  1. Oh, i also want them to get rid of the wierd warping effect on boots before making new costumes. This bug has existed since forever and it's terrible >_<

I would too, for the most part, except i actually DO have a character who uses the bikini in "flesh" tone ( reds, actually... because she's an energy being and thus clothes just burn off her, so her "nudity" is justified)... i guess i could use something else, but if they added bump-map edges to EVERYTHING, i'd be a little ticked.
  3. I think overall, it depends on how the changes are presented.

For instance, let's take a costume part that is probably near the top of the radar for a redo: The bikini. It looks TERRIBLE. It has jaggies, half-there coloring and literally is one of the worst examples of "painted on" costume bits in the game.

    Here's how it looks now:

Now, what is the art team going to do about this? Are they just going to tighten it up and make it less jaggy, like so... (warning, bad photoshop manip ahead)

OR... are they going to completely reinvent the piece to have texture and bumpmaps and self-shadows and end up looking something like this (warning, REALLY bad photoshop manip ahead...)

    ?

See, if we're dealing with the first scenario, then I'd prefer Noble Savage's first option in the OP. However, if they were to completely reinvent the piece as in the second picture, I'd have to go with option 2. Making something too specific makes it lose versatility. Some people have it as a bra, some people have it as a bikini, some people use it with odd skin colors to create the illusion of nudity... you wouldn't have as many options if there were patterns and bitmaps and shadows all over the place. And therefore the old piece should be kept for those who want to use it.

But with the first picture, no one is "losing" anything. You can still use and re-purpose it for whatever you'd like, but it would just look BETTER. Second option though? Well, good luck finding a bikini pattern everyone likes.

I short, I'm withholding my vote until i know exactly how the art team plans on redoing the old costume bits.

PS, apologies again for the bad manips, I'm sure the actual art team would churn out something 100x better looking, but i wanted something quick and dirty to get the point across.
  4. Your Mo-...?

Wow, I'm finding myself surprised that a teenager plays this game. I don't feel right =(
  5. Dude's pitstains are totally showing.

Ad hominen attack, i know, but still...

    EIGHTY?!

Where the hell did you get eighty of those things?! XD
  7. Coulda SWORN i saw a dev post about 2 freespecs. Edited OP cuz i'm dumb >_<
  8. ^ What DarkGob said. Everyone just rolled new toons, probably didn't slot accuracy TOs, and now that "beginners luck" is fading off, they don't have any ACC in their powers.

Funny you should mention this. If you look close, they ARE wearing SOME Vanguard pieces (Faultline has brown and gold vanguard tights under his jacket, and Fusionette has the boots and gloves)... but NOT the ENTIRE outfit.

I think the devs need to take a similar route. Maybe give him the shoulder pads and belt pieces, but that's all.

And plz give him back War Witch's sword.
  10. Ok, i figured it was that, but i wasn't positive. I'll keep truckin... and maybe power level a bit >_>

Or maybe wait for i19 =)
  11. "i'm the witch and you're the *****!"

    XD

Dude, that was AWESOME, i can't stop laughing XD
  12. Well if you want safety, what you want is to get hover*, something to knock down fliers (air sup, web nade, etc), and then slot for ranged and AoE defense.

Rad would be your best bet for debuffing the AV enough to do meaningful damage.

*or get jetpacks and a LOT of end recovery. Just something to keep you up in the air.

There's several ways you can go about all of this. Just playing in mids for a few minutes I cobbled together a build that's not TOO gimp but is close to the soft cap for ranged defense. Dunno if it would solo an AV though. My advice would be lay off one or two of the AoE attacks and use those power choices to get self-defense powers and do what you can to increase your DPS.

Also remember that i19, while still a few months away, will be making the Fitness pool inherent. So roll your guy now, level him up a bit, and see where you're at for power/slot selections once i19 goes live.
  13. And THIS is why people shouldn't play when they're sober. Only drunk or high.

.... or do i have that backwards? o_O
  14. Hey gang, i've got a bit of a problem.

I have a small number of 50s. A Blaster, a couple Defenders, a Tank, and my favorite, my Mind/Kin Controller.

I also have like 4 or 5 scrappers who i just can't seem to get around to leveling. I play them for an hour before getting bored. Combat feels... slow, and i don't seem to be doing much more damage than other ATs at the same levels.

For the record, here they are:

    Spines/Regen
    Kat/Dark
    Claws/SR
    MA/Invuln

and i just rolled a BS/Shield to run around Praetoria with.

Those first four I've had for over 2 years at least and i don't think any of them are above level 20. I just get... bored playing them, i guess, even though i see other people having a blast with their scrappers. So i figure either I'm doing something wrong, or i have to wait for a few more levels before they get exciting. Maybe both. Any ideas/advice/words of wisdom/flames?

But not greens. ALWAYS use tough when fighting greens. Those bastards think they're sneaky because they have the same color name as your teammates and think they can catch you unaware. AND IT WORKS =(

Heh, I see where you're coming from. For me it's now more of a "What's good with 1 or 2 slots" instead of "ooh, 3 more fully slottable powers!"

Perhaps the Devs will give us a few more slots (3-6 squeezed in between levels 30 and 40 i would think), but that might make this change actually too powerful. We'll have to wait and see.
  17. Actually, a good number (not all, but a good number) of psi attacks don't have "position" flags, which means they'll cut right through any ranged/aoe defense you have, which is the main reason invuln has so much trouble against it.

