Quote:Nice bit of writing Steelclaw, but I've come to expect nothing less from you.He was gentle as he helped her along the path towards the future. He knew he was likely damning her to an eternity of madness. But he hated attending the theater by himself.
But an entire world of people where EVERYONE had the potential to be a god... well... that would prove to be a show worth watching. -
Quote:Oh get stuffed with your irritating and massively unwelcome bigotry. Seriously.Quote:Why do you keep subjecting yourself to reading it, then?
More importantly, WHY do you quote it, forcing those who shouldn't have to to read it anyway?
I am in agreement with FFM on this one, and it appears I'm not alone. -

Quote:I'd recommend "Woman in Black", which may still be in theaters at this point. Almost no blood, but a lot of creepieness. That said, I'm looking for some recommendations. I like to watch movies with my wife, so excess gore is pretty much an immediate "no." Anyone know some intelligent and SCARY movies appropriate for a cute little Japanese woman?
Also, check out either version of "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." Have only seen the remake personally, but I assume the original 70's (?) would by default be even less gory than the remake.
I'd second people's advice to check out the old Hammer Horror films from the 60's and their ilk. Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Vincent Price... those guys knew how to pump up the creepy vibe without rubbing the viewer's nose in it.
Have fun! -
Quote:L5R's D10 system is alive and well, and into it's 4th Edition (I'm currently in a weekly game). Not 100% sure what AEG's ownership status is, but their logo still appears on the books.AEG was a great company, but they sold their rights to there big table top games (L5R and 7 Seas) both great games that are now part of the d20 system.
Rokugan was adopted as the "Oriental" setting for D20, but that may not currently be the case, haven't played D20 in some time. -
Quote:Far from it. I love the book, and hated the movie until I managed to (in my mind) "divorce" it from the book. At that point, it became good clean fun. Please tell me I´m not the only one who has actually read the book
As much as anything Paul Verhoeven touches can be considered clean. -
Quote:Slightly off topic, but this is something that occasionally irritates me. Blue side, these explore badges are just shinies, but Red side they are all required for the Invader accolade. If you slip and miss one, you have to hope you can find someone who is running the appropriate level mayhem mission so you can tag along.Yes you can repeat any mayhem mission. But what's important to remember is that you can -outlevel- particular mayhem missions so if you're worried about the explore badges (like Mafia said) then you'll need to keep that in mind.
Would love to see a method to return to lower level SG/Mayhem missions. Perhaps after running your required number of radio missions, you're offered a choice to run in any zone you've met the level requirement for... so a level 50 could run a bank mission in any zone. Whether this would exemp the character to the zone level or generate enemies at the character's level wouldn't matter to me, it's all about the badges.
Of course, making these missions available via Oroboros could also be an option. -
Quote:No! No!! No!!! No!!!! No!1!!! Ragequitting is the only option. Keep your silly reasonable solution to yourself, n00b!DOn't want it, don't buy it. It's that simple. Quitting over it is absurd, IMO.
J/K. Seriously, I would not pay anywhere near 800 PP for this thing. Maybe 40-80 for the novelty of it, but that shiny would wear off really quickly. -

Quote:Was running the Sister Solaris DA arc solo on my Stalker. I had just finished one of the mobs of Cyclops/Minotaurs when the crash hit.Figures this would happen when I go to my first Hami in months.
Usually I get dinner (and maybe a kiss) before this happens to me... -

I'd love to be able to do a respec starting from level 50, work my way back to the point I'm happy, and then rechoose powers and slots from there forward.
I think a fully dynamic respec (remove this power, add from available choices) might be too complex with level requirements on powers, but it would be sooo nice. -

