Mind/Energy - Good soloing Dom?

Exactly what the title of the thread asks.

I rolled a Mind/Energy Dominator and was wondering if she'd be a solid soloer. I don't have a whole lot of experience with Dominators, but I've played a number of blasters.

I'm pretty set on Mind Control for the primary, but less set on Energy as the secondary, so if there's a better secondary for soloing, please advise.

I'm far from an expert, but I have one that I've soloed to 29 and it's been a blast. I remember thinking at one point that I actually felt like a supervillian with all the tossing in the air, head clutching and knockback.

The first time I teamed with a couple people somewhere in my teens, one of them commented, "How is the Dom tanking?"

Typically solo, against 3 NPCs I confuse the first, dominate the second, and blast the third to pieces. Then clean up.

Others, I'm sure, can give you more specifics and numbers, but just from my experience it is one of the most fun combos I've played in this game.

All doms solo well...stuff that can't fight back is not that much of a threat. Though mind/ is on the lower damage scale, it makes up for it by giving the most control. With a good feel,good slotting, and time, the only way anything can attack you is (a) player messups, or (b) triangles of doom. Heck, mind can even counter (b) with mesmerize.

Mind/Energy is solid for solo play, particularly if you leave the number of enemies low on your difficulty as the AoE damage potential is pretty bad.

My personal preference is for something a bit less single target (Fire, Psi, Thorns or even Ice), but strangely my highest Mind Control is /Elec which is nearly as single target as /Energy.

Have a level 50 Mind/Energy here..and yes I can vouch an amazing toon. Even before the dom buffs..she could solo on medium difficulty without much trouble. Now shes a monster..and shes non-permadom, mostly SO's and generic IO's. I find perma dom isn't really needed...most things are slept, held, confused, or dead.

Levitate and hold is a great way to juggle bosses...then jumping in and smacking the heck out of em with total focus. Confuse their nearby cronies..and play whack-a-mole until everything is dead. Hmmmm...maybe I need to log-in and that toon a bit before bid...getting an itchy trigger finger!

Just gonna echo what others are saying, mind/nrg is an amazing combo solo and in teams. Do it, perma dom it and love life.

Agreed, I just started a Mind/Energy, and it's the best Solo Dom I've played. I have experimented with many of them, but this one just seems to be able to handle anything she fights. An all around good choice.

Coupled with the fact that Mind/Energy can completely render an AV helpless with the right Perma Build...

Go figure.

After the recent dom changes practically every dom build is great at soloing. I know for my mind/nrg dom he simply cant die solo unless its something like an av or elite boss. I been wanting to get him to 50 for the longest but I cant seem to put down Aion long enough to level anything in CoX these days.
