Mate, I know you mean it as a joke, but that's a really crass thing to say, and if I wasn't one of the nice people who wanted to be friends, I'd wish you got that stalker, so you can have the 'pleasure' of knowing what it's like.

Sometimes the nicest people on the Internet can turn into real jerks by not actually thinking what they're typing...

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're right... On thinking about it, I guess it COULD be taken wrongly. Enforcer (or anyone else who've experienced this), if I said anything that upset you, you have my sincerest apologies.

Trust the wise Ravenswing, I WAS joking.

EDIT: In fact, I've decided to remove my post, as it WAS crass. Sorry again folks.

No offence taken mate, I read it in the spirit in which you wrote it and found it funny
  2. And people wonder why the server looks empty. lots of people are om search hide to avoid unwanted invites

i've had a few nasty tells over the years but the worst one was someone who wanted to date me in RL. As long time readers may remember I'm a boy who likes boys not girls and dating a female isn't an option, especially someone who I have never actually met. It started with a few teams where I was awesome, then it went to I really like you, then it was declarations of undying love and I want to marry you. I found it terribly creepy and refused to reply any more. Being a newby I didn't know about ignore and felt terrible when I logged on as all I got was bunny boiling tells and e-mails. Eventually the leader of the SG i had just joined pointed me in the direction of petitioning and never heard anything more. But for the three weeks it went on for it was quite disturbing.

Mind you, i can understand the attraction, i'm so l33t and awesome

    Time Bomb

I've tried time bomb in the earliest days of enforcer and found the same problems. Solo it was hard to get the enemies to run into its radius and teamed everything was dead before it went off. few teams are prepared to wait for it to be deployed before attacking.

In fact, there aren't that many powers in devices I actually use.
  4. I've been having that a lot lately too. Its not my connection, the lights on my modem thingy are all green and fine. Team mates have been having it a lot more than me though. I was in a team the other day when 2 people crashed every time they entered a mission.
  5. And isn't it about time they sorted out that problem? Its been going on for what seems to be forever. there are regularly threads from new players with this problem. if it happened to me I probably wouldn't get any further. I wonder how many people have given up before getting to the point of changing the updater to the correct target?
  6. I understand that some people are bored, but the poor devs can't win can they? The event was a bit buggy to start with causing lots of moans and complaints, so to make up for a shaky start they extend it by a couple of days to apologise and get moans and complaints.

Some of us have commitments meaning we have to play less than others and extending the event means we get a bit more fun with ToTing and zombies. I'm just happy to be involved with a game where the people who run it care enough about the players to extend an event to make up for a poor start.

My personal opinion, Thank you devs, I still love you

    CoX On The Mac

I've never used a mac but don't understand the rivalry between pc and mac users. As far as I'm aware the main market for mac users is the US. I've seen one or two in my long career of being a security guard but the majority of people in offices and courts use PCs in this country. If the game can be made compatible for a wider user base surely thats a good thing?

I just get a bit annoyed with the tribal thing of "my technology is better than your technology, nyah nyah". I've seen it with kids fighting over their x-box 360 and PS3. I like both machines. there are games on both I like to play and like the PC and Mac I just think they are different, not one superior to the other.
  8. I love the zombie invasion and have had a great time with them, but i tentatively agree that there should be fewer zones at a time spawning them. 3 or 4 zones at a time would be adequate giving those who want to participate chance to zone hop and those who don't want to participate chance to get away.

I'm a bit wary about complaining though. The devs have done a great job in making this event good fun and it helps to promote cooperation between players. I've also spoken to a few newbys who have become hooked on the game just because of this event. they have discovered the joys of teaming and seen how great the community is. Saying that though, I can understand people who don't want to participate and if a slightly less full on experience makes them happy then I think they have a good point.

Too much ferret porn delays your lvling

Gratz Tommy. i didn't think it was a grind, it was a fun team. It was one of those teams where the AVs dropped like flies and everyone was chatting and being generally silly whilst fighting.

To celebrate, there is a hot tub, chocolate body paint, fresh strawberries and a bottle of bubbly waiting for you. oh and ferret porn on the dvd player
  10. Just a note to say thank you to everyone involved in creating the zombie apocalypse. Now that the bugs seem to be ironed out and they are spawning regularly (at least on defiant) I've had a great evening getting badges on a few of my alts. I know it will calm down like the rikti invasions did but at the moment it is mad and manic and just great fun.

Again, thanks to all involved. I love the way each halloween event builds upon the last one. Roll on christmas!!
  11. It does seem to be a little biased towards trick than treat, but I might just be unlucky too
  12. Well from 7.30pm there has been much fun and mayhem on defiant. Got all 4 badges on 3 alts so for.