Quote:Nicely summed up, Tyger. I lol'd.Indeed. They did great work on Stalkers.
I look forward to the day the devs finally make the Tanker "a devastating hand to hand combatant" that "dishes out all sorts of damage" with a "powerful, but not exceptionally quick, offensive punch".
Because, you know, that's gonna happen.
And the new Stalker changes are excellent, I'm enjoying them a lot. -
Quote:This, btw, is how I deal with all "combat NPC" escorts. Don't give them a chance to wander around gathering aggro. Obviously, ambushes are a different matter, but there's nothing that says you can't stack the odds in your favor. What I do is this, at top speed I leap over or swerve around the gang keeping Lady Jane Prisoner and run, run, run all the way to the end of the mission where the chest is.
Then I fight all in that room until it is empty, and then I fight my way towards Lady Jane.
Personally I like this arc, have run it on every toon I've played blueside. As I understand this, the change requires each toon to accept the missions in turn and run through them, solo or on a team. I see no problem with that.
Want to be a Hero? You have to put in your own day's work. -
Quote:I wonder if it would be easier for then to code it so we could send ourselves more than one item at a time.Quote:Even telling how long the cooldown had left; '15 seconds' every time is not helpful. /Signed
Make it so! -
Quote:First, let me understand your position. Also, I would like to address I am not camping on names. I have had these names for years and re-rolled toons with these names.
1) You have toons with these names, but are not currently playing them.
2) Rather than deleting the toons you are not playing, you are offering to sell their names for (IMO a large amount of) Inf
If this is correct, then:
Yes, you are camping on these names. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but it is what you are doing. The first step is admitting it...
If someone is willing to pay you Inf for these names, good for you. Personally, I wouldn't give a small orange inspiration for ANY name. I'd either choose a different name or go to a different server where the name is available.
I'll echo those that have wished you good luck with your sale... you're going to need it. -

Quote:In one of the Discworld books, a character (Ridcully?) has a great line that goes something like:The other classic way to probably play a 'God' is that you operate very much on the Terry Pratchet system of Belief and Worship = Power. Anything outside of the major belief with very few or no followers is a 'Small God'.
"Of course gods exist. That's no reason to go around believing in them."
Love Sir Pterry's work. -
[QUOTE=Demetrios Vasilikos;4112177]Quote:Zeus apparently had not had his coffee this morning.Ol Berkeley let loose with a psychic tornado that left Zeus in a whirl and yanked Cole by the collar heading for the ferry.
Quote:Now rumors abound that a mortal and nearly powerless Marcus Cole stalks the streets of Paragon. A changed man, barely like the arrogent tyrant state that ruled through intimidation for so long.
Gah, if only there was someone here to jog my memory, maybe the son of a dying planet could do it, you know, a man who is simply super. Oh well, it will come to me eventually.
Humble? Not quite the word I was looking for. -
This is obviously shopped... the cute shoulder pet is on the wrong shoulder.

Quote:AFAIK, if the tip takes you to the Rogue Islands, it can't be completed by a pure Hero. Same goes for pure Villains who get tips that take them to Paragon City. These must be dropped/dismissed. Be aware that some of the Valentines that look like they would take you to the "other side" take you to a transport point instead, so these can be completed.Ok, now that I can get the Valentine Tip drops, I have another question. Some of these tip missions say to go see an NPC in the Rogue Islands or Praetoria. Since I'm a Hero, how can I get to the Rogue Islands? Are these tips only for Villains? Then why did I get that one? And how do I go to Praetoria?
Praetoria can be reached from the Studio 55 portal in Pocket D, and there are portals in Talos and (I think) either Sharkhead or Cap.
As for why you get tips that can't be completed, I can't say. My Bane got a large percentage of these, maybe 1 in 4 could actually be completed. I'm assuming that was just luck of the draw. -
::jaw drop::
Wow, just... wow.
I'm expecting this will probably be in limited release, but I'll check it out if it's playing in my area. -
Quote:Reminds me of an old South Park standard....It has been a tradition for seven years to use "mew" as a greeting in the Legion. I don't remember who first tried it as a pronoun, but some people have taken it to such extremes that you can't actually tell what they're talking about at times.
Marklar and Marklar went to the Marklar to see the new Marklar.
Things get out of hand pretty quickly when an "inside joke" gets brought out in public without a leash.
