I made a STUPID mistake. Will the devs help me?

Long story short, I deleted one of my characters. It was totally intentional, and I pulled out all her influence and important IOs before I did. I'm not looking to get any items back, I don't even care about the badges or accolades. I just want the level 50 Fire/Fire Scrapper I foolishly got rid of. Will the devs help me or will they tell me to deal with my idiocy?

i think once you delete a toon the action is final, thats why they have you confirm you want to delete it by typing in the name

I'm going to say they won't since you did it on purpose.

They will restore it if it was within the last six months.

If you need to cite precedence. Just mention Xanatos and Galacton.

They did this for me on a toon that had been deleted for over a year, restored with all of their items, influence, badges, everything. They can guarantee a restoration within 6 months but sometimes you can get lucky.

Just file a "Ask a question" support ticket over at plaync.com

You have to provide the character name and a date for them to search.

I hope that you get your character back.

If I were one of the GMs, I'd certainly do it for you.


But the next time you stopped to talk to a contact, an NPC would walk by and say "Hey, it's <heroname>! Coulda swore he left town!"
Or "Next time, can I have ur stuf?"

((I also know for a fact you can get a character restored. People do things they regret all the time. The devs know this since they are people too. ))

And THIS is why people shouldn't play when they're sober. Only drunk or high.

Yeah I've had about 6 toons restored CS is very good about helping with these types of things. I have even started help tickets off with "i did a stupid thing" and they still tried to help.

oddly one of the best things in this game which beats out all other MMOs is that the GM/Devs/CS, ect... Actually care about us as individuals.

Ever how hard it is to believe. they actually respond to tickets faster than I can smoke a cigarette. some of my MMOs have characters with open tickets from...last year... Granted It was because I was reporting someones infraction of server policy. got to love the love I get on an Official RP server in the biggest MMO.

I hadn't heard of this before, but I can't say I'm surprised the admins would do such things for players. I came to CoH after a stint with Horizons: Empire of Istaria, where the customer service was totally absent. It's been over six years and I can't see going anywhere else.

I don't like to think of a City without DragonBerry in it. What the hell kind of City would that be? Not a very good one I tell you.

I think everyone has had really bad days and in a fit do things they regret , luckily i've been allowed to fix mistakes and overreactions like that

Im addict to deleting characters, and once I tried to get one back.
If it wasnt long time ago, and you can give them a date, maybe they can restore the character to your account.

It was just an alt, not even one I play a lot. I just don't want to go to the trouble of leveling her up to 50 again.

Got a response from the devs asking for more information. I gave it to them last night. I'm expecting a response sometime tomorrow, what with this being Labor Day.

The GMs recovered my deleted character! I now have my level 50 Fire/Fire Scrapper again! Once again we see a shining example of how NCSoft cares about it's customers.
