Which is why I specifically hope that momentum is NOT similar to these powers and isn't simply some kind of a +damage power.
  2. I could live with 150, 175 would be a better target.

So Double Assault, Achilles Proc, Aim.

    Channel Gun, Longfang and Gloom?

The Data Chunk is the only thing you ever need to post if you want people to take a serious look at your build.

    Please post the data chunk.

    Corruptor duos

Best would be seriously hard to come up with, Corrs are really fantastic overall.

    My vote would be

    Fire/Rad & Fire/Dark

    - To hit and - Res galore, -regen in gallons, double Rain of Fire & Double Fireball with tar patch and LR mobs unable to escape & AM to help with early endurance issues (which you will have).

On top of this, with some smart choices - both of you can have all of your most important support powers, including a rez each, as well 2 AoEs each and full ST attack chains, all by level 20.

    xxx/sr?

DM/SR is very survivable and a good solo build - but I would like the OP to clarify what it is they want their Brute to do.

DM/SR is an extremely ST focused character, that even with gloom will not necessarily out damage several other primaries in ST DPS that also bring considerable AoE damage to the table.

So if all you are looking for is a highly survivable ST specialist, then DM/SR is a good way to go.

If you want some AoE in there, there are a lot of better primaries.
  6. It's silly question time.

What is the best ST DPS a Crab is capable of, not including pets?

I don't care what combination of Crab Spider Solider (melee or ranged) or patron pools it requires, just want to see if anyone has anything worked out for this already.

    Thanks for the help.

    Oh well, good to know.

    Good point, thanks guys.

Updated to swap MG <> Smite slotting.

  9. Ok, so I've read through this thread as well as posted here.

However, I figured its an odd enough question that maybe it deserves its own spot.

I'm trying to find an optimal slotting for Siphon Life that fits with what I need it to do in my build.

    I've chosen:

1 L52+ Nucleus (not accurately reflected in the mids build)
    1 L50 Hecatomb: Damage
    1 L50 Touch of Nictus: Acc/End/Heal
    1 L50 Touch of Nictus: Acc/Heal
1 L50 Touch of Nictus: Healing
1 L50 Touch of Nictus: Chance for Negative Energy Damage

    This should give me:

    ACC: 84.4%
    DAM: 88.91%
END: 66.2% (with Cardiac Core Paragon)
HEAL: 88.7% (Heals for 289.5 HP)

I went with the 4 piece Nictus for the +1.88% HP & +5% Heal which should be boosting SL I think. The accuracy was just a bonus, I have +60% Global Accuracy in the build before that extra 9%.

I have enough Recharge for Siphon Life in my chain
    MG > Gloom > Smite > Siphon > Gloom > Smite

And my question is, if anyone can come up with a better slotting example that keeps the following in mind:

*This is a Brute build with AAO, SD & Fury - so losing a tiny touch of +Damage enhancement is worth it (and hardly missed) in favor of a Damage proc.

*I wanted at the barest Minimum a 60-70% Heal Enhancement in Siphon, with 90% being the Ideal - with bonuses and slotting I currently have 88% (93% if the Nictus Set bonus effects it) heal enhancement .

    Here's the build (Updated):

  12. Updated

Ok, I've got something workable for different slotting on Siphon to fit a proc in there.

    Would like some opinions.

I lose like 10 points of damage and 10 points of healing, but I gain a proc (which should be better damage over time).

I think I will most likely be going with this:

    Current Incarnate Slotting
    T4 Cardiac
    T3 Rebirth
    T3 Void Radial
    T3 Warworks Core
    T3 Reactive Radial

I don't mind sacrificing some recharge to do it cause it would be nice to be able to solo AV's with this build.

I can give you more resistances through the PvP 3% IO as well as going Cardiac instead of Spiritual.

However, to give you better defenses to damage types beyond SM/L would require significant sacrifices in recharge and at that point I think you would want to stick with Spiritual instead.

You will also be able to solo some AVs with the use of inspirations/incarnate powers.

So unless you want to specifically solo AVs with no inspirations, I'm not sure I would do as you are suggesting.

However, if you want to squeeze out more damage, you can also try to find a way to squeeze the Fury of the gladiator proc into Shatter, as I think the best attack chain for WM is:

    Shatter > Clobber > Pulverize

Regarding the barrier Destiny, since I'm softcapped for S/L/E/N and almost softcapped for F/C, all that barrier would give me is more damage resistance. Is that really more useful than rebirth's regeneration bonus?

    10joy

It gives you more than "more"

It completely caps your resistance values to all damage types for a full 10s.

Now think about how many HP you regen per second as a WP and do the math.

After that, it continues to buff all your resistance values by 30 for 20 more seconds.

On top of the enemies that Nihilii mentioned, Barrier also means that you can go from negative 45 defense to full softcap with Barrier.

And lastly, I think Barrier having two modes of damage mitigation, Defense & Resistance, is the best option in terms of "saving the day" and bringing a bunch of team mates from the brink of death to suddenly being invincible.

It's not just godmode for you, its godmode for you plus up to a full league worth of people.

I don't usually recommend all of that stuff either, but the OP asked for "perma hasten" - I'm assuming if they know that much, they must know it usually requires purples.

Or, I have just informed the OP that permahasten + softcap is out of his budget range.

I read that DM/SD has the highest DPS attack chain but requires several mobs around to get the most out of Siphon Life while FM might be easier to obtain a top attack chain.

