Prices from 250,000,000 to 400,000,000 on Purple sets, and certain Procs are absolutely outrageous.

    Respec Recipe 200,000,000?

Normal players of this game can not come close to affording these prices. Are you trying to force them to the Spam Sites?

Are you a source of Influence/Infamy for the Spam Sites?

    What gives?

I have several 50's and have enjoyed playing them, and IO'ing them.

I just created a new toon, and at your current Market Pricing, she'll never get IO'd out.

You think peeps will keep playing when they can't IO their toons?

    Whats up with this?
Aside from purples and pvp recipes you simply dont need the market. For the most part its just there for the marketeer's amusement. I havent used the market in ages because things have gotten so bad. Just farm merits if you want recipes, create an AE arc tailored to your powerset if you want salvage. Thats pretty much what I do and I come out some what ok. As for as respec recipes go, with all the free respecs we have gotten I cant see why anyone needs a respec so badly these days, not to mention we still got the respec trials that can be done.
  2. There are just as many "natural" or "non-super powered" super heroes/villians as there are Super powered heroes/villains. It would be crazy to ignore this fact.
  3. After the recent dom changes practically every dom build is great at soloing. I know for my mind/nrg dom he simply cant die solo unless its something like an av or elite boss. I been wanting to get him to 50 for the longest but I cant seem to put down Aion long enough to level anything in CoX these days.

I have a ton of respect for his game design acumen. The game has improved tremendously while he's been the head designer, and I am confident that GR is going to be awesome.

That said, his stated reason for not merging the markets is indefensible. And what's worse, it seems like his blind spot is causing a complex and awkward market mechanic to be implemented in GR. Beyond wasting programmer resources to prop up a bad idea, it just bothers me when an otherwise bright guy clings to a position that should be abandoned.
I feel that the whole thing is being done for RP reasons more so than one faction makes more money than the other. They are just saying its money. It just goes back to the whole thing when villains wanted empathy but they refused to give them what they wanted despite them knowning ahead of time they were going to do a going rouge. They choose to give them a poor substitute with pain domination instead. So by their definition of what empathy is no one who picks the empathy powerset as primary or secondary should be allowed to become a villain. It just boogles the mind why they do this kind of stuff making double work for themselves. I strongly believe the market will get merged sometime after going rouge when they see how barren villainside becomes from levels 1-49.
  5. It will happen once they realize that almost everyone who is levels 1-49 will move to blueside just to IO out then they will realize where their mistake was in this. They seem to think they can predict player behavior when they are actually so far from whats really going to happen. Personally I see this as the death of redside when going rouge hits. You might have a few that are just masochist that dont want to move but for the most part it will be deserted unless they finally make the content equal on both sides of the game. Personally thats where I see the devs made their mistake with redside, both games are just not equal in terms of content and zones. Making both equal goes a long way in equalizing the game.
  6. This is what they get in Aion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-qsx5tPZ3o If only we could do this.

I agree here. You havent played a "Real" mastermind until you play ninja/poison to 50. Everything else is just plain old easy mode.
  9. The speed it gives is awsome which is why I love this pack overall. I can definately see skipping other travel powers especially if I choose a powerset with quickness in it.
  10. All thats left is for BaBs to change the animiations on the ninja mastermind pets to use this if the owner of the pets bought the pack. Then we can ninja clans.
  11. so it is usuable with sprint? Thats great then I thought it turned off all movement powers like the way granite does.

Nope. And you're not the only one who'd drop regular travel powers if this was better and/or slottable. I'm sure the devs are sensitive to the folks who complain about not wanting to feel forced into having to do microtransactions in order to have a strong character. Hence the high end cost, incompatibility with CJ, no Def bonus, and inability to slot.
I was wanting it to be slotted because we need a natural alternative to super speed and other travel powers that isnt dog slow unless your super reflexes. I hope castle does considering lowering the end cost on this if its not going to be slottable

Is the ninja run slottable? This would be the ultimate super reflexes toon. I could finally drop super speed for that totally natural character.
  14. With all these changes to the walk power it seems like its more trouble than its worth. Now I can see why they didnt want to put it in.
  15. Just be lucky you have it at all. I remember when this epic phail of a set first came out for brutes. We had to beg the devs to change it because they always want to give stupid penalties for anyone who gets psionic resistance or a second build up. Grounded is more than enough if you watch what you are fighting you will be fine.

I wanted to add this where that nice little option of I want to fight bosses when solo on a team set to 8 comes in nicely. But again this is going to be where you have to make a few choices. Is it better to fight more bosses that take longer to kill but have a higher chance to drop purples and a chance at a pool c or d recipe or to kill only luitenents/minions that you can go thru faster that will give you more drop opportunities in a shorter amount of time just for purples. Personally I been waiting to see if someone has done the math on this to see which method is going to be better for a standard non-AE farm.

Yes it should be easy. They have professional writters already, so coming up with the story shouldnt be the hardest part for them. Setting up the missions would be, but since they get better tools than we get in the AE, I dont see what the problem is. I created a few arcs myself for testing purposes and challenge to see how long my tanks can last. I know how long it takes to create an arc so there is no reason why someone who has better tools should not be able to create better content faster. They could have someone create an arc a day or even every few days and we wouldnt feel so content starved as we are now. Hell even if it was just more dev missions put in the AE that would be better than what we have now.

