    Horror movies

I'm curious if you would enjoy "M". Black and white, from 1931 (which is absolutely amazing, as this movie is timeless... yet also interesting to come out of Pre-WWI Germany) starring Peter Lorre. It is subtitled, as it was done in German.
I really enjoyed that movie. I recall it being creepy and suspenseful, but zero gore... Although, it is about a child murderer.

I'm trying to remember if Ju-On has gore or not. It's another Japanese horror film. I really enjoyed that and Ringu. Ju-On might be my favorite horror film. At least, based on the first time I watched it. I'm not sure if it can be quite as good any subsequent times through, but it still stays up there for that first time (they ruined the one final safe place you want to think you can hide!).

I am not a fan of most modern "horror" movies, as they seem to have misunderstood the title as though it meant "horrible".
Then again, I do enjoy the old Friday The 13th slashers (as a fun goof... not really horror either, for the most part).

    EDIT:
Oh, shoot... yeah, The Haunting (1963) is possibly the best horror film. Entirely suspense... crazy, really. I love that one.

Funny, looking at the Paragon Wiki article for the Animal Pack, it doesn't list the Monstrous bottoms in the list of items.
Yeah, it was somewhat weird and probably slipped under the radar for a lot of people. For all of these years, we had the full reptile set, from head to toe (with normal legs/tights), but the Monstrous Fur could only be complete with Monstrous legs and not normal legs/tights.
It was great that they added it in, finally... but, yeah, it's slightly odd to be separately available from the rest of the Monstrous Fur pieces.

    It's time to go dance!

    /em discodance

I'm really pleased this was resolved! My friend who actually bought the entire costume pack was more upset about this than I was. I can't wait to tell him that it's fixed.
    Excellent!
    I always love happy endings.
  5. Ooops, just realized this was about a Defender: Kin/Elec!
I see "Electric Blast" and I get all sorts of excited!!

Voltaic Sentinel may be a big help for you.

Also, being Kin and Elec, I'd think that being up close in melee might be the right spot for you anyway.
So, maybe don't worry about Ranged ST combos and go in and use the different aspects of Electric Blast. I hope you enjoy it!

Here's my initial, somewhat useless, response:

Yeah, you're not really missing anything, you're correct.
And Ad Astra is correct as well (and I love that aspect of the different powersets too).

For me, with enough recharge, the Tier 1 is up often enough that I don't miss having another ST attack too much.
Playing as an Electric Blaster, I tend to be either laying down holds, sapping endurance, throwing AoEs and/or punching things up close in-between my ST ranged attacks.
This is as an E3 Blaster (The Blaptroller!!).
It's a versatile set and I change my approach around the situation and/or my whim.

    That's what I thought!
I think it might have been around the time of Shields, either when they came out or when they were trying to make it work with more emotes... I could be wrong about either of those, but that's what the voices are telling me right now.
  7. I've been trying to decide if I'm going to make a Staff Fighting Scrapper or Stalker...
I initially thought Scrapper, but this could be a great time to give Stalkers a serious whirl (one thing I've been meaning to do).

Here's the one thing I do know... Stalkers do not get Staff Fighting's feature Form Powers (Form of Body, Form of Mind, Form of Soul: Toggles that supply some additional effects - small amounts of different damage types and secondary effects, depending on the form and the level it has been brought to [by building up Staff Fighting's attacks and then using one of two special attacks that will have greater effect]).
Stalkers just get Build Up and are balanced out as though they're in Form of Body, as I understand it.
Some see this as a negative, but I am actually thinking that I may enjoy this for Staff Fighting. The different forms are somewhat cool, but I could see myself enjoying it more with a somewhat spiritual/chi-focused monk-like staff user... but, I'm just thinking about making a character that uses a staff to hit people with... And, for that, I'm starting to think Stalker might be more fun for me.

Might not be of much help, but I figured I'd share my own unfinished thoughts on the matter, hehe.

    EDIT:
And, hopefully, before anyone else says it...
Yes, of course I could be a Scrapper and not take/use the different forms.
I'm just thinking that Stalker might be fun and I don't see losing the Form choices as a bad thing in my case.

Losing the things that Street Justice lose as a Stalker might not be as fun though.
  8. Hmm, Lecture might give you that same (or similar) pose as in that shot there.
    Possibly Talk, as well.
    Maybe Yourewelcome.

