Quote:Time was reduced (not nerfed because it wasn't live yet) in beta by a fair amount. I think it's now up there with the heavy hitters among the buff/debuff sets, but it doesn't surpass them. This makes me curious about the dreaded 'n' word. No not that one.
So, with these new sets, what happens if they do turn out to be OP'd. Would the Dev's nerf them down like before now that they are being purchased individually? I would hope so, for overall balance reasons. I can just see a huge fallout compared to the normal deal, if everyone can post. -
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the game again Sam.

Quote:You are correct sir.I seem to recall a dev post that said Scrapper version does taunt and the original was a typo.

Quote:That's weird, I changed my PW entirely (it was time) and it works for the game and the forums. This morning I could log into the game no worries but the forums were playing up.
The first time I changed the password this evening it was to the exact same thing as it was originally. That let me into the forums.
The game then refused to let me in. So I changed it to something completely different and copied/pasted it into the game. No dice. But the new password lets me into the forums (I logged out and then back in with the new password).
So far I've seen all of 5mins of Issue 21. It's not going well... -
Glad this helped a lot of folks.
As a few people have stated, if you've run out of login attempts, give it some time before trying even after changing your password. -
I really think most folks overreacted on this. Standard issue farming is probably going to be fine.

If you're still having problems logging in, it might work to log into your NCSoft master account and change the password for your game account. This allowed me to log back in no problem.

Quote:Street Justice. Not buying anything else until that. After that it will be enhancement slots.I know there are a bunch of us who can't log into the boards, but they can speak up later.
What are you going to buy in the market first? What is that one thing that you must have no matter what they have change the cost to?
I know I will grab at least one costume slot, but past that I will grab any new male costumes they have added. -

Quote:Yes. I am as well. But since the servers are not up, maybe it will sort itself out.Ok, so I have everything downloaded and ready to go and I know the servers are still offline to us but I can't even click on the VIP server. Its all the way at the bottom and every time I try to scroll down to click on it the list springs back to the top and I can't access it.
Anyone else having this problem? -
My BS/Regen doesn't age past 30. She's still a Assistant District Attorney/Crimefighter.
My Fire/Shield is an Efreet and immortal. She's still kicking butt and taking names for FREEDOM!
My Cold/Ice Defender is a witch and is just really being seen as an adult at the age of 59! She's still teaching Ice Magic and a member of the Midnight Squad. -
Only word from the devs is 'shortly' after Freedom goes live. Expect it in the store in the next two-three weeks is my bet.

Quote:No. That's this: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=112726Quite possibly the most successful troll post I had ever seen.
It surprises me that it lasted as long as it did.
May the prophet UniqueDragon always look over us. -
Quote:Defense and recharge like everybody else. The effect of +HP is not likely to be as helpful as +recharge which helps Dull Pain get perma which leads to many more +health than set bonuses do.This is so not true. Psi generally kills your recharge which generally kills your /Regen.
That being said I really love my Regen on Beta and I'll be rolling a SS/Regen when it goes live. How is a Regen best IO'd out once you get to 50? Do you folks build for +HP, +Recharge, or +defense?
This has been a fun thread to read. My only concern about /Regen for Brutes is do I follow my brain and roll SS/Regen or my heart and go StJ/Regen. -
I think that's true. The power of Masterminds is not in dispute. But the AT feels very hands-off to me. I like the visceral thrill I get from melee or directly shooting something in the face.

Justice is home, but I'm going to create a few characters on Exalted.

Quote:I was thinking this earlier today. It's a shame the developers have went in the opposite direction for years, by rewarding killing lots of NPCs as quickly and efficiently as possible. Removing just about every way to do missions without killing things. The only way I can see this happening again is if an MMO launches that doesn't actually reward kills, or devalues them substantially. Star Trek Online actually does that to a degree: you get most of your rewards from completing tasks, not destroying ships or critters on the way to completing those tasks, so the game doesn't have to care a lot about whether ship to ship combat or person to person combat is precisely balanced (fortunate, 'cause its not). If mowing down dozens of minions was a thing to do in City of Heroes, but not the primary means of advancement, that might be a future escape hatch to allowing this sort of thing. Otherwise, I honestly cannot see it happening again.
Ah well. -

I would make the following changes:
- Stop spawning enemies -1 or -2 to the mission in the Reactor. This isn't 2005, people can handle even level spawns;
- Trigger the next spawn to occur like they do in the Incarnate trials. Give people a timer. Put some tension into the trial. It should be possible to have spawns doubled up.
As for the "But people need respecs" argument. That's plainly bunk. Don't do the trial with 8 people whose builds are weak. On most servers there you can find characters who can solo the Reactor room pretty readily. -
Praetoria was a good idea. Having it be a new player experience was not. There's a reason that most MMORPGs have their expansions content either increase or take place at the level cap.

I like hunting missions. Outside of the Peregrine ones, never understood the big distaste for them.

I agree with Claws. We will be getting a respec with this issue.