The part in red is roughly accurate.

Here is another bit to help you decide:

DM/SD wins on survivability through Siphon Life.

    FM/SD wins on AoE damage.

If you are a primarily team focused player, and want a top end scrapper to run on TFs/Trials, etc - I would recommend FM/SD/Blaze

If you are a primarily solo player, and you are specifically interested in doing 'Scrapper Challenges' like soloing AVs or TFs with no inspirations, etc - then DM/SD is better.

As for top scrapper DPS - there are a few combos actually. I'll let others chime in there.

Remember, the 200 dps is without the pets. If you are able to keep three of them out (no easy task when facing a lone target), that could jump to over 300.

If you want AoE damage too, you will have to do a compromise build so you can have Nova and its AoE's. Single target dps will take a small hit to fit that in, but it's worth it.

Well I'd be willing to risk my eyes if you are willing to share.

I'm not too worried about the final costs, I just need to justify the expense with an end result I will enjoy.

And while it could be more expensive depending on specifics, I doubt it would be significantly worse than THIS

In all seriousness, that build sounds exactly what I'm looking for - truth is I haven't the first idea where to begin with building a WS that would do the things you mention.

And I'm completely in favor of sacrificing some ST for a slew of AoE.
  18. Softcapped to Smashing & Lethal.

    Permahasten with Spiritual Core Paragon.

    It's not cheap...

  19. I wanted to come back to this thread, my build plan has not changed much - but I'd like anyone willing to take a critical eye to it to see if I've missed anything.

I went Cardiac Core Paragon to squeeze out 2~3% more resistance and to run Darkest Night without issue (even though I have Dark Consumption).

I'm mildly tempted to switch to Spiritual, as the healing part would be nice for SL & Rebirth and I could pick up a slot from gloom and possibly hasten as well, but I'm undecided.

My consumption would go from 1.45 with DN running to a whopping 1.88 EPS, that's a fairly large downside IMO and would force me into using DC more than I already do (which isn't often)

The main thing I'm looking for is probably some potentially different slotting on Siphon. I'm pretty happy where it is but I'd love to get a proc in there.

If anyone has better slotting that hits all the marks, and gets the heal component to 15%+, preferably 18%+, I would really appreciate the input.

Other than that, I'm not happy about Gaussian's in SD but I don't really think I have a choice.

Some things that might seem odd to some people:

Active Defense only has 2 membranes

Darkest Night takes care of this issue.

The L50 Rech Rdx in Gloom only reduces the recharge from 3.45s to 3.35s

Gloom needs to recharge in 3.3s to run gapless
MG > Gloom > Smite > Siphon > Gloom > Smite [This is, to my knowledge, the best chain for a Brute]

My chain is not gapless, but 0.05s delay is better than 0.15s delay.

    Anyways... here it is
    Thanks for the input Iggy.

I think I can live with the F/C Defense drop, I was trying to squeeze it in there - but its not of absolute importance.

I'm ok with 1 hecatomb piece. I just have a couple of other projects and this is a "just for fun" side project, so I wanted to keep it under the PvP/Purple all over type builds.

I think my only concerns are the increased 0.2 Consumption if I run tactics and I think Auroxis made a good point on needing 1 more slot for Power Slice, so I can run the Sweep combo safely.

I'll probably just steal the slot from the Achillies' Heel proc, even though thats nice to have.

    Is this confirmed?

If I'm reading this right it means that if you are, for example, a 12 month sub now then you have a total of 4 Vet rewards.

    You have, the first four.

And then, when Freedom is live, you will get "The First Twelve" vet rewards which is equivalent to 36 months.

    I don't know but I have assumptions.

Possible chain: KO Blow > Gloom > Haymaker > Burn > Gloom > Haymaker.

5 Piece Apocalype including Proc in Gloom
5 Piece Hecatomb including Proc in Haymaker
5 Piece Armageddon including Proc in Burn + Fury of the Glad Proc -20% Resistance

Gloom probably requires around 230%~250% Recharge to run that seamlessly - although I haven't worked out the numbers.

I see the positives to Dark Armor, but I think people overstate its positive attributes for Brutes (and scrappers to a lesser extent).

Maybe your experience has been different from mine, but in 2 years of playing Redside exclusively, running TFs daily, and now running Trials daily, I can count using one hand the number of L50 Dark Armor Brutes I've come across - excluding my own.

And while you can claim that everyone else sucks, the truth is if it was straightforward and amazing out of the box more people would most definitely be playing it. They are not.

Not to mention that the OP wants nothing to do with IOs.

DA can be great if you really know what you want from it, and if you have an IO build planned out as well as a way to manage the endurance consumption.

For someone who is not interested in IOs and wants something straight forward for a brute, this is not the secondary to be going with.

My char have a lot of accolades!

    No problem.

You have a few choices then, but since you are already softcapped I would just stick with Obliteration for the recharge.

    1) 5 Slots allows you to take the Force Feedback proc.

    2) 6 Slots will also give you enough melee defense to change Touch of Death in punch to Crushing Impact.

Option 1 provides a random boost to your overall recharge, which probably averages out to 15-20% over time if you are always fighting a lot of enemies but gives you very little when you are not.

    Option 2 provides a straight 5% increase.
  25. This is my mid-range budget WM/SD - Requires at least the first tier Cardiac Alpha, but does not need energy mastery.

It doesn't have fly, but should give you some slotting ideas.