This, however, I am uncertain. I don't have many weapon-using characters and I was surprised recently by how many emotes cannot be used with a weapon out (not even by drawing the weapon while in the act of emoting).

A photoshop job may be easiest for placing the weapon in hand, with such a pose.
  9. Actually, I know it's hard to believe, but the monstrous fur bottoms were not there until the Animal Pack.
It was something that should have been there to complete the Monstrous Fur set all this time, but it was not.
It came in with the Animal Pack (along with all the Animal Fur options).

I'm glad they put it in, but I did think, at the time, that it should have been a free addition.

I don't make the rules though, hehe.

Looking at it from the female character point of view (which is all I play, so it's the POV that's important to me) - Bald or No Hair is the last thing I want. Personally, I want longer hair under fedoras and the various military-themed hats, a no-ponytail option under bandanas and cowboy hats, etc. Oh - and any hair at all under the Katie Hannon TF witch hat.

And, I think OP's question was not well-phrased, because I thought OP was asking for a separation between picking a hat and picking a hairstyle - which in the best of all possible worlds would be already in the game. But for the programming reasons listed, highly unlikely to be added.

P.S. If all they added was "no hair" to the existing hat options, I would be one of the first here screaming about not having other options.
I understand your hesitancy, but think about it from the standpoint of using one of all the masked, skull, alien reptile and such faces.
That's where this becomes a more understandable request.
It's not about being able to be a bald person, it's about all of those typically non-haired heads getting to wear hats without trying to match the hair color to the face, which never really works well/looks good.

I'm all for more options with hats, but I do think it is reasonable to accept a pass of no hair for all those options I mentioned above, even before we get more (actual) hair options.

    Pretty much this.
Some hats may need to have a little more work done on them, say to patch up spots that the hair may have covered (the underside of the brim where the hair stuck out slightly... possibly to adjust the width a little bit).
I don't think that aspect would be the same as making new ones... and I am certainly not positive that most/any/all of them would require such work.
I'm not saying that I expect them to deem the work it would take worth it (even though I wish they would), but I don't think (and I could certainly be wrong) that removing the hair from most normal hat options would be anywhere near the work of creating new hats.
I have no idea how much work, time and resources is required to make the UI options to get us those extra choices/options.

In an (almost) ideal world, I'd love a no-hair, short-hair, long-hair (I'm skipping the medium-hair option, just to make it easier) drop-down option for all/most hats.
All things considered, I think just an additional no-hair option for now would be worth doing and well-received. Doing all options may be way too extreme, but if you take care of one option... who knows, maybe eventually you'll get to more.

I think it would be great to include it in both/multiple areas/options, so that if one of those prevented a cool use for someone's character, the other one might not (and vice versa).

Of course, I say that as a wanting, needy, greedy player and not a developer that has to go about making that work and all.
  13. Thanks for sharing some more, Dink!!
I'm looking forward to this pack more than any other before it.

Everything looks great, but the bubble helmet takes the cake. The reflection is fantastic.
I am getting a little sad that the one character I have that could so use the bubble helmet won't be able to (because he needs Detail 1 and Detail 2 options to really make his face).
If you could ever find a way to make an optional face covering for the lower half (something like one of the ninja/assassin/warrior masks inside the helmet), that would be superb. However, I totally understand that this request of mine is likely more than can be done at this point (although, it would help any and all character that normally have beards and such as well).

    Regardless... Day one purchase!

The parade of clowns just comes and comes. Once that carnival music starts up (can't you hear it?), the real hilarity is them coming and coming and coming... And sometimes they're not very nice (especially that scary Homey The Clown!).

    And now, the punchline:

The inspiration hit me and I found it to be humorous, as I looked through the options, and wanted to share them.
If you or anyone wants to discuss it further, feel free to PM me about it.
My only hope is that I made some people laugh. When you do, others surely will not, but that comes with the territory.
  18. That's great.
Everyone mark the calendar, as this is the day that Mazey proclaims Memphis_Bill is displaying an egregious sense of entitlement.
  19. While I certainly think I've made me sentiments on the matter clear...
I'm not entirely certain that they expressly made the distinction of it "not being finished", or that they said they "would" finish it before Going Rogue or directly afterward.
I certainly got the impression that we might get it before Going Rogue and (if not) I really thought certainly get it shortly afterwards!!
However, I can't say for sure that they used any of the words that've been attributed to them, regarding these failed plans/designs.

