Rant: Strappy Dress Heels Gone

Could be a simple mistake which would be easily fixed from the receipts. Make sure you message them back with the day you purchased them [and any other items] so they can just double check their end before fixing their "fix" on your account.

Respond to your petition with that information, and ask to have it escalated to a senior GM. Hopefully, they should be able to fix that for you.

Now I wish I'd kept the receipts.... I've bought so much from this and two other microtransaction games, but this is the first time it has ever been an issue.
NOTE: I keep the receipts only so long as to be sure I got what I paid for. Needless to say, I'll never delete any receipt ever again.

I purposefully did NOT buy the strappy heels, because I thought they were atrocious re the chimpanzee-toes thing. I heard this was going to be addressed, and naively thought the advent of issue 22 would include the revamped heels. I wanted to go take a look-see; they were nowhere to be found in the costume-creator after i22, needless to say.
My guess is the OP's friends who bought them and still have them will only have them until they make a change to that costume; then they'll be poofed.
I can totally relate to people mourning the loss of parts THEY PAID FOR; I lost the original Victorian Steampunk female face, and I still say AND WILL ALWAYS SAY what a raw deal that is.
They're gone until next year according to the Senior GM who responded to my petition. Anyone who wants them is going to have to wait.... *grrrrr*

There's a thread in the gameplay and bugs thread from another player with a similar issue here ( http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=286159 ); I posted there about this thread. Both of you bought the pieces piecemeal rather than the whole pack. So far I don't think AshleyHudson has submitted any ticket regarding her missing shoes, so I don't know if she'll have any more luck than you in getting them back. Not sure if she did or did not buy the club shirt at the same time.

It is possible that the "fix" mis-interpreted the strappy dress heels as shirt.

Either way, I suspect it would take a very senior GM to handle this so if you get stonewalled (and you will as the low level GMs will just parrot the patch notes), escalate this.

Sounds to me like if you bought the shirt but did not specifically purchase the heels as well then you did not actually pay for the item you lost.
If you specifically DID purchase the heels as well, I'd say you have cause for legitimate complaint. If you got them as a result of a bug when you bought the shirt(as the GM is inferring), it's a different story.

"Outrageous" might be slightly hyperbolic for a matter of less than one real dollar that is likely to be easily fixed by a couple of additional emails.

For what it's worth this is why I'll never "take advantage" of buying things piecemeal. I realize that by continuing to buy things as complete packs that there are probably going to be things that I'm paying for that I'll never use. Still I'd rather give the company an extra few dollars here or there if it'll help me avoid the kinds of trouble you ran into. *shrugs*

All I'm saying is that everything else being equal it's probably easier for the game to handle that a given person bought an "entire pack" of something rather than random piece-parts. The fact that people who bought this entire pack didn't get affected by this problem seems to lend credence to that theory.

Good news! I have Strappy Heels again!
My updated petition reached the Lead GM and he explained that for awhile there was a bugged store redirect that when you wanted to purchase the heels it actually put the shirt in your cart leading to purchasing the wrong item. (At least if I understand it right.) My purchase fell in that time window and he gave the heels back to me.
It's time to go dance!

I'm really pleased this was resolved! My friend who actually bought the entire costume pack was more upset about this than I was. I can't wait to tell him that it's fixed.

Yesterday I wanted to modify my "Club" outfit (top, mini, heels). The character creator invalidates the heels. The heels are nowhere to be found in the costume creator. I double and triple check and compare with a friend to be sure I'm not imagining it. No, they're not there and my friend has them.
I file a bug report and a petition. The petition response, which I am paraphrasing so as not to violate the forum rules, says that there was a bug where if you bought the casual dress shirt you got the heels for free. They fixed the bug and say that since I bought the shirt and got the heels via the bug they've been removed.
Except... I never bought the shirt. I don't like it. I specifically *only* bought top, mini, heels, jeans, and hair.
Heels won't be available again until next year. I was told I can buy them then.
I'm mad and have a right to be. A piece I paid for is gone. My friend who bought the entire pack still has it. I believe I have been screwed by this 'bug fix' because I bought piecemeal.
If you paid for costume parts piecemeal make sure that you didn't lose yours. If you did, please post. If you didn't, also please post. I'd like to gather some information on this. If it appears that everyone who bought piecemeal has been affected perhaps this could encourage them to look at the issue again. If it is only me... that's annoying and frustrating to me, but hardly game breaking.
Note: The casual shirt shows in the costume creator. It's still ugly. I still didn't buy it. I wonder if their 'fix' did that?
