Super Group question

I've been making a few characters lately, and I want to put them all in my own supergroup (basically, a group just of my own characters, at least for now).

Is there a way for me to invite and promote my own characters, or am I forced to recruit someone so they can invite each character one at a time?

If there's not, I suggest such a mechanism be created... Say, invitation by ingame email...?

No, both characters must be online to invite into a SG. And since trial accounts can't join SGs you can't dual box and use a temp account as a bridge to invite.

Unfortunately NO The only way to do what you are looking for is to get some help from someone.. have them join your new SG just long enough to invite your new character. Same goes for promotion.. If you want a character to be anything higher than a level one (recruit) you need another player to do that WHILE the character in question is on line.

At present as far as I know there is no plan to change this and it can be annoying. I have a new member in my SG that has been doing a bang up job earning prestige etc and wanted to promote him. I am East Coast of the USA and he's in Italu.. met him on a day when I had no plans and was onine during the day. It took more than a week to finally be on line together so I could promote him.

The request for changes to that have been made numerous times but as far as I know there has been no progress.

The plan I used ultimo old chum is this

1.) Set your main as rank 6 when you start
2.) Set all bins to 5 star clearance and all editing funtions to 5 star. Leave invites to 1 star level
3.) pay some lowbie a goodly sum of cash (20k per toon, is what i did)
4.) invite them at 1 star
5.) log and get them to invite your toons
6.) once done, pay them and then kick them and anyone you dont recognize on your list
7.) Change permissions to 1 star so all your toons can do base stuff

It's a pain, but if you do all your toons at once not so bad.

I would make bin permission superleader only and invite the accomplice to the leader 5 star level. The accomplice would then invite my alts and promote them all to 5 star level. Then, when the accomplice is paid and kicked, change bin permissions to 5 stars. This allows you to invite others at levels 1 - 4 with various permissions without giving them bin permission yet.

Hm. This is a niusance.

I hope the devs will change this, at least to let us promote or demote people that aren't online!

Well like many suggestions this is one of those ones that people have been asking about for years now. It's just as good as it has ever been and just as up in the air as to whether it'll ever happen or not. *shrugs*

I actually play across many servers, but there are two groups of characters I wanted to assemble into private SGs, on Justice (my Justice League homages) and Infinity (I think, my Avengers homages).

Just broadcast that you are looking for help inviting alts to your solo SG. Someone will usually offer to help within minutes. It's nice to throw in a tip, but not required.

I did this just recently. I created a number of characters on every server and then invited them to my multi-server character's SG on every server with help from random players on each server. I just asked nicely for help and I got it. And this was on villainside.

The community in this game is the best of any game I've played. There is always someone willing to help those in need. You gotta love that.

And since we have a good community there really is no immediate need for an offline SG invite/promote/demote capability, which is why it's something that will always be on the "back burner". This is after all a MMOrpg. That's not to say you can't form a solo SG, but you can enlist community help with creating it.

I can help you out on Infinity if you want me to.

I was just going to do Base Maintenance tonight anyway.

Global @AdAstra.

EDIT - I just remembered an infrequently played alt on Justice blueside if you want me to help there as well.

Ya, that's what I did with the ersatz Avengers, but there's just three of them (for now). The Justice Leaguers are more numerous...

It's just an annoyance.

That works too, probably better in fact.

I'm all for the ability to invite yourself to a solo SG, but please, don't encourage the Devs to allow "Join my SG" solicitations through the in-game e-mail system. *shudder*