I still say it is unfinished and that they should have made it happen and that it is quite odd that it has fallen off the radar. And that they did say things like "we'll see" and "we'll try" and such.

It's a slight difference, but I really don't want to attribute false words and/or promises to the Devs.
Then again... they may have said such things... as I've said, I am not entirely certain that they did, hehe... doesn't mean that they didn't.
The way I remember it, they were a bit more vague about it (which, I remember finding frustrating, because... It's so damned important!!!).

I do know that Posi said to me in-person, when I asked about when customization would come for Pools and APPs and such, something along the lines of, "Let's get Going Rogue out first" and chuckling a bit, as we had been talking about how much work they were in the middle of for the upcoming expansion and his special top-secret endgame content stuff.
At that point, I certainly understood that angle, but I find it a shame that it wasn't picked up right afterward (as though I haven't said that enough on these forums, hehehe).
  20. Eh, keep mine Spidey!
    This doesn't appeal to me.
Also seems a bit too cutesy/kiddy.

Note that I said "too". Of course, a trailer isn't a show, but, like I said, this doesn't appeal to me. I can't find any interest in "What if Spider-Man had SHIELD's support, training and tech?".
My answer? Then it wouldn't really be the Spider-Man that I enjoy.
Anyway... it's not like I watch television anyway, so this wasn't made for me!
  21. Did I mention...
    CLOWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNSSSSSS?!?!?!?!

I'd really like to apologize, but I can't...
  22. Positron is going to be there??
    For a CIRCUS costume contest??
    There... might be CLOWNS.

I am not usually a blunt person, but: until this is done, along with the regular pool powers, "power customization" is an unfinished job. It should be in the schedule. Maybe you want to release two more Incarnate powers before you tackle this. Maybe your powers/animations teams are busy refining Beast Mastery and Staff Fighting, and working on a couple more power sets for the next few months. That's all good, and I get that. But this should, at least, be in the schedule. "Finding time" should not be an issue. Please, I implore you: make time.

Obviously, that is my opinion and should be treated as such.
    Seriously. I agree.
I even, possibly, feel a little more strongly about it, because before Issue 16 was released we were asking when Power Pools and Epic Pools were going to get done.
And they said, "We couldn't get it done for Issue 16" and that they'd hopefully get to it shortly afterward.
    Then Going Rogue was announced...
When are we going to get Power Pools and Epic Pools customizable?
I think the first wave was possibly before Going Rogue, but not sure... then it was definitively "It is going to have to wait until after Going Rogue", which I was none too happy about, but... schedules and release dates and all that... it happens.

Now... Let me point out that I don't have any personal negativity or animosity towards anyone involved in any of this... I just find it really nuts, lousy, -word-of-disapproval-that-I-can't-seem-to-find-at-the-moment- that, not only has it not been done yet, but it has been reduced to this "Oh, yeah, that's an idea... maybe some day, but it's not on the schedule right now".
Ever since Going Rogue was released, the idea of finishing the job of Issue 16's Power Customization just seemed to be dropped from their reality.

To this day, I can't recall this community being so overly happy as when Issue 16 was announced and released. It's a bit of a shame, to me, that it was left unfinished (I'm sorry, but what is the point of having your powers color customized when you're left with default Epic powers of the same elements that can't be customized... and most often are used regularly, never mind constantly, such as the Epic Armors... And then there is Hasten and Super Speed, the top request).

I get it... business, marketing, resources, workload, estimated bang-for-your-buck and all that... but... you started this... and it just makes it worse that it has been left in this unfinished state.

Anyway, that's all the rant I have in me about any silly video game stuff. Nothing to take seriously. Just some opinions about the situation, the history and the progression.

I'm imagining that all that insane amount of work required to get done what they did get done was way more than anyone is willing to schedule/set time-and-resources aside for. Having no real clue about how things actually happened to make Issue 16 reality... I'm left wondering if things were far more loose, regarding such scheduling, resources and time and/or the people working on it just used their own time to make it happen... Again, I really don't know.
Maybe it is as simple as losing our champ, Back Alley Brawler.
Not that we don't have champs on the roster now, hehehe... much love to everyone there. As an enormous fan of Power Customization and what it brought to this game... it's just a big, surprising and disappointing state of affairs that it has fallen so greatly off of the company's radar.
