    Need Help Please

You're looking at a forum export of a build created using Mids Hero Builder, a fan made program for Windows that many players use.

The letters next to each enhancement correspond to the level that the enhancement slot was taken at; (A) stands for auto, which is the slot given for free when you select a power.
  2. 75) Newest Incarnate trial: Statesman pinata. Basically, we just beat on his corpse to make Incarnate threads fall out.
  3. This appears to be the case for both near and far. I don't have the same issue with target_custom_next, though it will then cycle through all targets that match whatever token you're using.
  4. Also, my understanding is if that there is a one time bonus reward window for the first time you run an SSA, and from that point on there is a seven day timer on the reward window from all SSA's, so if you had run part 2 within the seven days and chosen the v-merit, you would not be eligible for a v-merit from part 1.
  5. Try this thread.. WindowBlinds looks like a likely culprit.

If that's not it, I'd recommend reposting or having a mod move this to the Gameplay / Technical Issues and Bugs forum, as most of the really tech-savvy players hang out there.

    Tray Management

I find that my short fingers make it hard for me to use the alt+# and ctrl+# defaults for powers in the second and third tray, so I use a custom bind that swaps my active tray while button 4 on my mouse is held, then swaps back when released. There are times where latency will cause one of the binds to get stuck on the wrong tray, so I also have a macro that reverts to tray 1, and reloads the proper starting bind file.

Both files are saved in my \piggs directory since I'm too lazy to put path names in the bind.

    alttray1.txt
    Code:
    button4 "+$$gototray 8$$bindloadfilesilent alttray2.txt"

    alttray2.txt
    Code:
    button4 "+$$gototray 1$$bindloadfilesilent alttray1.txt"

I usually use 1-6 as my main attacks, often with my biggest hitter on 4 or 5, since they're easiest for me to hit. Toggles and armors usually reside on my second visible tray and are clicked. Third tray is hidden and usually has my Ouro portal, Pocket D porter, and other long recharge or seldom used but useful clicks. Travel is bound to "T".

    Permanent Ban

Pretty sure that having emails on a character has nothing to do with it. I have one character that I used to collect the spam emails on - never got a legitimate one, and never deleted any. Unfortunately, I didn't make my goal of 1500 emails before the trial account changes virtually eliminated the gold-farm spam.

    Exemping Rules??

There are two types of special IO's: procs and globals.

Procs require that the power they are slotted in can be used - the level of the IO is not a factor. The Numina's Convalescence and Miracle uniques are Proc120s, so as long as you have the power they're slotted in (and use that power), these IO's will work regardless of exemp level. For instance, if you took Health at 16 and slotted a Miracle unique, you would get the +recovery down to level 11 regardless of the level of the enhancement; at level 10 you would not get the +recovery.

Globals will function so long as they are no more than 3 levels above your current exemp level, and will function even if the power they're slotted in is not available. For instance, if you take Weave at level 41 and slot a level 25 LotG: +recharge in it, then exemp to 35, you would no longer be able to use Weave, but would still get the global bonus from your LotG. Conversely if you were using a level 50 LotG, you would only get the bonus if you were level 47 or above, regardless of whether the power was available or not.

I don't see any TF/SF that is so hard that I need set bonuses period. Just because I don't need them doesn't mean I don't want them.

And I like that my Energy Aura brute soft is soft capped when exemped as far as level 27, even with exemplar scaling. Necessary? No. But it does make that character much more fun at lower levels.
  10. Generally, I find that the important aspects of the enhancements are well covered by anything from level 30 and up - higher levels just end up having more value eaten by ED, although the secondary aspects may end up with better value at higher IO levels. For example in attacks I like to have 95% damage and at least 50% accuracy; and level 30 IO sets achieve this easily. Higher levels will get me better values on endurance reduction and recharge, but I find that the amount of difference is negligible to my style of play.

Also - my 50's don't get all that much play. I run them in task forces, or sometimes when I really feel like playing one of them, but I tend to like to level new characters rather than playing my old ones, so IO'ing at lower levels means that I have more tools available when I need them, rather than just at the end game where I don't play often.

Lastly, one strategy that some find effective is to frankenslot early to maximize enhancement value while slots are tight, then respec into a final build once you hit your desired level. For example, slotting Air Bursts and Detonations, or Ruins and Tempests can be done for a fraction of the cost of more desired sets, and achieve better enhancement value than SO's with lower investment in slots.
  11. I've just gone through this on Guardian as well, with a Praetorian I made shortly after GR launched. Same thing - name appears on the character select screen, but no image.

Also, I can't recycle the name, but it does not appear to be in use in-game.
  12. I think I've been experiencing this as well, though I'm hard pressed to find any actual evidence. Monitoring chat logs has been problematic, so all I can offer is a gut feeling that something isn't working quite right. To this point, I'm only seeing this with Lucks, and not all the time. Digging through chat logs is not terribly fun, but if I get around to it, I'll post anything suspicious I find.

Prior to the last vigilance change, for defender rad blast, that point was at 0%. It's nowhere near as predictable as standard slotting, but watching Neutrino Bolt proc off half the health of a +1 LT is priceless.
  14. I think what you're looking for is:

    /bind \ beginchat /send mysg

Note the space after mysg. This bind puts the /send mysg command in the chat window, and allows you to type your message. Also, if the channel you're sending to has a space in it's name, you need to enclose the channel name in quotes.
  15. I like to keep track of my To Hit rolls in a separate chat tab. If you have something like that, it should be relatively simple to have a look and see if there is indeed a problem. Perhaps you could post it for a numbers guru to have a look at, or email it to... uh... I can't remember who does that anymore, but one of the devs.

Alternatively, we could wait for Arcanaville to show up, since she appears to know more about combat mechanics than anyone.

My own logs show streakbreaker kicking in at the proper number of misses, as far as I can tell.
  16. The first time you complete a morality mission, you get 50 reward merits. Every time after that will be 1 alignment merit (for heroes and villains).

I had an idea like that once - turned into a very fun, if somewhat uneven character.

  19. Try this:

    Taunt

    vs.

    Provoke

This should be the same information found in game. Taunt is better than Provoke in every way. Also, both powers have a maximum target cap of 5.

At launch Taunt was single target so most tanks took Provoke instead, although I'm pretty sure that was changed before CoV launched. I'm not sure if the short descriptions were fixed to match, but Real Numbers should tell you the whole story.

(technically, all the Heals in the game are attacks that do damage of a special type to you, but a negative amount... which is why they interrupt sleeps, and can be resisted)

Edit: To answer the question, while it's technically possible to do, I don't believe there's any player or NPC power in the game that does this.
There is the Vahzilok Wasting Disease, though that only happens to you.
  21. Random advice: if you're on a full account (not trial, unfortunately), have a look at the Mentor Project. There are lots of very knowledgeable veterans that can answer specific questions, or provide other help like zone tours, or in-depth help with some of the game systems.

    Welcome to the city.
  22. But if you could get someone who was level 15+ to start it, then you could go from 10 to 16 over the course of the TF, even before we started getting XP when exemp'd.