Here's my build, where "psi mitigation" was one of my goals. She's not a perfect tank, but i can pull a Master STF easily, so it can't be THAT bad. You can use it to garner some ideas. My other main goal was getting DP near perma so that if/when i do take damage, i can literally shrug it off. Also +Acc, because I hate missing. And i went after a bit of +recovery because she's an End sucker and was actually unplayable at one point it was so bad. Anyway, have at it...

  18. You know the news.

Anyway, since my mind/kin build is already tighter than a preacher's mom, I have to figure out 3 powers that don't need slots to be effective. OR i could try to squeeze one or 2 slots out of other powers if i really had to (With the BoTZ nerf, no sense in having that set in hover anymore... prolly just keep the KB prot in it and put the other slots elsewhere...) Just thinking aloud here, don't mind me...

Siphon power? Could throw an end redux in there, i have enough global acc to take care of accuracy issues...

Repel? An end hog to be sure, also not to useful most of the time (then again i did take TK >_>)

Inertial Reduction? Can easily get by with one slot, but then i'd almost never use fly and may as well respec out of that if i hadn't taken it for concept reasons...

Stealth? Good for a +recharge IO, and not being seen is nice.

Super Speed? Aleady have siphon speed, though it would make those long trips less boring...

Recall friend? Combined with the two choices above, it'd be nice to have on TFs to stealth and TP the team, though i suspect a lot of people will go that route, and i'd hate to be redundant.

Leadership pool? Dunno which power i'd end up skipping (prolly vengeance), but they're end hogs and would kinda cancel out my inherent stamina XD Also don't seem to give as good of a bonus as i thought they did...

Fighting Pool? Tough and Weave don't offer great bonuses to a controller, Tough seems decent, though... it offers +18.8% res as opposed to weave's 5.6% +Def. I think some people who already have decent stats might be able to use this to soft-cap themselves, but i'm not in that camp. Again, end hogs, though.

Medicine pool? Useless, especially since there's temp powers now that do the exact same things that i already can't do (Rez, self-heal w/out a target)

As you can see, this change opens up several options for me. What about you guys? Any powers you wish you could fit in but never could until now? Just going to take 3 powers from the stealth pool and use them as LoTG mules? Let's brainstorm, share and discuss!
  19. I think that to do "the other side's" contacts (aside from paper/radios and TFs), you have to be fully on the other side to talk to them. So finsih your business as a rouge, then go do the miss. It'll still be there when you cross over, don't worry =)

Also, i'm -fairly- sure all the misisons are in PI, so you won't need Ouro.
  20. With the news that i19 will be introducing INHERENT swift, hurdle, health, and stamina at level 1 or 2 (Castles' words), respec recipes are in high demand and prices are soaring.

XXX [EDIT: This part may not be true!] Guess someone forgot to tell the get-it-now-before-it's-hot crowd that we'll be getting 2 freespecs per character when i19 rolls around.[/EDIT] XXX

Ah well. I'm half tempted to put the RR i got as a drop on the market at a ludicrous price, just for lulz to see if it sells.

You can't have fitness twice. If you have it when i19 goes live, you won't get it inherently. If you respec out of it, it pops itself into your build (or rather, when you go to do a respec, it forces itself into your build and fitness is no longer selectable)
  22. Some of the stupid in this thread burns.

There is no "power creep". All it is, is "yay no more resting for 3 minutes between mobs!"

That's all this amounts to. This isn't a damage buff. This isn't a global recharge/accuracy/defense/resistance buff that makes this easy game already easier. It's just reducing the wait time between spawns. That's IT.

Sure, a FEW powersets will benefit form this better that others, but overall it just means you'll have to pick 3 more powers and not have any slots to put in them.

Now, "power creep" WOULD exist if they gave us more slots to put INTO those extra three powers (3 extra attacks with 5 slots each are a lot more powerful than if they only had 1 slot a piece) As it stands right now though, the best you can do is have 3 under-slotted powers to possibly use as unique/proc mules. Which isn't too bad.

My only reservation is that i've worked very hard to make all my characters as functional as they are within the current system... i feel like the man who climbed a mountain, reaches the top after much hardship, and feels insanely proud of himself... and then a minute later he sees that there was an elevator there the whole time.

But I'll get over it =)
  23. Huh.

I made a few characters without fitness (or at least health/stamina) for bragging rights purposes and self-challenge. So much for that. Otherwise, "yay!"

Also, "yay" for Apex! "yay" for incarnate slot! "yay" for harder endgame content! "yay" for boobie physi-

... oh, wait, they didn't announce boobie physiscs, did they? Aw =(
  24. hey, wanted to appologize for not getting back to you last night, i didn't see/hear the tell until it was too late >_<

Might be able to make it tonight, might not, we'll see!
  25. "restored boo"-... >_<

That's STEEL CANYON. You can tell by the Statue's Boot!

..I know that sounds like a joke but that's totally the statue in Blyde Square.

Anyway, i'm thinking it has to do with the return of the comic, and/or Ajax finally coming into the game. I dunno where you morons are getting "cross server teaming" from when the guy is simply yelling out over broadcast >_>
