even an OEM copy of an OS and then wonder why nobody can help you with your beta OS running beta drivers with a game that has yet been approved for Vista, that's another story.

Microsoft short circuited the kind of volunteer tech support you will find on this forum by releasing Vista SP2 around the same time as Win 7 RC1 since the experienced professionals here know better than install an OS before its SP2 is released unless pushed by those higher up on the food chain who don't remember what happened last time everyone jumped in head first before knowing how deep the water is. So we are finally getting around to install Vista and Microsoft starts pushing out Windows 7.

    End game in CoX?

I'm at level 50 and I still have a ton of normal contact missions left, then going back and doing all the arcs I missed via Ouroboros, then there's a few GM badges to get as well as some X of Y badges. Then a few task forces and trials I missed but the trouble there is finding teams that won't speed run them simply for merits.

  11. Whoops, missed the follow up question.
  12. Edit: Oops, poor reading skills.
  13. Oh-boy. First so you and others can follow along, Gateway Support 702GE

On the bright side, you have a PCIex16 slot for modern video cards and it isn't a slimline case.

On the dark side, you have only a 300 watt power supply coupled to a power hungry Pentium 4 with HT, so not a lot of spare power left.

Darker side, it appears the power supply isn't held in place by the standard ATX retention mechanisms making a PSU upgrade non-trivial. I have no idea how easy it would be to adapt a standard size (and many modern PSUs are actually longer than standard to support a single large fan on the "top/bottom" as oppose to the back) to this case. The two unique aspects for this power supply and case is the power supply "hangs" from the top of the case via a tab in slot and then held there by a lever pushing the PSU toward the back of the case where it's screwed into the rear of the case with only three screws. Can't be sure if even the screw holes are in the right place for this case.

This will limit you a great deal in what video cards you can add to your system. A non-factory OC 9500GT may still end up drawing more power than you have available (the 9500GT is equivalent in performance to the previous generation 8600GT). Considering you are currently running graphics with an Intel GMA900, pretty much anything would be faster even a 9400GT (it's a bit faster than the 8500GT) which is rated for a 300 watt PSU.

Also upping your system memory from 1 to 2 GB will help smoothing out performance by significantly reducing the use of the swap file while traveling through zones.

Because Pocket D is too small for a building?
  15. No, both characters must be online to invite into a SG. And since trial accounts can't join SGs you can't dual box and use a temp account as a bridge to invite.
  16. Once you pull them away from the mob and lose interest in you, you can walk right past them. Dumb as bricks. However tick them off as a group, they'll cause you a world of pain between the projectile and melee vomit attacks.

But if they're doing this for a U.S. game, made in the U.S. and owned by the U.S.

    [/ QUOTE ]
While the game was made by a U.S. company it is now fully owned by NCSoft which is Korean.
  18. The problem with that strategy Eek, the 20B combined bid, is you will lose 18B when you cancel the bid because you can only hold 2B. What's the point of saving more if you simply lose the bulk of it when you try to access it?

Talk about substantial penalty for early withdraw.

    Epic AT Bug

It appears low on their priority list since this has been around for a year or two, if not longer.
  20. No I didn't listen to the stock holder meeting, I find that most of those simply reiterate what is in the official release. Answers to questions are usually, at least with US companies, simply refer the questioner back to the official release so no extra insight is provided only to investers listening to the call.

Of course Lineage I and II and Aion would be the thrust of that call and of their press release. The Lineage series is their bread and butter, representing nearly 80% of their income before Aion came out. Now Aion is a big of a hit as either Lineage I or II and that's just with the Korean servers. Now when it arrives in North America later this year, the question becomes will it do better here than Lineage? The last report that had numbers (3Q08) showed Lineage II in NA/EU having only half the numbers that CoH/V had.

And sorry, your first post here was a legitimate question. Your next question started to lean to the usual DOOM posts that such a thread attracts. I guess Mrs_OHSA and Forbin cast the first stones and pushed this thread into yet another rehash of the MA/ban/oops material.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Since CS can do nothing to change policy explain how that works? I lost no toon and got no ban I have no need for customer service. I merely think that a change in policy would better this game however this player section has the most closed minded people who don't bother to read posts. Not arguing that i have free speech here Laxx wants to say it applies only to the government i looked it up and the definition says different. Did not anywhere in that post say it applied to these forums. I also knowingly accept my punishment for violating the EULA.

    [/ QUOTE ]
See, this is where I have a problem with you Philly, see this thread was started innocently enough asking about subscription numbers and since the numbers are no longer being made available for any NCSoft game including their bread and butter Lineage series (and looking back at NCSoft's quarterly and annual reports it looks that they never really reported number of subscriptions, just maximum concurrent users and total number of unique accounts that logged on during that quarter) I came up with a guesstimate. Now instead of turning into the usual DOOM thread about subscription numbers you popped in with the intention of getting this thread locked or deleted while your "heroically" martyr yourself in the name of truth, taking down innocent threads in the process.

Now I spent a while last night catching up on the last couple hundred posts in the MA 2 thread so I now understand the ire that many people feel. However if you know that the mods are locking and deleting threads about that topic, as per their mandate according to the forum rules from day 1 of the forum, thread jacking to "spread the word" before those threads too are deleted is a bit disingenuous to OPs with legitimate questions. A simple link to the first post about the level pact screw-up in the now locked MA 2 thread should be enough to spread the word without it turning into yet another debate how it's the devs fault that people shot themselves because they they left a box of loaded guns in the room with "do not touch" written on the side.

Am I upset with what seemed to have happened, now that I know about it. Yes, it's a screw up of monumental size, much like the low NYC flyover of AF1 simply to update some file photos. The problem is while the ability to send out mass 3 day bans and resetting characters to 0 XP is an easy and automatic process, recovering character data is not. The CS staff isn't large enough to handle the influx of wronged players and the data recovery infrastructure for recovering player data isn't either. The bans are over regardless and the wronged are being handled, slowly.

But going around to other threads, especially in the Player Questions area and thread jacking them with the hope it'll get deleted is simply wrong.
  22. I have a friend who played it on the new Mac mini, of course he also cracked it open with a pair of putty knifes and doubled the memory and swapped in a 7200RPM hard drive.
  23. PvP is a lot like going down to the public tennis courts looking for a friendly match and finding out that the only people there to play with are Rodger Federer, Andy Roddick and the Williams sisters. A couple of matches against any of them and you'll swear off tennis as a sport.

Between the initial roll out of PvP in Issue 4 to the major restructuring of PvP in Issue 13, only the diehard PvPers played as most novices were quickly put off by how differently powers act in PvP to bad experiences with PvP griefers and now rarely if ever venture into a PvP zone except to get the bonus attack powers.

By trying to make PvP more attractive to the run of the mill player, the changes in I13 enraged many PvP regulars who spent untold hours grinding for "gear", min/maxing their PvP character to pre-I13 gameplay. Many claim they gave up PvP after these changes since all the time spent on getting their character to that point was rendered moot.
  24. Most of Rosewill's PSUs are utter crap and you get what you pay for.