Looks like its working fine now

I went to my city of heroes on my PlayNC account and its currently on a trail and now since i bought game i went to upgrade, entered the activation code on the back of the card i recieved but then it takes me to a billing page. I was told that when i enter this code i should recieve my 30 days

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem is that it requires a payment to activate. You can't just put the code in for your free month then decide if you want to continue playing or not, it requires that you have some sort of payment option ready to kick in when your free time is over. I believe you can cancel the account after you have put in the details and not get charged after the free time is up, but I'm not certain as I pay by visa debit on monthly renewal and have been playing for so long I have forgotten the details of when I first signed up.
  14. Must be a new bug. I've had her die on me a few times but have always got the salvage with a clue along the lines of "Just before she left she gave you an item" type thing along with the mission fail.
  15. Well I got home from work at 4 and logged in just after an invasion. Three and a half hours later I logged off for dinner and not so much as a sniff of any undead action. The rikti raids were quite frequent and this uses the same engine so I don't know why it is so rare, especially at times of day when more people will be on. Its nice for those people off work and off school but for those of us with a real life to juggle it isn't so good.

So what would you call fair? Free merrits for all 50s? Then the 49s will complain 50s get something and they don't, or the 40s will, or the 30s.

Seems to me that everyone starting with nothing and having to work for what they want is as level a playing field as you'll get.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you got on (first) login the correct level of merits for the amount of arcs you had done at that point it would be far fairer, though honestly I doubt that'd happen. Though whether or not the game tracks how many arcs you have done in the past I don't know...

And they one group that'd hit would be people who farmed their way to 50 and did few or no story arcs. But then they are probably the people who have the time and energy to farm merits on TFs anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No ones asking for free merits. The game keeps track of story arcs in the form of souvenirs and TFs in the form of badges. I'm not sure if it keeps track of multiple attempts on the same TF but it wouldn't surprise me as datamining is a big part of the devs job. If we get awarded retroactive merits for the stuff we have already done then it would make the current crop of 50s happy, and indeed every existing alt of whatever level. The chances of getting the full amount of merits for every mission we have done is pretty slim, but it isn't that hard to get the game to count what you have already got via badges and completed story arc souvenirs.
  17. i just want to know if they are going to be retroactive for all of us with multiple 50s, some of them for a long time. Just got the 42 month veteran reward and enforcer is my first alt. I'd like to see him getting a shedload of merits when I log in
  18. Oh I agree and thats the way I usually go, but it is unfortunate that the salvage required to make the IO is so routinely expensive.
  19. And to be honest, if you put it in for around 50 million it would probably sell as fast as you click the sell button. If it doesn't sell for 100 million then just be happy that you still got a shed load of inf for no work at all.

And it is people putting stuff on at stupid high prices that prevent normal players from getting recipes and salvage. When you are trying to craft a level 15 accuracy enhancement and find it takes 50k for one of the salvage it becomes annoying. Unless you are subbed by a high level toon normal players can't afford stuff.

Ok, all solved, UK ver downloaded, NV card installed instead of builtin, and tutorial + one solo mission completed... Works fine so far... although I'm not sure I made a good char...

    [/ QUOTE ]

As long as you like the character, and enjoy playing, it's good. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yay you and totally agree with above poster. Ask questions and try out different different alts and styles, but if you are having fun then don't let people tell you that your alt is rubbish. There are certain things you need to bear in mind such as slots only doing good up to three of the same enhancement and going for fitness power pool to get stamina on alts that are very endurance hungry, but that is more game mechanics and enhancing your enjoyment of your character rather than being rubbish if you don't have a cookie cutter build identical to everyone elses.

have you tried omega drivers instead of nvidia?

Mind you saying that I had problems with a rubbish inbuilt graphics card. as soon as I swapped over to a decent card everything worked fine.

    Ok, everyone knows I'm stupid
  22. have you tried omega drivers instead of nvidia?

  23. The 30s are the dullest levels in the game. Hit 40 and you suddenly get challenged with carnies, knives of artemis, nemesis, lots of fun AV arcs and the joy of seeing shadow shards for the first time.

As for ATs, i love dual blades/willpower scrapper and inv/ss tank. Ok the tank doesn't slam through mobs like a brute does, but overall can steamroller over most (non psi) enemies.
  24. To be honest it is unlikely. Most of the maps in the game are semi random based on the computer placing tile sets in a random but pre-determined fashion to avoid rooms with no doors, corridors with no openings etc. A few are tailor made like freak olympics but it would be a lot of work for the devs to create a map editor complicated enough to appeal to the total design freaks but easy enough to use that the less talented amongst us can cope with. I find the base editor simple but trying to decorate it drives me mental. If there was a set of predesigned rooms I could use then edit for uniqueness I'd be happy. Oh, and the ability to move it without having to delete or move half the stuff in it before I can place a room. just let me place the rooms first then I'll worry about whether I can actually get into them. I want to be able to move everything to the side then decide where they are going. After that i'll decide where the doors go
