Zombie Apocalypse Update

Yeah - our GM's manually triggered that one on Union and Defiant.
We have now received a solution for rectifying the issue and it is currently being applied across all European servers. Once this fix is in place the Zombie Apocalypse events should resume occuring regularly.

Do we have an estimate of when the solution will be in place?

So we can expect events within a 3 hours window, plus some other unknown trigger from now on then? (Just had one on Union about 30 minutes ago)

Do you have a large team of necromancers using the Summon Zombies power?

That explains why in the 5 hours that I have been playing no event started.
And me I was guessing if I was ALWAYS in the wrong place and the events didn't show in the chat.
Well from 7.30pm there has been much fun and mayhem on defiant. Got all 4 badges on 3 alts so for.
Looks like its working fine now
Well strictly speaking it looks like there's been a burst - on both Defiant and Union.
We (as players) still don't know if it's working as it was meant to - just that we're now seeing some and so we're happier!

Hm. Did the downtime break them again? Been logged in for over 2 hours now (on Defiant), and nothing. Last night they were happening near constantly in one zone or another. Unless there was a wave in all zones right before I logged in and/or things take a while to get up to speed after a downtime, I think something's not right and the fix needs to be re-applied.
Edit: A mass attack in all zones now (1:55 CET, 12:55 in England).
Just a quick update on this. The fix we have works, in that it restores the Apocalypse to correct functionality, however the actual cause of the original problem remains. What this means is that the Apocalypse may, at random, stop functioning. We're monitoring and the vast majority of the time the event should be fixed again before you even notice it's been broken. If the Apocalypse does stop working for longer than a few hours, however, please don't hesitate to let us know.
So... Not so much as a fix, as a fudge?

Don't got getting technical, FFM. It's a two week event, they don't really need a fix until next year. And fudge is tastier.
Disclaimer: The above may be humerous, or at least may be an attempt at humour. Try reading it that way.

Fudge is tastier and keeps the event running . Given that it's effective and Issue 13 is rapidly rolling ever closer it makes sense to go witht he fudge rather than a full fix at the current time.
Hey, I'm a professional programmer you know! I *live* on fudge!

Any chance the event could be extended for another week? The MOTD says "As a special thank you to all City of Heroes and City of Villains players we've begun this year's Halloween Event early!" - however, given the problems with the invasions and such initially, it really kicked off late instead .
Add to that the problems with the spawn rate of spirits and such (which I think could have been avoided if the test in the US back in July had been run for longer than an hour and a half) and I think it's only fair to extend it if you want to really thank the players.
There might be a scheduled Rikti invasion week in the way, but that could always be postponed.
Please?
I second that request although fitting it in soon may be a problem with issue 13, issue 14 and the winter/valentines events (should they happen) all due over the next few months.

/unsigned on the extension. Kinda getting sick of the invasions now... They keep interrupting RP at GG!
Am also getting fed up with logging in to find I'm already at 5% health thanks to a damned invasion going on!

There are plenty of safe areas in each zone to log out in - the parking garage in Brickstown, tunnels in Atlas, Steel and Talos, under bridges in Founders' Falls, inside shops - and of course inside train stations.

For a full week, no. For 2-3 days ... probably. We're still discussing, and I'll let you know ASAP.

All of which require me to remember to GO somewhere safe when I log off! Assuming I have TIME to wander off somewhere safe to log off!

Hi all,
We're currently investigating a possible issue with the Zombie Apocalypse zone events on all four EU servers. After running as expected overnight, these events appear to have not been working as intended today. We have escalated this issue and hope to have a resolution as soon as possible.
I'll update this thread as soon as we know more.