If they did awsome work before then why didnt they continue to do that? The past 6 issues have been phail because I know they can do better. I am not saying issues 1-10 have been perfect either but its more dev worthy content than the past 6 have been. Thats what I am saying. If you all want to keep the standards that the devs have so low then all it does is open up more room for the competition (provided we get some I dont count CO) to move in and steal players. For the record am I saying what I am saying not because of the Massively article because I know those things are biased but because the devs need to know this, we all know you can do better. I have a ton of friends who left CoX for Aion because there was flatout nothing worth playing in CoX. At least now there might be a chance they will come back but only if GR is content heavy.

Garbage in terms of dev content. AE doesnt count, 99% of those arcs are crap and you know it. Reused powers ported to different ATs is not content, recolored powers are not content. Cimerora was no where near big enough and the arcs too small and too few. And dont get me started on that epic phail of the M.Bison TF that we got. We flatout told them that TF wasnt dev worthy from a story standpoint yet they didnt change it much. So yeah the past 6 issues were garbage.

I find this comment particularly amusing

If that's from one of you guys, I'm flattered...but really? You trust me, an animator/VFX artist or Castle, a power designer, over a NCSoft exec who actually knows what they're talking about? Why...because we're chatty here on the forums? Posi I could understand, cause theoretically he'd be the most 'in-the-know'. I would have thought that announcing a long overdue, genuine expansion pack for CoH/CoV could only be viewed as a positive thing for our game. How did someone manage to spin it into a sign of impending doom?

So many comments on NCSoft in relations to unsuccesful games. As someone who was working on Auto Assault when it launched, I've never felt that its failure was due to a lack of support from NCSoft. Quite the opposite, they let us push the launch date quite a ways back for a much needed overhaul and polish phase. Post launch, the game did not do well and rather than completely cut and run, NCSoft still supported the game long enough to try and turn things around. Alas, it just wasn't enough. The game simply failed on it's own merits...but it had more than a fair shot, imo.

I'm not trying to blow smoke up anyone's backside here, but we're doing pretty damn good for an MMO that's heading toward's its 6th birthday and we plan to be here for a while. There have been a lot of talented people who've helped shape this game over the years, and while there have been mis-steps here and there, we really are trying to make the right decisions for the overall benefit of the game that we're all so invested in. It's a tough gig, we've got a lot of hard work ahead of us, but I really do think that the best days are still to come and I hope you guys will stick around for the ride.
No offense BaBs but you guys do have alot riding on GR, more so than you realize. The past 6 issues have been garbage. Considering how easy it is for you guys to make missions (from just looking at how the AE is) there is no reason why we shouldnt have had *** loads of dev content post AE. I am looking forward to GR beta but only to know whether I am going to keep playing CoX or to just play Aion only. There are alot of glaring problems in CoX that have yet to be addressed and depending on if alot of that gets cleared up that will determine how well GR does.

To be honest this will be the first time in all my time being subscribed to CoX that I might actually end up quitting. I been thru all the statesman's vision for the game changes, all of castle's heavy handed nerfs, stood by as our game markets became a ceasepool of greed and corruption, and patiently waited out the lack of real content. Well at this point I am done waiting and hope what you guys are making is worth the wait.

So far I am not impressed based on the hero-con stuff and thats mostly due to not allowing you to choose any AT you want to start on any side at creation. Not everyone is going to want to go thru the GR arcs just to make a hero brute or stalker, or even a villain tanker. The other issue that I know is going to give you guys more grief in the long run is why you guys dont want to merge the hero/villain markets. Essentially what you are doing is going to kill 1 side of the game. These are just a few things that needed to be pointed out as some form of a wake up call. For some of us players yes this is CoX last chance.
  21. The reason I asked this is that I had to go back quite a few pages before I saw some claws/sr threads. I recently started back with this when I took a short break from aion. Even post nerf the claws are still awsome on brutes. So far at the early levels endurance isnt a problem unlike the other brute combinations. I know eventually I have to get stamina but at this rate I can just respec into at 20 or maybe later. My biggest concern over this set is the issues with "lol lethal damage" when you get higher up. I am hoping that the -res proc slotted in the claw debuffing power will make up the difference. The issue concern is what to do with follow up. I currently have brawl on autofire (very nice since it costs no end now) so I always have near max fury. Would follow up just get in the way of that since it gives less for it on brutes than for scrappers?

The thing is with Ouro even badge missions give merits and you dont have to deal with all those bullcrap missions they give you that have absolutely nothing to do with the arc. You pretty much can pick and choose and it goes so much faster this way. Plus if you have sg base with the candle in it that can speed up the travel time significantly.

Sad part is there are more RP reasons to merge it than to not merge it. Thats the part that really crazy. It wont be long till the market gets even more messed and they see the massive amount of players leave redside. They will have to fix it then.

Considering all the hair brained stuff dr. aeon has done, who is to say an accident couldnt happen. Come on guys thats just one way of explaining it. I am pretty sure someone else with more imagination could explain it better. Lets say you are a disgruntal SoA who is ticked off at how things are going and you want to get back at arachnos in your own way so you decide to go rogue. You decide to sabotage one of the portals they use and you accidently get sent to Praetoria. I would sooner say my explaination in this post is alot more believable than the SoA storyline where a person goes thru all that crap just to get on the destined one list. Think about it if SoA spiders are linked in a hive mind they would know what you are doing unless you terminate link. They would not continue to let you work for them knowing you werent under their control therefore the destine one storyline couldnt have happened, where as my explaination of going rogue could.

The thing is its going to create an even bigger mess than had they just merged them. Just give it time, people will ***** and moan as they always do and it gets changed. Look at past history, costume drops, merits, and tickets. Why wait and have to deal with an even bigger fall out when they can just do it at the start of GR.
